Hey guys I have the opportunity to purchase a Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 6500 C3 reel that was serviced 2 yrs ago for $40 with little use. The seller is also offering a 2 speed version of this reel for $45. I found this on craigslist and was looking up info online but couldnt find anything to differentiate the 2. You guys think its a good idea? Should i spend the $5 extra and get the 2 speed? I asked for pics so if I get those I'll post em. I need your guys advice! (I'm new to the whole baitcasting deal, cheapest i could find online was like $85) Thanks in advance everybody!

Hi guys, got cabin fever up in here NJ so i've been doing some maintenance and house cleaning. I bought a Abu Garcia Silvermax already mounted so it had no box. I've looked through the abu garcia site and could not find schematics for it, even through searching. I could find a gold max, or black max series but no silver lol. I was wondering if anyone could send me a link to the schematics or repair guide that came with the box or tell me where i could find this info? Only other option i found was some paysite but i think its ridiculous to have to pay for something like this. Thanks in advance

For what its worth, me and my buddies were nightfishing a few days ago and were absolutely killing em on Chatterbaits and big colorado bladed spinnerbaits. White, and white with chartruese was really the color they were nailing, but im guessing it had more to do with the vibration they were putting out than anything else.

Hey guys, i just bought myself a new daiwa exceler, and was wondering what type of knot do you use to tie the line to the spool. Ive been using a variety of different ones, but whats the optimal one that has very low clearance, so the line doesnt catch on the knot when im casting. Thanks in advance

We were using shiners (his idea) but I couldnt get bit on a variety of artificials so eventually i switched over as well and thats when we started catching em.

Decided to take out a bud who doesnt really fish today cuz the air temp hit 47 degrees, water couldnt have been 40 ;D we got out on the kayaks on a small pond by us with my friend hoping to catch a fish cuz according to him ("he hasnt caught a fish in sooooo long"). After a dry spell of a few hours we started getting bit, with me seeing a Nice bass cruising around. Sure enough 3-4 mins later my buddy leans into the bass I FOUND and is reeling like a madmen, i throw my pole and run to help him land it, and just as i lip it, the hook comes flying out into my shoulder. This is my buddy who was probably less excited than I was. We prob caught 4-5 more with only this other one worth taking a pic of (again after i spot it!!) Funny part was both of the bigguns were caught from shore, and both were hooked (and lost!) by me first. I was real proud of him because he doesnt catch fish often, but i told him from now on stick with me

That right there i would think makes it all worth it. I'm too young to be a father to a young fisherman yet, but when they reel in that first bass i'm sure its all worth it right there. Congrats to you and your son! You know plenty more are there where those came from!

You say it was still alive well after attack? I'm just wondering how long something could survive like that. Must've been cool to see nature at its wildest though.

If it makes ya feel any better, I lost 5 in a row the other day at my friends lake >. On the plus side, at least none were even close to 7 lbs, so in a way you guys got off a lot better than i did. Good luck next time around!
