  1. I can’t really say I find live fishing tournaments that exciting to watch. It’s live they don’t catch fish every cast just like we don’t. If you want better entertainment value watch an actual fishing show. I do still watch it when I get the chance. Look up when they catch something then go back to whatever else had me occupied
  2. I guess this thread jinxed me. I got stopped today on the boat. Was a very good exchange!
  3. I have had them bump into me while fishing on lakes. It was my fault because “I am powered I’m the giveaway” I said that is not the case when I am in the act of fishing.
  4. @gimruis the problem with wake boats is they are designed for just that. Throwing huge wake. I even think some have ballast tanks in them to fill up to create more.(could be wrong) Not saying it’s right I’m just saying it’s like expecting someone to go slow on a crotch rocket. I am short. If I sit down in my boat or even my old boat I struggled to see over the TM. It can hide a kayak very easy. Just like a mirror in a truck can hide a car.
  5. It seems like the general consensus here is they are good and we want more of them. That speaks volumes for the character of anglers on this forum. Willing following laws to help ensure a safe, clean and enjoyable fishing experience. When we all think that way it just makes better/safer waterways for all.
  6. Enjoy retirement buddy! I know I will never be able to retire. Anyone who can more power to them you earned it!
  7. Most are very nice introduce themselves ask for the normal safety stuff thank me for my cooperation and go onto the next. I had two minor disagreements. One my throwable was already put away after my boat was trailered and I was packing up to leave as he came over. the other was life jackets have to be readily accessible where throwable has to be immediately available. Which they interpreted differently than I. Personally I would love to see more of them out.
  8. One of the reasons I wanted to switch to the boat I did was to be able to see better out of it. That’s why many river rats choose the center console option. We also tend to stand up at the console. I am sure this is probably against a boating law I would really have to check. Kill switch and PFD on. I could see why this person would have issues seeing the kayaker. That does not negate him from being the give-way vessel. With that much open water there really is no excuse to get that close to anyone else period. In PA I believe a sound device is required on kayaks.
  9. @MediumMouthBass agreed. i also think the vanish as good abrasion resistance which is what I am after. I used good stuff for main line.
  10. @slonezp makes sense. The rivets would allow the boat to flex and absorb. The welds make it very stiff. No one around here would touch a non welded hull. So I do not have any experience with them. We will punch holes in them before we hit two foot rollers everytime out.
  11. Set the hook into everything that feels weird like it owes you money. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose.
  12. It’s a bass tracker in drag! Kidding sweet looking boat. That price tag for aluminum though ouch.
  13. What I do right? I have fun. What I do wrong? Im pretty sure I have everyone else beat here.
  14. No different than a pro hockey team, basketball, baseball. Travel, practice compete. They luckily do not have to do the driving on their own.
  15. @gimruis wasn’t your thread titled my trailer is growing? I am going to get some red lock tight and some lock washers for the u bolts since none of that was down. I just put blue lock tight on for now.
  16. @gimruis I do remember you posting something similar. Our trailers take a lot of abuse and do not get the TLC our boats do.
  17. I know most of us are very much in tune with our boat maintenance. Do not forget to go over your trailers! This weekend I recently had a U bolt connecting my winch to the trailer tongue come loose and slide while I put the final cranks on the boat. With the season starting to come into full swing the nuts and bolts of the trailer are often overlooked.
  18. I can say even as an adult social media got to me. Keeping up with the jones. Look at those people doing this aren’t they lucky. I do not use any of it but this bass fishing forum. I do want to start an Instagram for my dog. I just never do because it’s “giving in”. I was very lucky to be at the beginning of social media in my high school years. I hope this guy is innocent. It could very well be true it could very well be not. I am glad no one was injured. At least that will not have to weigh on this kids soul and family’s mind.
  19. @JediAmoebawhrn you get 50-70 boats plus gof only knows how many kayak paddle boards sail boats on a 500 acre lake you run out of room and patience quick. @TnRiver46the fish and boat commission here only cares about life jackets and trout season. It took a decade of them denying fish kills on the river for them to do anything. Once pretty much everyone stopped fishing it they said if there is an issue
  20. @AlabamaSpothunter that’s why I stopped fishing lakes.
  21. @JediAmoeba people know nothing about crowds or fishing pressure till they fish eastern PA. It’s nothing to have 3 boats in casting distance of each other. I don’t mean long casts either. The river it’s even worse because the fish pile into certain areas.
  22. It will most certainly at as a funnel.
  23. @Catt sorry I did not proof read what I wrote. I meant it would be less stable lol. So I agree with you. I will fix my error on my post.
