  1. Great job, you live and learn.
  2. Nomad Design just released the live ops which is closer to a strolling drift fry depending the bait you choose, also has adjustable weights on a soft plastic minnow. LIVE-OPS-FRESHWATER – Nomad Tackle I like their jerkbait and the weird topwater Dartwing as they have produced for me. I have no experience with their soft plastics but this looks intriguing.
  3. I don't ice fish and missed an opportunity to get out there today, hopefully tomorrow.
  4. Some wire baits
  5. Pretty sure Lee hasn't been using FFS though he has it. Cox winning would be amazing though.
  6. John Cox doing well, weather says wind for tomorrow. Hope he can keep the bite on. Big Lee Livesay guy too, would love to see him or Cox win this.
  7. Make him start an hour late or dock him 5 pounds. What's next, so called fans intentionally giving anglers info and recording it to see what happens? Or going after guys they don't like .
  8. In every fish counts fishing for schools is a big factor, it wasn't in this tournament mostly. I prefer best five.
  9. That works as well or a combo of both, you won qualifying here's 5k and you can have an extra practice day having a better idea of the weather for the final round.
  10. The reward should be exactly that, a day to practice and find new fish.
  11. Get rid of it on tournament days completely but this should show a difference beween periods for less skilled guys. I guess time will tell. IMO your a pro go catch fish with your boat and motor. Use all electronics during practice then total blackout during tournament days.
  12. New here so lack of pond/lake names is weird. We all catch and release I expect. Fine if you like to be quiet, just comes off weird based on the sites name. Being from the Boston area my fishing seems limited but it is not. Between rivers; Charles and Mystic you can catch everything. My small pond that fishes well for me me is Winter Pond in Winchester, I never do less than a 3-4 and most are from that small stretch of bank. The Mystic River starts right below me, heavy pads but workable plus ther are huge carp as well. Good luck guys and let's all crush it this year.
  13. Small ill go with the Nomad Designs Shikira 115 jerkbait, though I want to say the Rapala OG tiny Coosa. LmB my PB was 8-4 on a 6 inch Manns black worn Texas rigged weightless dropping off the top of cover. I fish less Texas rig lately so I am going to go with a walk the dog type. I do plan to try try punching some heavy lily's from the bank that I know hold some nice fish but we shall see there.
  14. Never used them guess I will keep it that way.
  15. Tbh this question and the replies are confusing. A simple Texas rig weighted or not is si.ple and can be done with any hook. It's the most common weedless rig, just hook it and cast. An owner hook isn't going to be better than any other hook. Just push the hook through, twist and skin hook on either side. Keeps it weedless and the hookset is clean.
  16. This should have said about a year. Came off smug lol. I have a long way to go as most are paint jobs still on blanks.
  17. About a month
  18. So made a 2 Inch minnow carved from bass wood with a small weight forward and a north/south rattle behind the body hook. In the northeast we have lake chub and cool water darters with similar coloring and they look like bass minnows as well. I am not sure what the action will be as it has not seen water but expect it to dance.
  19. Just starting painting
