I like my Nasci 1k but the 2 piece bail is a little annoying with light braid, Miravel has the same 2 piece I believe. Digitaka has Ultegras for ~106USD, definitely prefer my Ultegra to the Nasci.

It wouldn't have the paint and eye but you could do essentially the same thing with a T-rig. EWG hook, bullet weight and peg. Add a punch skirt if you want strands.

Yeah all the hog farmer rigs flex, even stiffer wire rigs like the yumbrellas flex if you give them a good pop. Yum has a 3 wire rig as well but it's built reverse of the hogfarmer with 2 wires up top and 1 below which wouldn't be optimal for 2 hooks.

Hog Farmer 3 wire might be your best bet. Run 2 hooks on the bottom arms + 1 teaser up top. 2 hooks on a 5 or 6 wire rig is going to be tough to balance, you would almost be better off just running 1 hook on the center wire as I almost never get strikes on the outside baits.

Bantam/Tat Elite size comparison

If you're comfortable buying reels from Amazon they regularly have the elites under $200.

Tatula Elite. Not as small to palm as the Bantam but a good bit lighter and more line capacity for heavy braid. I think my Bantams only hold about 75-80 yards of 65lb Sufix. I believe their rated drags are identical 11lbs.

I signed up for auto renewal last year when they went to calendar year and my 2024 license doesn't show a price increase for basic or double rod.

I think they might be the best eating fish, the steaks taste like lobster. With the updated regs in California we're allowed to take 1 per year slot of 42-48 inch and you have to buy a sturgeon report/tag on top of your normal license. Also have to fish them with barbless hooks.

Thanks man, 44lb but 50" so outside the new slot and it went free. We did also get a 26lb 44" slot so no tag soup this year. All bit on eel today.
