  1. @IYAOYAS sounds like big glides is the ticket
  2. @IYAOYAS depending on the action, swimbaits or a punch rod.

  4. Compared to a legit ST36 from TW they look even worse! Thanks again everyone for the quick help. Moral of the story is always check your Amazon orders closely, not 3 years after you buy something, and support real tackle shops and vendors.
  5. I have only tried the sneaky underspin, great head but expensive.
  6. @Hartwood71 unfortunately I purchased them in 2023 so I will have to eat the cost, but it's not a big deal. My fault for not noticing then and just tossing them in the hook box until they were actually needed haha.
  7. @Hartwood71 I actually just referenced your hook weight chart as well and my hooks are way overweight coming in at a full gram.
  8. @Motoboss yeah there's definitely something off about them. Guess I'm just looking for a sanity check before I replace them but all evidence points to getting a return from Amazon that someone scammed.
  9. @Motoboss they have been in a box forever but probably did come from Amazon. Actual photos not marketing shots of the #4 online all appear to be an inline hook so guessing someone swapped/returned them.
  10. I was replacing the hooks on a couple baits today and noticed an oddity with my #4 Owner ST36-BC trebles. For whatever reason my pack of #4 has an offset eye and the wire gauge seems oddly large. #4 "ST-36BC" with offset hook eye Every other example I have of the ST-36BC, size 10,8,6,1,2,2/0 all have an in-line eye Even these Owner tournament feather trebles that say they are built on a #4 ST-36 are in-line. So I'm just curious, did I get a pack of counterfeits? incorrectly packed wrong model? is the #4 just an oddball hook? etc. If anyone has a pack of #4 ST-36BC they can check I would appreciate it.
  11. 12 fish today. 9 striper 3 bass, but 2 of the right bass.
  12. Definitely. I fished the karashi on the 701 before I purchased the icon. It works fine but it actually felt a little overpowered for the bait. The softer tip of the icon also helps with the super fast twitch retrieve. No experience with the Dobyns 700 or any solid tip bfs rods.
  13. I honestly haven't tied anything but the karashi on it yet but I think treble hard bait is its lane. I would definitely describe it as whippy, the tip is lighter and more moderate than the Dobyns 701c I typically use for single hook baits.
  14. I've been really happy fishing karashi on the cashion icon 7l. I have the slight update version of the slx bfs spooled with 6lb maxima ultra green and it casts great.
  15. 25 fish day. Mostly striper but this lil guy popped on the Karashi 80.
  16. I don't want to strip line and check but I own both the usdm 150 and jdm 100 and I'm pretty sure the spools are basically identical. I would have no issues using the 100 for chatters.
  17. Bantam MGL. I like the 6 for chatters but a 7 is probably more versatile.
  18. Been using and abusing a KastKing blowbak for years, cheap and works great.
  19. For casting rods I have a little spool clamp attached to a workbench in the garage. For spinning I just put the spool on the floor whatever face up it needs for line to come off counter clockwise.
  20. @Eric 26 I just helped a buddy put together a jerkbait combo, Dobyns Kaden 610-4CB and a Tatula 80 with 10lb invizx. I played with it yesterday and it casts and works the Karashi 80 beautifully.
  21. Slx 70 Aldebaran mgl if you're feeling spendy
  22. Quick Sunday morning session, popper bite was on, but with the unusually warm weather and spring break boat traffic was pretty bad and messing with the top water action. First time I've had to deal with aircraft wakes
  23. Keitech fat, Xzone Swammer, Rapala Mayor are my trinity. Usually throwing on an owner flashy swimmer weedless. 6th sense crappie heads for BFS sizes.
  24. Cinch it slow and pull the braid wraps back as you go so they don't bunch up unevenly
