Smallest Bass Boat
I have a bass tracker classic xl 2019 40th anniversary edition its 16'9 long. I also came from a kayak a nucanoe unlimted. I prefer my boat by a wide margin but miss the kayak's ability to launch in alot more places, but I woudlnt trade the ability to get up and go for anything. The classic xl cant handle rough water at all, I almost died my second time out. Im already planning my next boat, I fish big water and want a 20 foot lund pro v.

"Last cast" glory!!!
Wife and Kids and I went away for the weekend rented a cottage with a dock so I brought my boat. Wife and I managed to sneak out at 530 am for 3 hours. We got on a nice senko bite and my wife caught her first bass a LM dink but it was great. I was en fuego for about 30 minutes catching some small bass 1.5 to 2.5 pounders, but it was great as I was teaching my wife how to recognize when the fish has actually taken the senko and how to set the hook properly as she was getting alot of bites but getting to anxious with the hookset. Then it gets to be 8amish and of course the time is getting to be time to get back to the cabin as my mom was watching the kids. My wife does not know "last cast" is actually about a 30 minute time period. So then I say "Ok this is the last cast for real......" I bomb the watermelon red fleck T rigged senko to the heavens and it hits the water and no lie 2 seconds later a 3 pounder jumps out of the water about 2 feet flapping its tail as the sun is shining on it, I did't even feel him take the senko he must have hit it from below and just kept going into the air like a champ. It was like something from a movie... the fish goes back into the water I set the hook and just start laughing in amazement as it was actually the "last cast" and I say to her "This is why we fish baby" I land the fish and just laugh at him and toss him back into the water. Was an amazing moment I got to share with my wife that I will never forget. I had been in a massive slump bass fishing and had been targeting perch just to be able to catch something, this weekend I got my mojo back and am happy.

Should have bought a boat - maybe
I'm going to pick up a bass tracker classic 40th anniversary edition tomorrow for many of the same reasons. I just want to be able to boot around and stand and pitch t rigs and skip docks without having to worry about falling into the water.

Two 10" garmin ultra or one 12" for kayak?
Found a good sale on garmin ultras. Trying to decide between, two 10" screens or one 12" for my nucanoe unlimited Thinking of upgrading to LS maybe next year and think the extra screen just for that could be beneficial.

Setting up your kayak

Liverwell aerator and bildge cut out at same time?
I will ask when I soeak to him later on, are you saying that as it is an aerator and bidlge pump issue it could be a "pump issue" thats effecting both the bildge and the livewell? Thanks

Liverwell aerator and bildge cut out at same time?
Spoke to a guy today who has a 2010 bass tracker 160 pro for sale, has a 40hp EFI Merc and has been kept inside when not in use. It looks to be in pristine shape. However the guy says the last time he took it out last year the bidlge pump and aerator for the livewell just cut out and he has no idea why. I have never owned a boat and am NOT handy however my son is an electrician. Is this cause for great alarm and should I run away? I did a quick search and seen it could be a simple grounding of the battery issue? He is the second owner and bought it off an old man 6 years ago. He is asking what would be 8k USD.

Best way to improve?
Thanks for the response. I fished as a kid, but am practically brand new again. I generally fish for Pike, Perch and Bass. I will check out that link, Im trying to absorb alot of info, I got a Bass U TV subscription and listen to a lot of podcasts. I used to bowhunt and am now starting to see alot of paralells with respect to understanding seasonal patterns and feeding habits etc. I will check out that link you put in your reply. I understadn things take time, Im just eager to make every outing on the water a learning experience along with enjoyment of getting out Thanks again for taking the time.

Best way to improve?
So I got back into fishing last year and am loving it. I'm fortunate to he at an age where I'm able to buy toys within reason amd got myself a nice kayak and a bunch of baitcasters and some spinning set ups. I want to consistently improve this season. My question is this.... is it better to focus on a couple of different tactics each outing, say one outing I do jerkbaits amd texas rigs all day then the next outing I do chatterbaits and top water and progress down the line finding out what I prefer then focus in say 4 techniques overall? Or is it best to just "junk fish" I found last year I kinda got paralysis by analysis and couldn't really make up my mind what to do. I currently really like topwaters, whacky worms and jigs. Thanks.

Bass boat storage
Yeah the way your speaking I see absolute disaster with boat ownership for you based on finances alone. You know boat stands for "bust out another thousand". You can get a sweet kayak for $1500 new. It is a terrible idea to buy a boat then have to sell it for less just because you can't afford it.

Lews Pro SP reel?

Garmin 95sv UHD 2 w/GT56UHD vs Garmin EchoMap 106sv Ultra w/GT56UHD
I got a 12v 30ah for a fish finder, got it black friday for a good price.

Garmin 95sv UHD 2 w/GT56UHD vs Garmin EchoMap 106sv Ultra w/GT56UHD
Hoping to get some feedback from people on which unit to purchase. I can get the Ultra for $1799 (CAD) down from $2900. I can also get the UHD2 for $1150 if I wait for it to go on sale again as it's sitting at $1750 right now and I refuse to pay full price for things. I'm a kayak guy, I was on bass pro the other day to compare screen sizes and really felt like the extra 1" of the 106 screen was a HUGE bonus. The extra size is nice (that's what she said) and screen/image clarity are of high Importance to me. The Ultra usually comes with the GT 54 transducer and the UHD2 comes with the GT 56 transducer and from some YouTube videos I have seen the 56 is alot better. Which is what was holding me back from the Ultra to begin with, but figured the higher screen resolution could offset the lower quality transducer but now that I've found the Ultra with the GT56 I'm really thinking about busting out the Visa. Any input would be appreciated, thank you.

Need help/advice on my combos please.
So Im new to the world of baitcasters, have not fished really since I was a tennager 30 years ago and alot has changed, best change is my ability to afford gear. I have 5 rods and 5 reels I will list and Im hoping to see what y'all think I should pair with what based on what Im looking to do. The techniques I know how to use at a beginner level and use with meager success are as follows. Jigs, worms, spinner baits, whopper ploppers. Im looking to expand my use of skipping jigs, jerkbaits, crankbaits, chatterbaits, flipping/punching matted vegitation, texas rigs and swimbaits I also REALLY like skipping lures but am not that great at it yet but for me the sight of that jig skipping along the water into a spot I aimed at is like hitting a golf ball exactly how you envisioned it, its heaven. My current gear is as follows. Rods. Lews Signature Series andy Montgomery Skipping Rod 6'10 H/F Abu Garcia Veritas 6'6 HM/F 13 Fishing Rely Black 6'7 M/F 13 Fishing Omen Black Gen 3 "kayak" 7'4 MH/XF and a 7'4 H/F Reels Lews Pro Skipping and Pitching reel 8.3:1 short spool only like 40yards of line fit 13 Fishing Origin F1 6.6:1 13 Fishing Origin C 8.8:1 13 Fishing Inception 8.3:1 13 Fishing Concept A2 8.3:1/ 25lb drag its a beast really love that reel Obviously the skipping combo its the Lews which Im very happy with ( I love Andy Montgomery he's a character) and I also have the Concept A2 reel with 65lb braid paired with the 7'4 Heavy fast for mat punching. When I did my inventory before this post I didnt realize I had so many 8 to 1 gear ratio reels. Im obviously going to need a 7 to 1 and Ive been eyeing the new tatula 100 with the hyperdrive. at this point in my journey Im looking to get mid tier gear thats good value for the price and once I gain experience and really figure out which tactics I gravitate towards then Ill start looking at higher end set ups. Ive been reading that a moderate/fast action is best for crankbaist and chatter baits. Also open to line poundage and type suggestions, as well as rod suggestions. thank you in advance to anyone that takes the time to look at this and offer me advice.
