Is there a recommended tool “kit” for reels?
Here's a video I found that might be of interest to you. I have some gunsmithing screwdrivers that I use for my gun interests. They are great for any precision instrument though where you want a good solid screw slot to tip interface. https://www.brownells.com/tools-cleaning/general-gunsmith-tools/screwdrivers-sets/magna-tip-58-bit-master-screwdriver-set/

Jerkbait Questions
I acquired a size 10 Xrap the other day, going to do some experimenting with it soon.

I am a fan of the Black Max reels and rods too. I agree, they are excellent casters. I was using one today on my BPS Graphite Series rod to throw a size 7 Shallow Shad Rap surprisingly far. That reel has held up to 3 years of constant use by me.

That's an interesting lure. I've never seen one. I got your image to render.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Been having some luck with jerkbaits. The one on a bladed jig was the only one that day. Today I got one on a trap at the city lake, but didn't get a picture. Then snagged a threadfin. Almost exact match for shape and size and color of the trap I used.

2 Piece Casting Rod Suggestions
I've decided to keep the BPS rod and I started fishing it. It has taken the place of the cheap rod I was using for my light stuff. I'll cast a 1/8oz jighead with a 2" powergrub, and a size 09 Rapala Original Floating Minnow which is advertised as 3/16oz. I'm still looking to get a heavier 2 piece rod for my normal needs, and I'm inclined to buy an Aird-X 6'6" sight unseen.

Fix for geary reels?
@Micro Module Police that certainly is going to be the easiest option... and the most expensive.

Cheap/budget hooks?
I use Ozark Trial worm hooks and they are pretty decent. They are way better than the bronze Eagle Claw hooks. They aren't as good as Gamakasu, but they are decent hooks. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ozark-Trail-Premium-High-Carbon-Steel-Worm-Hook-Size-3-0-5-Pack/55536409

Ryugi Hook Stocker Wallet
Thanks RRocket for cleaning that up. For my lesser used items, that'd certainly be an option.

gear that surprised you......
I agree with @king fisher, those H20X crankbaits, the squarebills, are excellent. I've had lots of luck on them and the mini squarebills. I also did well with their medium diving squarebill that had an opaque lip out of the nose. I think those have been discontinued though. Ozark Trail Worm hooks. They hold up well and are strong. Almost as good as Gamakatsu hooks. I've had a lot of luck on Ozark Trails 1/3oz crankbaits down at the river. I didn't expect that. Then they changed the model and I don't think the new ones do as well.

Scoping Out A New Pond; Chptr 2
Love finding some hidden underwater features. With the water down at the river spot I fish, you can see a spring bubbling up at one of the spots I know holds fish. I see others pulling a mess of crappie off that spot, and I've pulled a green and brown bass from it, as well as a few bycatches of crappie and googleeye.

Fix for geary reels?
I haven't done anything yet to my reels, but I am planning on doing a detail strip and clean and relube.

Soft Plastic Stowaway 3600
I haven't figured out how to best utilize this box. I love the idea, but just looking at it, it's bulky, and not as handy as just keeping flukes in a standard box. I've been using a thin 3600 box for flukes. I've noticed that flukes kinda cling to the box, which keeps them from shifting so much when in my bag. When they are in the original bag, they slide around too much and the tails get bent.

Ryugi Hook Stocker Wallet
Thank you for sharing. Could you elaborate on when you said "They come with 10 sleeves. When used double sided, you have room for 20 different items." Are you saying that the sleeves are double sided, in the sense that there is an opening and closure on each side? Or, are you saying, since they are clear, you can put 2 different items in there and see the contents? With this you'd have to leave the hooks in their packaging, or at least have a divider between them.

Winter Is Coming
There are 2 seasons for those that fish in crocs here. Summer, and sock+croc season. We rarely get hard water here. Mostly I can fish all year round. But when it's in the 30's, I'm a wuss and don't fish much. I have historically gotten skunked in winter. This year I am going to be trying some jerkbaits. I couple of X-Raps, Husky Jerks, and Zoom Super Flukes. Last winter I think it was I learned to cast a baitcaster while wearing jersey gloves. And if I could only have one lure color the rest of my life it'd be green pumkin... or, perhaps watermelon red.

Tackle System for a road trip?
I have some plans for a few minor road trips. One, I will visit NC to see the wife's folks for a few days or a week. The other, we'll visit FL to see the wife's sister. For both, I am planning on doing some fishing. It's possible I would be able to take my plastic 2 man pond hopper. But most likely I'll be bank fishing. Also it's possible I could rent a jonboat or go with a friend on a boat. Right now I'm thinking that a 3700 sized tackle box for my bulk storage, and then a backpack to fit 1-2 boxes would be a good compromise. The big box i'd have all my extra, and adjust the boxes in my backpack accordingly. When I was a kid I had a box like this, though the one I had consisted of 2 drawers and 2 removable boxes. This would make for a good home away from home base I think. https://www.planooutdoors.com/collections/tackle-boxes/products/guide-spinnerbait-stowaway-rack-system Anyone have a better idea?

New Tackle Bag
I'm thinking a couple of 3700 sized boxes is just about right, considering you want multiple of the good stuff in case you lose them.

Terminal Tackle Wallets, What's my options?
I'd love to see pictures. No need to weight it, as I have a good handful of hooks and wieghts in my bag and I know they are heavy as a brick.
