  1. Did someone say Spin Nut? (On the bottom)
  2. Exactly. This is what I mean when I call it legit performance gear. You stay cooler and more comfortable which means you can better focus on the fishing...and possibly fish even longer. Not to mention keeping your skin safer. Truly worth the investment.
  3. Good stuff! Let us know how it works out.
  4. Yes, I've used these when I was throwing "poop baits" last year. I used the smallest size, weightless Texas rigged. Weightless because with just a hook they come in at a 1/4oz! I used light and dark colors...and pink. And they all seemed to work. I'd cast, let them sink. Then jerk, jerk, jerk to get them off the bottom...and allow them to sink again. Repeat.
  5. I wish you all the best in your recovery. My dad is in the exact same situation...except he's not going to make it. Today is the last Fathers Day I'll have with him The sun doesn't play around, friends. Please protect yourself appropriately.
  6. My favorite sun hoodie is by Outdoor Research, but the cost is prohibitive. But I have been using a very good one sourced on Amazon that ticks the boxes for me. Hood, mask, vented along arms and flank, nice material and priced right at $30. I layer as needed under it. I wear the same thing in the fall, just with a merino base. I'd recommend. https://a.co/d/472CcBM And I second the recommendation for a good hat. I choose what is widely regarded as one of the best sun hats by most serious outdoor sites. Its packable, it's lightweight, it breathes, keeps the sun off my face and neck, it's quality, has glasses keepers, etc etc Having used it the last couple of years this is an exceptional piece of gear. While the style is a bit odd, it's not enough to discourage me from wearing it. I consider this a legit piece of performance gear. I perform better with it on. This is a never leave home without piece of gear for me now. https://sundayafternoons.ca/collections/mens/products/ultra-adventure-hat?variant=41558386966701 As seen in the picture below from a couple of days ago, it's a combo I wear often!
  7. And if you need REALLY small sizes, the Ryugi Infini Hobbit is the way to go.
  8. Ok. I understand. They work a bit differently. You TWIST them. Hold the clip between you thumb and index fingers, small eye in left hand, large eye in right hand. The clip part should be at the top. Now simultaneously twist your right hand TOWARDS you and your LEFT hand away from you. It will snap open and catch. Then you just release like a normal snap. Seems complimented..but once you do it once, you'll be Ah-ha! Watch this video. He demonstrates. If you struggle still, I'll get the wife to record me.
  9. I fish exclusively light stuff. I'll second the Ryugi Infini. Excellent hook. I also really like the Decoy KG hook. And if you want some more action, try the Decoy Ringed KG hook. Typically, a #1 hook is for finesse/lighter techniques and, as pointed out, your gear is closer to power fishing.
  10. Correct.
  11. Try this. If you know how fragile Keitechs are, this would certainly work for your application.
  12. OSP Dolive Beaver on a Free Rig (3/16th to 1/4oz) This is incredibly fun.
  13. I have no idea whether it will work on your particular bait,...which is why I said I'm not sure if it works in every plastic. I understand the concern with the paint. But if the alternative is tossing it away, I don't see the harm in trying.
  14. Use Mend It to glue it together. Really get that brush in there. After you hold it for several seconds, it should be set. Next use you precision soldering iron and smooth over the wound...moving the adjacent plastic into the wound and covering it up. That should "seal" things up. Not sure this works with every plastic, but it sure does work well!
  15. Fresh install done. The navigation part works now! But I've lost some interesting functionality that was present before. Very perplexing. Before, after it calculated the route, it would give a "guesstimate" of how long the trip would take and how much fuel would be used based on your boat parameters. This doesn't pop up now. Also, when making a route, it used to allow me to do it from "current location". That no longer pops up. Might have to call tech support.
  16. I have a small car that won't fit 6+ foot rods easily. So I typically use 2 piece. Rigged up when I arrive at my destination.
  17. I've deleted everything.... Will do a fresh install and report back.
  18. I'm jealous! Apparently it thinks my boat is a hovercraft!
  19. Understood. But that's definitely not what they are advertising. If that's the case, it's been a long time since I've seen a company lie so blatantly about their product. On their official channel:
  20. So their claim of "Dock to Dock" navigation is BS then?
  21. It's called "Navionics" and is sold as a navigational aid, and if it can't navigate, it is useless in that regard. And yes, $90. Which is why it's hugely disappointing. I'm holding out hope there's perhaps a setting that can rectify this.
  22. Have heard several people say it's "great", "really good", "never leave home without it", etc so I bought a nice ruggedized tablet and loaded it up. I had the trial, but a long run of sour weather prevented me from using it during the trial period so I bought a subscription. And not cheap at $90! Got to use it today, to navigate, and surely I must be doing something wrong as it's easily the worst navigation I've ever used. I simply put in 2 marinas several KMs apart. And....it plotted the route as the crow flies..more or less. Over breakwalls, through houses, a public park, and island etc. In all honesty, the route was on land more than water. Surely it can't be this bad! I selected, ROUTE, Automatic, selected Start Point (Marina 1, my current position) and destination Marina 2. I then hit GO. And ended up with the above. What am I doing wrong?? Or is it really this useless?
  23. I think you should definitely consider bug-like baits. I'm definitely a convert after last year. I started off with Deps Cover Scat (great bait! ) and went on from there. Have tried the IMO Kamushi 60, OSP Dice and most recently I'm enjoying Raid Japan 2Way. All these baits get bit! I was very excited to see the Raid 1Way being on sale soon!! Here a little video of me testing the 2Way. It's no surprise these get bit!
  24. Can confirm that's a great snap. Not as strong as you might want for crankbaits.
