  1. On my medium lite and medium rods I use no heavier than 10lb braid. On my medium heavy and heavy I will go 15-20. The reason I do that is generally because they will be bigger/heavier baits or have more drag on them coming through the water.
  2. I think it’s a loaded question. What is a good bass angler? Someone who wins tournaments? Someone who only chases trophy size bass? Someone who knows their body of water like the back of their hand? Someone who catches a lot of fish? Someone who catches even when the bite is tough? Everyone measures this differently. Which are you looking to do?
  3. I would never want to guide. I enjoy taking people out who don’t get to do it often. I’ve had many people tell me this was their best day ever. It’s far more rewarding than a paycheck.
  4. If it makes you feel better I broke the skeg and the prop of my TM.
  5. Life is way too short to not enjoy something. If you enjoy fishing go fish! I call off work a couple times a year to fish. Why admit that? Because the sad truth is I am going to work more hours of my life than I am ever going to be fishing. As far as the you don’t have big fish comment. Who cares? Do not ever judge your fishing on anyone else. Whether it’s here, other forms of social media or boat ramp BS. Fish for you. If you truly want that big fish go somewhere to get them if you can. Again, do it for you! if all this means is fishing isn’t for you or you need to take a step back from it that’s fine. I will say it one last time. Fish for you!
  6. @Swamp Girl I’m always puzzled 😂
  7. Just out having some fun!
  8. @Swamp Girl I can tell you right now you would have been embarrassed with my lack of stealth today 😂😂 I was playing plinko with the boat.
  9. Not in the current of the susky
  10. I treat tournament guys like I do anyone else.
  11. The short answer is yes. The longer answer is kind of.
  12. I cannot comment for a kayak. I can tell you that if the wind is constantly changing you will always go bow into any wind or current. I fish tons of current so spot lock is essential for me.
  13. The good ol susky is on the BR list!
  14. @OldManLure nope you are 100% correct! @Tackleholic everyone has what makes it fun for them! Not knocking anyone who does those things. I just know where I’m at in my fishing career or lack there of 😂 @Don Preller i do enjoy the puzzle as well. @DaubsNU1 same! My log actually out together as a photo album. @Bird safety I am serious about that!
  15. @DaubsNU1when I was into musky fishing I used to keep a log. Body of water, Lure, lure depth, retrieve speed, water temp, water clarity, water depth, structure/cover, wind, weather, moon phase, major/minor, time, date, picture You know much all that helped me? None lol
  16. Holidays on the river really do not change that much. Usually just more people floating down. More drunk ignorant cat fishermen clogging up the bank. this still could happen any day of the week on the river. I am sure the lakes suck though.
  17. I hate fishing in the rain. I hate being wet. I hate all my equipment getting wet. Can’t say it’s better. I do like fishing a few days after. Depending on how the water level is going to be.
  18. @Darth-Baiter I have seen kayak dudes way more serious than me lol. @Swamp Girl I get that. If I ever want to beat my head over a log on a day of fishing illl go musky fishing 😂 @Joedodge slower days sometimes I will use it was exploring time. I do throughly enjoy finding an area I’ve overlooked for years. @12poundbassI was working a ton up until recently. I used to take fishing way to serious and I think that was some of my issue. @rboatyeah buddy! @MotobossI have been very lucky this year to not skunk much. I have had some really rough days though.
  19. @A-Jay you my friend are a big brown bass chaser. I do not have the time to dedicate to what you accomplish. It doesn’t happen by accident what you do. @Joedodge I am happy having a day full of dinks. A mixed bag. Or a slower day but all bigger.
  20. @GreenPig people get really confused. I would say I’m rather atypical.
  21. I know that is an oxy moron so let me explain. I love fishing. I want to be out doing it. I have decent equipment. A decent boat. Nothing crazy. I do not keep up with the latest fads and trends. I do not go out with the intent of breaking my PB. I never keep track of how many I’ve caught. I do not really measure anything. I just enjoy going out. I want to catch some fish, have a good time and come home safe. Can anyone else relate to this?
  22. The farthest I have gone in one day is 3.5 hours.
  23. I think stretches of the susky fish completely different than others. Different water levels fish differently. I do struggle with lakes at times but, I don’t fish them often enough.
  24. @bartnc37 I am all rock and gravel. I spend most my time on plane if the motor is running. Reversing off the sand bars is probably doing it.
