The worst thing about bass fishing
I go through that at times too. I have too many things I enjoy, and sometimes I just get burnt out on it too. I'm fired up to fish more this year just due to the winter we had. It's the first time in years that all of our lakes are either already full or will be. I've been out more since March than I was all last year. Back to the topic of this thread my answer is "Boat ramp shenanigans".

Carolina rig vs jig vs Texas rig…what’s been more productive for you
- Medium for wacky/T rig?
I use the Tatula TTU6101MXS for wackys. I like the extra fast tip on it.- Drop Shot Rod and Reel Balance
IMO you're overthinking it. I've got 4 or 5 of those BG reels and wouldn't think of replacing them. Unless I wanted something lighter. Like I said, it's just my opinion.- Carolina rig vs jig vs Texas rig…what’s been more productive for you
Texas rig for me. Only because I’ve only fished a Carolina rig a handful of times. I do plan on trying it more this summer though.- tomorrow i am going to try the Free-Rig.
Yeah, I didn’t think that one all the way through- I never use baitcasting reels
I didn’t say it would be easy. Or the gear would fit as well. But if I had to I could. But I don’t want to.- My Soft Plastics Arsenal (Any Holes You Think I Should Fill?)
I’m in the same boat, tons of stuff I’ve never used. That reminds me, I need some Hellgrammites…- I never use baitcasting reels
Use what you like man. I’m primarily a baitcaster but I don’t think I’d catch any less fish with straight spinning either.- tomorrow i am going to try the Free-Rig.
I’ve never tried it. But it does look like it would be best suited for rock.- GLX 844c MBR
That would be a killer setup ?- The latest sale thread
Discount Tackle started their Pre-Memorial day sale. 20-25% off of a lot of stuff.- GLX 844c MBR
In the words of @waymont “a 834 & 844 will cover 99% of your needs “. Or at least that was pretty close to what he said ?- i can name my SINGLE favorite bass fishing technique. (to help me shop)
This is it for me. It’s what I learned with. I am throwing a jig a lot more than I used to these days though. There’s nothing like a topwater bite. Early morning or evening it’s what I go with first. My topwater combo is about my lowest end stuff. Loomis GL2 PR844 and a Tatula CT 100.- Love my slx xt but...
My SLX MGL’s are just as smooth as my Curados. But the Curados feel much more solid to me.- Finesse Jig Setup?
Awesome rod.- My Soft Plastics Arsenal (Any Holes You Think I Should Fill?)
Dude, no ProductoLure Tournament worms?- Peg your T-Rig?
Depends on the cover.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
- Would this be considered a BFS rod?
Thanks man. I played around with it more when I got home. With a 1/15 Ned and TRD bait I got it casting pretty good with my MGL. But the more I think about it I really think I’ll pick up a BFS reel for it. Since I pretty much only fish from a boat I don’t need a ton of distance, but another 10 yards or so would be better. Plus I just want another new reel…- Would this be considered a BFS rod?
Like I said, I tried it and I could get a Ned out about 20-25 yards. It'll have a home in the arsenal for sure.- Would this be considered a BFS rod?
Got the rod today. I brought in a SLX MGL to try on it. It works OK rigged up with a 1/15 ned. But not the distance I was hoping for. I will probably end up putting a Curado BFS reel on it.- Large Tackle Bag Replacement
- Medium for wacky/T rig?
