MLF BPT Stage 4 at Chickamauga/Nickajack
That 7 minute clip is great, d**n MLF got a winner right there. Congratulations to the local boy Lawrence. I remember him saying that a year or more back, people watch hot takes and youtube pays for that. I agree that FFS shouldn't be in tournaments, but it isn't the end of the world. My thoughts are simple; the supporters say it teaches fish behavior like nothing else. Well practice with it, learn and replicate it in the tournament. It shouldn't be an open book test, prove you actually learned from it.

MLF BPT Stage 4 at Chickamauga/Nickajack
Actually a 5-9 on a bladed jig according to the mlf website. Crazy finish logged at 3:45 I prefer 5 best to every fish counts, but I must admit if it is a tight race this format keeps the excitement going.

MLF BPT Stage 4 at Chickamauga/Nickajack
It's interesting that Wheeler was on smallmouth while most were on largemouth. Ott Defoe was on the smallmouth as well the first 2 rounds.

Including today, Gill has caught 50 score able bass, 44 with FFS.

Golden Shiners
They school all the time, and just like any fish they feed so a hatch as mentioned is likely. They get big up here I have caught a 13 inch shiner on a minnow bait in NH.

Limit yourself to 10 lures... what are they?
I am a moving/topwater fisher though my most successful bait is a weightless t-rig 6" Mann's jelly worm. Besides that: plopper/choppo in black or bone Flat sided squarebill Jerkbait Frog Walking bait Swimbait Glide bait Spinnerbait Buzzbait As mentioned T-rig I am a moving/topwater fisher though my most successful bait is a weightless t-rig 6" Mann's jelly worm. What lure(s) are dead last in your arsenal?
Yeah, it's what you are confident in. we all have our preferences, I hope to add more baits to my confidence this year. A punch jig(I bought a setup and lures to try to punch some of the pads you could walk on) I am from New England and I hardly fish a jerkbait. I throw squarebills, t-rigs and and soft minnows mostly when not on the topwater. I think I need to learn to fish a spoon as well, haven't used one since a was a kid.

Same go for the best bag you can get. You are an NC guy so great to hear you are proud and not just saying stay away.

fish it in rougher water than you would expect. I don't know how you fish them as most just cast and reel. But they are similar to a lipless in how they can be used, yoyo ripping grass, etc. But I prefer top water or a weightless Texas rig on weed lines. Surprisingly my best lure last year was a Strike King Bitsy Popper.

Cool, I am not familiar with the sound at all. I remember thinking back to back 30's were unlikely after day 1. The other guys are lucky to get 20. Now 3 in a row, I would love to see him get another 30. His first win will feel great. Will the other 9 anglers left let him do his thing or will someone come close, he seems to have been fishing by himself.

Dropshot Weight
I haven't used live bait in a couple of decades but am considering shiners on a drop shot through a slip bobber. In this case the weight would be heavier to keep the bait exactly where wanted.

Ploppers are back on the menu
Ploppers have always worked for me, I do fish less pressured waters than some. A few hundred feet from my house is a river a quarter mile from Boston harbor, last year 640,000 herring were counted making it to the upper lake miles away. There are some big bass and a lot of ocean stripers chase them through the locks up to the concentration by the dam up river.

Pasquatank river
Book a vacation next year early April and go where Kyle went and flip around a Bronco Bug. You might have to fight off a few other boaters while you are at it though. His results have been wild, I know his home water is a river but not tidal.

Did anyone predict a century belt here?

Favorite wacky worms
I have been fishing for over 40 years, I never fish a wacky never have. I will fish weightless Texas but I am more of a topwater/ moving bait guy.

Grass piece prototype
Interesting blade, seems easy to cut one from sheet metal. Why did you change the wire, originally it wenr higher with a second bend back towards the hook?

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I should have got out yesterday as I had the day off, though not completely free. My son had hip surgery last week so staying home to be there in case. the weather looked nice so figured grab a couple rods and go this afternoon.

Snow up here today, melting on contact. Just another temp swing that messes up the short-term fishing.

Tony Christian
We know Long was snagging, Tony was probably fishing out of a barrel, but we will never know.

Top Classic Baits
Lee trying to be Poche light putting his boat on some shallow bar/island with his camera man on land was the best part of the classic. He was fishing on a stable boat and hooked one on a buzzbait casting from the back, tripped and fell walking to the front of the boat, it jumped and he lost it. A few minutes later they came back to him and he landed a solid on the buzzbait from the same spot.

I thought this about Atomic Buffalo Turds, cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon and thrown on the smoker. Now I am getting hungry. Atomic Buffalo Turds Recipe — Bacon Wrapped, Cheese Stuffed Jalapeños

Get a Marshall on every boat for official weights and do 5 best fish, catch and release. He can bring a camera while he is at it.
