  1. Not to be a total arrogant, and/or pompous ***, but you are F.O.S. stratos... Some of the best fishing is around spawning time... Chances of getting a larger fish, any other time, is slim/nill. You better get to trout fishing, bro! I have gotten a decent lady off of a 5" Berkeley Beast in watermelon. http://www.berkley-f...PURMPBE5-WM.jpg I think it was more irritating to the fish, than an attractant... They are pretty heavy, so no real need to run it on a jig, but I was running it on a 1/4oz jig head... I was given the bait by a friend, already rigged, so I just ran with it... Worked very well! Got a lot of hits off of it, before, and after that fish...
  2. Why don't you just buy decal sheets for a printer, and print your own, and put them onto some white lures? Then, you can make them yourself, and not have to deal with anyone else... And then just clear them.
  3. I was reading about these in field and stream. I haven't heard anything directly about them, but they look like they would add a wiggle to your worm! I was thinking about getting some myself.
  4. I usually just put everything into ziploc bags to keep them fresh, and a bag for the ones I have used and don't want to mix. It keeps the from bleeding into the plastic of your boxes, and or melting... It's like an insulator...
  5. I thought they were a good lure, on my initial look a couple weeks ago. I retract that statement, as it looks like a nice cheat! lol It almost looks too easy to catch fish with them... And if you find the fish, how many of them could even take the snake?

Thanks for the info. That is a very original looking lure, I must say, that I have never ever seen one before, and it would be something really special to have one of those!
  7. Thanks for the info. It looks really awesome! Very professional like! I really like that. Do you sell these? I might be interested in some... Hit me at my email with info. Wickyman@gmail.com Thanks!
  8. Yeah, I only had one really large fish swirl it, then was spooked off by a boat slowly drifting its way back into the canal... I swear, it's irritating, having an almost hit, and someone ruins it! I think I just need to hit the boat more... Shore fishing is irritating, and I don't have the patience for it! lol Thanks for the info. I don't plan on getting another, unless it's one of the ones you, or someone else suggested! I don't want to miss fish, as I catch so few lately!
  9. Awesome. Keep it up!
  10. I make my own lures, and I like them. I like poppers, and frogs. They seem to be the most likely to catch fish, in my area.
  11. That would make my box look inadequate! lol My box is too full as it is, but I think I could squeeze in some more stuff... Another item, that I am having a lot of luck with, as of late, the berkley beast, in the greenish color, works wonders! You will also need some jig heads... JMHO
  12. We also have black crappie on our lake, and as far as I know, there are no regulations about, "panfish" being prohibited as bait... Then again, we are pulling 2-3lb crappie out quite frequently... I think maybe I have had one that a bass could inhale, but that is pretty rare...
  13. I must be lucky, to live in a place with two bass fishing stores, with really considerable prices! Everything from rapala, to local tackle are on the shelves! Japanese imports, and Cali swim baits! I live in Lake County California, the stopping grounds of the bassmaster elite series. I don't know how many of you have heard about that run, but they broke records, and broke them again here! Our bass shops have been on an order frenzy since! Swim baits have also become the most popular lure, of this lake! BPS has recently lost my attention, due to speed! I am using the new mozilla, and all the tricks, but still, it moves like slow dripping molasas! As being on DSL, I hit a site in 1.7 seconds... It's really irritating, plus the point that their prices are screwy! I bet they are growing too big for their britches... If so, that's ok, as the name implies, "BASS PRO STORE". I am not a pro, so why would I need the use of a 650 dollar reel?!
  14. I don't know if this would work, but I found this. It's the rapala custom logo lures... http://www.rapala.com/offers/logo_lure.cfm That was what I was talking about earlier!
  15. Very nice! You are very talented, and have some serious wood working skills! You bought kits, didn't you?! lol JK. I like those, very nice.
  16. Did you use, "hooker stockings", also "fishnet" for the hexagonal shapes on the paint? I have been looking for a long time, trying to figure something out to make a lure look like that... All very great looking lures, in colors that, I, myself would use! I like them!
  17. I just did my first lure, a popper, and it is pretty good, but I don't have the paint yet... I was thinking about going with a color scheme like that first one... I really like how you did that paint! I give you some props! I think it took me almost 3 hours! lol I got good results though... Had the materials been balsa, it would have been about an hour!

That is definitely a very cool bait! Where did you get the spinners? Assuming you rigged this one up yourself?
  19. I think rapala has some kind of custom crank bait... You send them the idea, and they print it on the bait itself... I remember seeing it, just not sure where...
  20. Yeah, I want to get out and get my lure back... I hate having things in trees, but there is always a way to get it back... I guess it's what I get for letting the GF cast my pole... I thought it was all cute, until she let it go too soon, and it went the opposite direction... lol Oh well, it's only a few dollars, if I don't get it back! I think I will though... Just need to use the old walnut shaker... I mean its like maybe 10 feet high on the tree, and like 3 feet over the water, and barely hanging on... I think I can get it back!
  21. I'm more for finding the equipment locally, as I have dealt with expensive things over the internet, and was jerked around... I trust too many people, and get screwed just as easily... lol I try to keep the stress of everything, to a local buy, rather than online. Thanks for the help though! It helps a lot! I wonder if I can get the guy to order the reel for me, and I could pay him for it when it arrives... *ponders*
  22. Thanks for the info! I appreciate it! I am working on a couple top floaters right as we speak. I am carving myself a popper, and a rapala style floater. Next is the frog... I will have to look into more soft frogs, it sounds like they work, you just have to know what you are doing! Awesome info, thank you very much!
  23. What happened to the pictures?! You lose them or just forget?! Just Joshin' ya... I would like to see how they came out.

BURN on the wifey! lol I like that color also, very bright, and liable to attract the fish without a problem... Have you tested it yet? I would like to see the results, in catches, or hits at least... I am very interested in this color combo!
  25. I like that first one! It is very nicely colored! Did you airbrush it? I think I need to get out the airbrush, and paint me some frogs!
