  1. Spinnerbait - No preference, never caught a spinnerbait fish Jerkbait - Lucky Craft Pointer 100 Live Threadfin Shad Lipless - Lucky Craft LV500 Live Threadfin Shad, MS Crack, Delta Craw Jig - Dirty Jigs California Swim Jig Citrus Shad Square Bill - Lucky Craft LC0.5 and 1.5 many colors Crankbait - No preference never really throw anything but the LCs above Soft Body Swimbait - Keitech Fat Swing Impact Sight Flash Hard Body Swimbait - G Ratt Sneaky Pete Bone
  2. You're going down a rabbit hole, especially when it comes to jerkbait hooks. Like @Choporoz said 2/4/6/8 will cover 90% of your typical bass lures. Owner ST-36 is a good benchmark round bend treble Gamakatsu EWG for tipped in points. I prefer the heavy STX zowire hooks for striper
  3. First cast this morning off the dock, new PB striper. Absolutely freight trained a full size A rig.
  4. I think you will be fine. I throw jerks in that same size range on the Dobyns SUF 7' LF which has identical ratings to the Icon. I don't find a shorter rod to be a huge advantage for BFS jerks since the motion is such a tiny pop.
  5. Tree branch on a back cast, exploded beyond any hope of saving.
  6. I use the owner SSW cutting point hooks for sharks/rays in the bay and they seem to work fine. Didn't pick them for any reason beyond availability.
  7. LV500 for me. Burn and pause or yoyo off the bottom it gets bit.
  8. Nichols and Dirty Jigs 25% off at Omnia
  9. Tranx 150 and curado mgl 150 are identical size wise, they share the same body.
  10. I don't own any but I have a buddy who runs a couple Kastking sharkys and I think a spartacus and liked them. I will toss out a rec for the Okuma avenger, I have a couple on loaner rods and they're solid for ~$30.
  11. I tried to ignore the ALF Dobyn's rebate deal, but I failed. And of course I cant add a new rod to the stable without a reel
  12. I have no hands on experience with that particular reel but if you're just after something cheap to learn on it will probably serve you fine. The brakes and spool are likely identical to the LFS, I suspect it's just a much cheaper frame and lacks the double bearing supported pinion. Performance will probably be similar but the LFS is built like a tank and will last forever with proper care.
  13. 5" wacky senko watermelon red flake 3.8" keitech on a 3/0 flashy swimmer
  14. Definitely different frames. The 200 is roughly 1/8" wider.
  15. Recently been using the dobyns extreme football jigs. Nice colors, hand tied skirts, gammy hooks and they come in a 3 pack for $11
  16. Guides are alconite per the tags on the rod. The 75 isn't particularly light, 5.4oz on my scale but it balances well with a fully spooled usdm zillion, right at the lock nut.
  17. Lew's speed spool LFS + 600 yard spool of 12lb Yo Zuri hybrid should be right around $120 with tax.
  18. I kept the monkey at bay for a couple months, but I'm a weak man. Picked up a couple spools of line, and the new TB micro a-rig plus some 2.75 swammers. Also grabbed the Tatula to free up a Zillion for...
  19. I haven't fished either of them, but they are both essentially rebranded existing options. the PX is an Alphas AIR TW, the Tatula BF is a toned down Salamandura Air.
  20. With line that light and spinning tackle I usually just tie a uni/uni knot. Even with something like 10 wraps each side the knot is tiny, no issues sitting on the spool or going through guides or line roller.
  21. TW Daily deal is the Daiwa DX Type-H glass reaction rod 25% off https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-DAIWAROD.html?from=basres
  22. It's definitely 20% off gift cards, add one to cart and the discount will show. They advertise it as getting anything on the site 20% off as this is their workaround for brands that don't allow sales, megabass, shimano etc.
  23. The hookup tackle 20% off gift cards
