Hi from new jersey

Hi all, I’ve been reading the site for a month or two, great content. I’ve been a salt water fisherman for about 40 years but 2 years ago I bought a kayak and really got into FW LM Bass fishing. It’s great trying to figure out the lakes and reservoirs in my area. This site and tactical bassin have really shortened the learning curve.

Hi TJ, how far in south jersey? I’m in whiting. I’ve been fishing assunpink a lot the last 2 years. I’ve gone to spruce run a few times also.

Hi cyclops2, I would say it’s pretty good because I caught a few bass and I have a long way to go to becoming a good bass fisherman. I fished it from a kayak and didn’t have any electronics, so I fished points with a wacky rig and Texas rigs. Guys do well trolling for hybrids there also. This year I’ll have a helix 7 on my kayak so I’m hoping my fishing improves.

First time I fished S R  with a fish Finder. Bummer trip. Warden meets me at ramp. I tell him about huge mass of floating seaweeds I was seeing. He starts laughing. Looks at me again. Laughs harder bent over.

Last summer it was closed to swimming because of algae. I plan on fishing it more this year. It has a lot of different structure, and the baitfish population is pretty strong. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, I try to fish it during the week, or if I have to fish the weekend I’m off the water by 10:00/11:00

Gloucester county between Philly and Atlantic City. I haven’t fished Assunpink or Spruce Run. Fished hopatcong back in the 90s.

If you’re interested in fishing up this way when the weather breaks let me know, or if you’d like some company down your way, I’m up for learning new spots.

thanks!
