What lure(s) are dead last in your arsenal?

Featured Replies

It’s been literal years since I caught a fish on a crank bait. Lipless cranks being the only ones I ever managed to catch a fish on. Needless to say crank baits don’t see much of any use with me.

Oh yeah - ned rigs.  I have lost 100% of the Ned rigs I have thrown and caught exactly one bullhead catfish that stuck me with his spike and then on the next cast I lost the Ned rig.   I don

Buzzbaits have been severely underperforming year after year for me. Weightless senkos have been falling off, too. Crankbaits are red hot.

Spinnerbaits.  I do use them but my lakes are burned out on them. I can throw a small crankbait and crush them but a spinnerbait is the quickest way to skunksville.

Cranks for sure.

Choppo, haven't caught squat on it, still bringing on board but it might get relegated to the graveyard soon :tongue77:

Glide baits and toads. Got no use for em.

Deep cranks. I don't even keep any in my boat anymore.

Flatfish, being last they don’t make it out of the basement.

Anything finesse. I get bored too easy with it. Crankbaits are my best producers in spring and fall.

Buzzbaits - can't even seem to get the bass looking at them...actually gave the few I had to Gim.

Lipless cranks. People love them. I have tried. I have failed in perpetuity.

Chatterbaits, even the pricey ones. I have been on a great bite, whether spinbaits or T-Rig and switch to a bladed jig, deadsville. Switch back, game on. They just don’t work for me.

I really hope this trend of people not using or believing in my favorite lures continues.  😂😂😂🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙂🙂🙂

For me it was the bladed jig a long time ago and will probably continue to be the bladed jig for the foreseeable future.  I like em fine - they catch fish - I'll throw just about anything else first though.

fish it in rougher water than you would expect.

I don't know how you fish them as most just cast and reel. But they are similar to a lipless in how they can be used, yoyo ripping grass, etc. But I prefer top water or a weightless Texas rig on weed lines. Surprisingly my best lure last year was a Strike King Bitsy Popper.

A bladed jig works fished a variety of ways but I vastly prefer a lipless or spinnerbait or swimjig or squarebill etc.

Yeah, it's what you are confident in. we all have our preferences, I hope to add more baits to my confidence this year. A punch jig(I bought a setup and lures to try to punch some of the pads you could walk on) I am from New England and I hardly fish a jerkbait. I throw squarebills, t-rigs and and soft minnows mostly when not on the topwater.

I think I need to learn to fish a spoon as well, haven't used one since a was a kid.

Whopper plopper, buzzbait and spoons. Underwhelming performance.

I hear ya there. For me, I’ve seen just 2 others in 6 years of bass fishing throw spinbaits. Both, crushed in front me. A major reason why it is my #1 bait.

Bladed jigs. I'll tie one on, occasionally, usually on days when nothing seems to work and of course they don't either. Then, it's back in the box until next time and next time may be next season .

Its been years since I've thrown a Little George or jigging spoons. They work , I catch fish with them but I quit using them.
