I hooked a giant bass (for me ) on a spinning rod with a white rooster tail and lost the fish. So I switched to 20lb braid which is the size of 8 lb mono. I like it a lot.

I always T-Rig weightless unless I am really trying to get deep or to penetrate grass. I like the way wacky rig looks in the water but I really had no idea how to work it. I'll give it a try. What size hook do you guys use?

Ok, I just read the post about the little kid catching a big fish. I did a search and did not see anything recent and instructional. Please tell me how to rig and fish the wacky rig. I'll probably use a Senko. thanks

Come on Snakehead, when you put Necessarily in front of any argument, you are admitting that I am right 99% of the time. Yes, I suppose there may be some rare circumstance at some particular moment in time when what you say is true. But I say if they are feeding on Blugill and I drop a live minnow and you drop whatever you want, I am still going to catch a fish before you do. Almost every time. Your stretching. Come on snakehead. you know that I am right in nearly ever situation. Right? Come on, you can admit it. if you and I were net to each other for a million dollars, you woudl drop a night crawler in a heartbeat, right?

I think you woudl lose that bet almost every time. You buy minnows by the bucket because you do only get one per fish but that was not the question. Your last point is true, of course, but if you find fish it will be easier to catch them with live bait. I can't imagine anyone even arguing about it. I only fish artificial. I'd bet almost everyone on here only fishes artificial. But you will hear many say that they do it to make it more "sporting". In other words, it is just too easy to catch them with live bait. Isn't nearly every lures goal to imitate live bait? Pick up just about any lure other than a SB or Buzz bait and somewhere on the package they try to compare themselves to live bait. I think I understand all your points and I agree with your sentiments. But the question is which way catches more fish. I don't think there is really a doubt as the correct answer.

Black on Black, Really? I have never used anything but white or white/chartreuse. I figured the bass was looking up and most fish are white on the bottom so use white. Same with Spinnerbaits (mostly). I'll have to try black. I prefer dark for all my plastics and jigs.

MMMM Flyfisher, please go to the top of the page. "What catches more bass." Not what sets all the records. And without doing any research I bet most records are held by live bait. But that is not the question. WHat does nearly every old grandma and nearly every youngster starting fishing use for a lure? Worms, or crickets. Why? Why do you think that live bait is not allowed in tournaments?

Ok, I could go lots of ways with this but I can't imagine why the fact that you changed your mind makes you a better person. But most people think they are a better person all the time. Changing your mind or stance is just being normal.

All right, I can tell you are sincere so i will leave you alone. I used to talk to true believers but it is a waste of time. You will not turn even one. If I find someone looking for the truth, fine, I'll talk all day, but if they have made up their minds, it is a waste of time, in my opinion.

I believe that was my worst day as a Panther's fan. We all truly hoped he was trying to get more money. We started out as a Defense first time and a grind it out Offense. Loved it. But after we lost Peppers we also had injuries all through our Defense. Man, that was a terrible year.

Apologies for getting off topic. Yeah, we had our chance against the Patriots and missed 2 easy field goals. One would have won the game. Then we missed another in OT. We were so happy to get Cam, but old #1 better show some stones and hide some of the dancing and get some work done this year. People are sick of hearing about how good he is and then listening to his whining.

Ok, Granted, those are nice fish. Since this is BassResource.com, I assume we are talking largely about bass. I know alot of Yankee fisherman as that is where I cut my teeth fishing, and 3-4 lb bass are very nice fish to them. You are obviously a very good fisherman. Hard to believe that with that kind of success in NY that you could not catch some real giants in Florida. If variety is the criteria, I am sure northern lakes would rank very highly.

There is a reason live bait is not allowed in tournaments! If your not catching dinner, live bait is cheating. ANyone can catch fish like that.

Panthers are killing YOU!! Dude, you are a Yankee! The cats are killing us. Every stinking year we look good on paper. Not counting the year after Peppers left. I always think we are going to the conference title, but they always let me down. I avoid confrontation. Just leave them alone. I've tried to discuss this kind of thing and you are just wasting your breath. Minds are made up and you cannot change them. But it has never happened while I was fishing.

If you strictly talking about catching "fish" and nothing else, Alaska is the place to go. ha

All right, your just doing that on purpose. The only reason not to prefer Florida is if you have something against catching 10 pound Largemouth bass. If you actually prefer catching smaller fish I guess that could happen. Upstate NY is great fishing but a really nice fish is 3-4 pounds. I don't think too many people will "choose" NY over Florida if all you are talking about is bass fishing. But to each his own. I left all that snow and swore I'd never go back and I have not regretted that decision. Obviously, that was based on snow, not fishing.

uh, yeah that leaves alot of states you probably haven't fished. Both of those are good states, but Florida is the place to be.
