I go through that at times too. I have too many things I enjoy, and sometimes I just get burnt out on it too. I'm fired up to fish more this year just due to the winter we had. It's the first time in years that all of our lakes are either already full or will be. I've been out more since March than I was all last year. Back to the topic of this thread my answer is "Boat ramp shenanigans".

I use the Tatula TTU6101MXS for wackys. I like the extra fast tip on it.

IMO you're overthinking it. I've got 4 or 5 of those BG reels and wouldn't think of replacing them. Unless I wanted something lighter. Like I said, it's just my opinion.

Texas rig for me. Only because I’ve only fished a Carolina rig a handful of times. I do plan on trying it more this summer though.

Use what you like man. I’m primarily a baitcaster but I don’t think I’d catch any less fish with straight spinning either.

I’ve never tried it. But it does look like it would be best suited for rock.

This is it for me. It’s what I learned with. I am throwing a jig a lot more than I used to these days though. There’s nothing like a topwater bite. Early morning or evening it’s what I go with first. My topwater combo is about my lowest end stuff. Loomis GL2 PR844 and a Tatula CT 100.

My SLX MGL’s are just as smooth as my Curados. But the Curados feel much more solid to me.

Thanks man. I played around with it more when I got home. With a 1/15 Ned and TRD bait I got it casting pretty good with my MGL. But the more I think about it I really think I’ll pick up a BFS reel for it. Since I pretty much only fish from a boat I don’t need a ton of distance, but another 10 yards or so would be better. Plus I just want another new reel…

Like I said, I tried it and I could get a Ned out about 20-25 yards. It'll have a home in the arsenal for sure.

Got the rod today. I brought in a SLX MGL to try on it. It works OK rigged up with a 1/15 ned. But not the distance I was hoping for. I will probably end up putting a Curado BFS reel on it.

I’ve got two of the previous gen Plano guide boxes. One for 3600 & one for 3700’s. Plus they have the plastic lid and bungee on the top to hold an external box as well.
