  1. I bought some flippin hooks and another s waver 168 (impulse buy).
  2. If you happen to be a disabled vet, I believe it’s free in VA. In AL, it’s a lifetime all game (minus trout and duck) license.
  3. I’d have to say around 6. Fully loaded kayak without propulsion (pedal or electric). Like above, I do have a carbon paddle and I put a keel guard on! I usually carry 8-9 rods and a large blackpack pro with the “extender” on top. I carry about 10 3700 boxes and a few 3600s and a couple of 3500s. I’m not the best angler on the water, but I’ve got gear that says I am!(kinda like a mall crawler jeep 😂😂)
  4. We have 5 public fishing lakes in Alabama managed by DWFP for Alabama. They stock trout in Nov, the lake is closed in Jan and they stock again in January. That’s at my lake here in N Alabama. Its fee is $5. If I’m specifically targeting trout, or I want to take them home, it’s an extra $5. I don’t mind paying that as it goes back to the lake management directly. I’m pretty much a fish and release guy anyway. That said, I live about 10 mins from the TN River and all its tributaries. It’s as free as free can get!
  5. I know it’s completely off topic, but what line is that? I hate boring line. I want something different! One reason I run the seaguar tatx because it’s camo. 😂😂
  6. OP, if you’re bringing a boat, I’ll meet you at Guntersville! I agree with @Tennessee Boy about Guntersville. Depending on where you go, you’re still on Guntersville about an hour from Chickamauga. On your way down, will you stop at Hog Farmer in Chattanooga (N) and pick me up some more spunk shads? 😁😁
  7. Thanks @fishballer06 I want to tie some myself. I am a retired 50 yr old (disabled vet) and I like to pick up hobbies. I’ve been fishing for years now, and just see this as a natural progression. At this time, I don’t want to get into Loring my own jig heads because I just don’t use enough, and have no intention to sell anything. I’m about 45 mins from Lake Guntersville and there are literally hundreds or small bait makers that are in the local tackle shops. That said, I’m looking to buy poured jig heads. I know many places sell them, but does anyone recommend one over the other? I have seen like lure parts online and Barlows, but if I can, I’d rather support a smaller place, builder, etc. Not that I do t want to give the man my money, I do it nearly daily. However, I would rather help the smaller guy out. Bonus if they are a disabled vet! Thanks @Ski I figured the GP and white. Couldn’t figure out a third color! My local Cabela’s has the EZ skirt replacements in the GPS, but I’d rather tie my own. For $5 though for 3, I’m going to pick some up anyway. I really want to have some GPS for the evo’s. I have grown to like them as much as my jackhammers.
  8. I need to spruce up my chatterbaits and am wondering if anyone knows the colors/patterns for the skirt? i want to get into tying jigs, so i figured i would replace some skirts before I start tying some jigs.
  9. Stop. Be quiet. I’ve put a Bass X 6-8” MXF in my cart and taken it out about 20 times now. I do have a bday coming up in 2 weeks however…and then Father’s Day…so that probably justifies at least 2, right?
  10. This cotton headed ninny muggins known as the bait monkey made me go to dicks.com today. $120 later, I have 6 3/8oz jackhammers and 6 1/2oz. All Green pumpkin shad. The sale is buy three, get 3 free. They are $19.99 regularly, but for $10 each, I couldn’t say no…
  11. I have 4, one in each gear ratio, because I like them that much. They are probably used as much as my Curado mgl (which I love).
  12. Spent the morning in Chattanooga. Went to Sorry Custom and grabbed a couple chatterbaits to try and a few open pour 8” swimbaits. While in the area, I went to hog farmer and stocked up on spunk shads…
  13. For us, it was the actual color of the text that most people counterfeited with the company I worked for. Very close, but not our brand standard Pantone colors.
  14. I’ll probably look at the st-36. I’m a bit of an owner fanboy I guess. Their hooks just flat out work. Most of my ewg hooks are in fact gammys
  15. Price/manufacturer, if you could only have one in each category below…. spinnerbait - sv-3, something white jerkbait - MB 110 in pro blue lipless - jackal tn 70 some kind of shad pattern jig - strike king football in black/blue square bill - spro rk crawler crankbait - rapala DT series (usually a Dt6) soft body swimbaits (not trailers) - magdraft 8” hard body swimbait - 6th sense draw im sure this has been asked and answered, so if so, feel free to either merge, delete or move.
  16. I’m sure this has been asked and answered often. But, I didn’t get the right algorithm of search terms to make it… Brand/model irrelevant, what sizes treble hooks do you keep on hand. Is “all sizes” too broad? I’m about to start upgrading all my trebles, so I’m curious… Thanks, Kevin
  17. I can tell you from a manufacturing perspective, that lure could be (and most likely already has been) reverse engineered in probably a day. If you wanted to, I think you could be up and running to produce counterfeit MB lures in about a month or 2, barring raw material availability. I worked for a large named bearing company for a few years. One of the biggest problems we had were counterfeit bearings on the market (everything from train axle bearings down to micro bearings for small dental tools).
  18. Picked up a few lucky craft pointer 127s. Was in Chattanooga this morning and had never been in a sportsman’s warehouse. Stopped in and they had the pointers on sale for $9.99, so I picked up a few…
  19. I started 3d printing mine. Much cheaper that way. I need to find a parametric file though because the ones I’m currently using won’t fit my bigger trebles on some of the larger swimbaits…
  20. I’ve been throwing a lot of 6th sense lately. Why? I don’t know, but for whatever reason I have. I went into my local academy yesterday and noticed their 6th sense inventory was much larger than it used to be. Most swimbaits in stock, terminal tackle, soft plastics and hard baits. Pretty much most of the stuff from their website. Seems like my academy always has stuff on sale too…
  21. US Army 93-04. USAF 05-14. Served a few combat tours overseas. Screwed up mentally and physically now and have been retired/disabled for about 3 years now. 100% service connected disabled through the VA and disabled according to the SS Administration. When people thank me for my service, I’ve tried to respond in a way that’s more than just “thank you.” A good one I heard recently was “my honor”. I think I’m gonna start using that now. As an aside, please, please, please…if you see a Vietnam vet, please tell them welcome home. They were screwed so badly that they had to change into civilian clothes before coming back into the US. One vet said to me one day “you too” to which I replied “thank you, but we were given all of your welcome homes”
  22. Well, not only is it multicolored, it’s colored camo. That way, the fish can’t see it. 😂😂
  23. It’s nearly always on sale at academy. It’s the only braid I throw. Like $15-16 for a 200yd spool. And if it even matters, it comes with maybe 5-10’ of 20lb flouro leader.
  24. I have an SLX DC. I had two, but ones at the bottom of the TN River…I like it, but I find myself still thumbing a little bit. I guess that’s just because that’s what I’ve always done. I had purchased a Curado dc, but honestly, to me, it wasn’t worth the extra $70 over the mgl, so that’s what I have instead. Took the DC back.
  25. I didn’t fish out of it, but yes, I have tested the stability. It’s the same exact model as the SS127 only 2 ft shorter. Width is the same. My SS127 is VERY stable… I stand up fishing in mine very frequently. I do sit a good bit but that’s because I’m lazy (and thanks to the army have a crap knee).
