No lizards in the lake but the lzard still works..
No Craws in the lake but the craw works great, no mice in the lake; I've had luck with them. Most importantly, no worms in the lake but they are the most productive lures... I think bass just go after anything that is attracting/hypnotising. all these companies try to make the most realistic plugs and plastices, but I don't think it is that important. What do you all think?

Why am I telling you this...?

Why am I telling you this...?
Today I wanted to get a new lure and didn't feel like driving 30 minutes to Basspro. So I went to the Sports Authority, and looked around. I bought a bag of Zoom Ultravibe craws in watermelon seed. I caught 17 bass today (largest looking around 6 lbs, didn't have my scale with me), using only this lure on a lake near me that I usually don't have that great of luck on. The weird thing was I was using it on the top like a Horney Toad, and it worked 10x better than a horney toad. It caught more, and it was about 10x easier to set the hook. I only missed two or three. Has anyone else used the ultravibe craw like this?

Need help with a setting a hook with a 7" Senko
Set up a reel with braid, so you can set the hook through that much plastic.

bullets and fishing
I'm glad that I have never had a confrontation or anything of the sort here. It seems that here in central Florida anyone who is on the lake or river (duck hunter/ angler) is generally pretty cool. I don't feel like I would need a weapon to protect myself here.

Fishing Golf Course Ponds
I live in the Windermere Club here near Orlando. I am a member of the club, and I fish the ponds all the time. My dad loves to golf, but I would rather fish on the ponds. I can fish on any pond that is not in the way of golf traffic whenever I want, and on tuesdays the course is closed, so I can fish anywhere. A lot of times groups of kids show up and fish, and sometimes people looking for food, but they are always kicked out pretty quickly. The fishing is great, there is bass, catfish, all types of bream, and some carp. My biggest bass ever was caught here at 9 pounds and an ounce. Thats why my name is GolfCoursePondMan

skipping with a baitcaster?
If I was learning, I would just tighten it up a little bit.

Other ways to work a swimbait?
I'm using a Storm bluegill.

using a popper
Down, unless your line is really stuck to the water.

pond fishing
Make sure you stay about ten feet from the shore, as to not spook em. Pond bass may be only a foot from the shore. Good Luck GC Pondman

Other ways to work a swimbait?
What's up everyone, I am brand new to fishing with swimbaits, and I was wondering if there is anything that works better than a steady retrieve. I've been just reeling it in steadily at whatever speed to keep it where I think the bass are hanging out. I appreciate your help Peace, GC Pondman

A terrible wake up call
Thats awful. I've capsized a couple times sailing and just that is a scary situation, even with life jackets and the warm Florida water. What a horrible way to go. They will be in my prayers, GC Pondman

Makes me sick.
I CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE MENTIONED THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT BIG BASS I once read an article in Field&Stream that discussed very large bass. It compared them to people that grow 7ft tall and huge, and how rare this is in nature. Biologically the bass that grow this size are just as rare as humans this size. The vast majority of bass will not reach the 10lb+ size. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW is that big bass (just like big people), carry a domanant trait to thier offspring. This means the huge bass' offspring are likely to grow huge like thier parents. Simillar to how tall people have tall kids. If this guy continues to wipe out the big bass population in the lake, it will be much harder to catch one this size in the future. This guy needs to know this and maybe he will stop. It's just so ignorant, I can't believe it. GolfCoursePondMan

Ever tried this?
I live in the Orlando area, and a great bait to use in canals is a lizard on the topwater. I burn it about 5 feet, then slow it down. At about 10-15 feet, if I don't get hit, I let it sink. Give it a try man, I like any lizard that has blue glitter on the bottom, or just junebug. Peace, GolfCoursePondman

Small Pond Fishing
Its all about the senko, and I can prove it. GC Pondman

LILLY PADS
Take a bubble gum or white trick worm weedless and weightless. Cast right into the pads, retrieve slowly, weaving it around and in-between pads, and jiggle it here & there... WHAM-O!!! you might get a nice hit right on the topwater. Make sure to use stronger line than usual so you can pull 'em through the pads. Peace, GolfCoursePondMan

'Angel-Hair' Algae
I just got home from fishing the ponds at the golfcourse I live near, and I was putting up with the green mush, like always. I was fishing with a senko, and you can take the algae off your bait without ruining your retreive. When I know there is some algae on there, I point the rod tip down and snap it with a little more force than you would if you were setting the hook. Give it a try man. GolfCoursePondMan

rain
Yeah, I agree with Ghoti, the Jr. Zara Spook has been a great producer for me in the rain.

Live Bluegill?
Thanks a lot for this great advice. I do most of my fishing inshore, and I was wondering if you can use a chugging float like we use on the inshore flats with bluegill to catch bass, or if they scare the bass? If using this ,would I rip it as if it were a D.O.A. shrimp, or just jiggle it for noise every once in a while? P.S. I use my thow net to the bluegill. Golf Course Pond Man

Live Bluegill?
I've heard of some people around here (FLA) catching big bass with live bluegill. I definantly want to give this a try but I don't know how I should rig 'em. Also, I was wondering if this really works good, or is it just a rumor? Thanks for helping, Golf Course Pond Man
