Assunpink lake
Has anyone fished assunpink this year? I've done pretty good the last couple years but this year has been a bust so far, I'm 0 for 6 and haven't seen anyone else catching while I'm out. I saw a few bait guys catch some perch but that's about it. Thanks

Nightmare fuel.....worst Bass fishing injury I've ever heard
When I was in 3rd grade I skipped school and rode my bike to a local lake, first cast with my trusty Zebco and the mepps I was dying to try out landed in the back of my head. Tried to remove it but couldn’t, luckily there was an officer near by. I showed him the lure and he took me to the ER….the mepps in my head was the easy part, the ER calling my mom and her having to pick me up was the hard part, I think she said “wait till your father gets home about 100 times. Fortunately that was the last head shot I took. I’ve had a few minor ones in my hands. I fish a lot of top water/frogs at night and always wear clear glasses, a missed hook set that comes flying back is hard to duck if you can’t see it

St croix legend glass (spinning)
Hi all, does anyone fish this rod or if not know what it would be best used for? It’s 7’2” medium power, moderate action. I can get one at a really good price, just wondering if it has a specific use. thanks

Thanks cast, I’ve been poking around the navionics app. Good to know it’s close on spruce run, I fish there often. My home lake is assunpink, and this year I want to fish furnace lake a few times…I’ll compare the lakemaster and novionics…I have some time till spring comes around…thanks

Another hello from NJ
I live in Whiting, I fish from a kayak and I’m old school…I still paddle. As soon as ice out I plan on hitting assunpink. Spruce run is a beautiful place, it’s large but there’s plenty of points and deep water close to the launch. Another nice place is manasquan reservoir, the only thing with that place is it’s gated and you can’t launch pre dawn…. let me know when you’re going. Thanks

Hi from new jersey
Last summer it was closed to swimming because of algae. I plan on fishing it more this year. It has a lot of different structure, and the baitfish population is pretty strong. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, I try to fish it during the week, or if I have to fish the weekend I’m off the water by 10:00/11:00

Hi from new jersey
Hi cyclops2, I would say it’s pretty good because I caught a few bass and I have a long way to go to becoming a good bass fisherman. I fished it from a kayak and didn’t have any electronics, so I fished points with a wacky rig and Texas rigs. Guys do well trolling for hybrids there also. This year I’ll have a helix 7 on my kayak so I’m hoping my fishing improves.
