  1. I have seen several videos on the reel. If it is as good as they say I want one.
  2. I always use a palomar but some lures are too big for it or at least for me. Lures that are 4 or 5 inches long with treble hooks. What knot do you tie when the lure is too big for the palomar knot?
  3. I am fishing in clear water and want some walk the dog lures for clear water. From what I have seen so far translucent is the key. They show some here Five Lures To Fish In Clear Water. I have Strike King Sexy Dawg but from what I see you can't get that in translucent. I am looking at a JT-95, it has no rattles though. I am not big into walk the dog lures and have no idea who makes them. Thank you.
  4. If you go by videos on YouTube EWG has a bad hookup ratio. AI search After looking up about Senkos I started using hybrid hooks. Gamakatsu G-Finesse Hybrid Worm Hook.
  5. I use a KastKing one.
  6. How do you change the dark layout? Nvm found it.
  7. I look at my budget then my technique. Look at this site and other sites to see what is recommended for each budget and I read the reviews of the product.
  8. I have the Lew's KVD Casting reel and really love it. They have a Elite casting reel now for $179.99
  9. I think I used one of their lures once that was given to me. Not a brand I go looking for and not interested in right now.
  10. I like the Lews KVD rods. https://www.lews.com/en/shop/rods/kvder
  11. Is there any good priced hooks that are actually good? I see people talk about Eagle Claw hooks and say they are bad. Is there another brand that is priced close to Eagle Claw hooks but are good? I am looking at EWG hooks and straight round hooks 2/0, 3/0, 4/0 and 5/0.
  12. I have a Daiwa Fuego LT and have no complaints.
  13. They have Lew's KVD Elite Casting Reels coming out. https://www.lews.com/en/shop/reels/casting/kvdec. They have the KVD Elite rods too. https://www.lews.com/en/shop/rods/kvder
  14. It is a 5" Senko. Sorry to have troubled you. I really didn't think I needed to get that detailed. Sorry. I agree that it is adjustment sensitive lol I plan on throwing heavier lures soon. I just want to say thank you to everyone that has replied and sorry if I didn't provide as much detail as you needed.
  15. Do not know how to tell the number. I just turn it till it stop back lashing. Overruns at the start.
  16. Lew's KVD Series 7' Medium Heavy Fast All Purpose Reaction Casting Rod LKVDGC4 The only thing I have thrown on it so far is 1/8 ounce worm. I was going to throw heavier lures when I got the basic setup done and got use to it. I plain on throwing 1/2 and 3/8 ounce jigs and 1 ounce swim bait. The numbered dial on the palm-side of the reel. https://imgur.com/a/XxKYhkO
  17. I got 4 on and 2 off working. Not sure if it has helped with distance. With 4 on you still have to adjust spool tension like I did before. The brake control is still set high though. The braid made a difference. Easier to fix bird nests and seems like I don’t get really bad bird nests.
  18. When I first started Berkley Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon Line Clear 20LB. Now I am using Sufix 832 Braided Line Lo-Vis Green 65LB
  19. I tried the 4 brakes on 2 off and it was a disaster for me lol. Before I had to redo my spool it didn't help with distance. I am gonna keep trying though. I really need to work that dial though.
  20. I kept 3 on and 3 off. Spool tension is set just as loose as it takes my lures to fall. Not sure about dial amount
  21. I have messed around with it and I had to add a good bit of brake control. I haven't thrown nothing heavy with it though. To be honest I am kind of disappointed. I thought it was going to throw further than my KVD baitcaster from the reviews I have seen from it.
  22. Just got my new Curado 150 M with the MGL Spool III. I was wondering what is the best setup to cast the farthest. I plan on turning down the brake control all the way down and leave the brake weight the way they are 3 on and 3 off. What do you think is the best adjustment. I am not sure about the brake weights
  23. I bought some 1 1/4 round floats, the red and white ones. I was trying to figure out how much weight I should use with the floats. Is there a better way than just trying out different weights?
