  1. I'm 54 and I have yet to need TP on a boat.
  2. Spare prop? why would you need a spare prop? Maybe if you are travelling 20 miles. you need a couple of screwdrivers and some pliers. or a real tool kit. get some cheap jumper cables in case your starting battery dies so you can jump it with your TM batts.
  3. your going to get a lot of people saying to replace them once a year or so. I replace my impeller when no water comes out of the pee hole. But my boat is only a 1985 so maybe after a few more years the neglect will ruin it just kidding, its a joke.
  4. Wowzers! I have a 1985 boat and trailer. Last year I finally took the carpet off the bunks and put on plastic covers. I have never replaced the bunks. What are you experiencing that makes you replace the bunks? Are you talking about taking the boards off and putting on new ones?
  5. I'm with you brother. ANother thing is that a lot of things are called jigs. I've caught lots of fish on small plastics like a "spider jig" but I have no luck with the chunky, plastic skirted jigs with the heavy jig heads. I've tried all kinds of trailers. I really want it to work because they are fun to fish. But I don't have much luck. I do plan to just stick with it for a while and make it work. One problem I have is that I love Senkos and spinnerbaits so if something does not work fairly quickly, I put it down and go to the old reliables! ha
  6. Interesting topic. I had not used a SC reel in 20 years and when my daughter in law moved here I bought a fairly expensive one for her to use. I was very disappointed. I thought by now that they would be better. We used them when I was a kid for bobber fishing but for lures, they are very limited. slow retrieve and they twist the line. For some reason, I guess the oscillating reel, spinning reels work much better even though they also twist the line. I'll be on the lookout for some of these better reels as my grand-daughter is almost old enough to start fishing with paw-paw.
  7. That was a disorganized post be me. I wasted a lot of time with a voltmeter tracing around the foot pedal. Just take the top off and check power in continuous mode or with the button pushed on the foot pedal. if you have power, then it is probably the circuit board.
  8. I had to actually take the top off the TM and found that there was voltage all the way into the TM. That means the problem is down in the bottom of your TM where the actual motor is. If you have power at the top where the arrow indicator is, then there is a good chance that the circuit board in the bottom is blown. 50 bucks max with labor included.
  9. Thanks. That is a lot but not terrible. I ordered the one from BPS but it is on backorder.
  10. Where in the world did you find good rods for 8 bucks?? I want one.
  11. Holy moley! I might be able to find fish if I could see that! I have to find one of these in a pawn shop or something. wow
  12. Has anyone tried this from BPS? http://www.basspro.com/Trolling-Motor-Rope-Replacement-Cable/product/381264472/
  13. That is kind of expensive, right? I saw a couple pre-packaged steel cables but they were high.
  14. Upstate NY, New Hampshire, Connecticut... sorry, I'm a butt
  15. Snapped my pull rope this week. I was shocked to see all the options available when I started looking around. Any suggestions? I don't mind a steel cable but I'm not going to pay 40 bucks. thanks

What colors do you guys wear for fishing? Is that all that makes a pair "fishing" glasses? I only wear polarized. Been getting Oakley's for years but a buddy has convinced me to switch. He said go with amber.
  17. Jeff, is SCROUNGA a secret code that you have to join a club and go through Hazing to be in on?
  18. I also get frustrated with CBs. I cannot get them to swim straight. I have several tuning tools but no matter how I tune it, it never goes straight. I like Rat-l-traps ok, but CBs and I do not get along. And I really want to use them. They look so dang cool. And with all those hooks, seems like they have to easier to hook up than a worm.
  19. I don't think the industry is going to change. I use a mix of both. I tie on the SB and Buzz baits. One thing I do is try to check before leaving the house and have those baits tied on. Saves the frustration of trying to do it in a hurry while I am fishing. I like Poppers but I really like Jitterbugs and they have big eyes to tie onto. Maybe switch to them in place of poppers. I don't think a popper would work with a split ring and a snap right in front of the spoon that makes the pop.
  20. I was all excited when they built on in Winston-Salem, NC. But when it was done, I was disappointed. It is a hunting store with some fishing equipment. Still, its a better place to hang out than Barnes and Noble! ha
  21. three AUGHT Aught is the old school word for zero.
  22. I am very interested in this topic. I saw a lot of videos in very high wind and wave and the anchors stuck. I am going to order some parts and make some up for me and if they work, try to sell them. let us know what you find out.
  23. Thanks team Wacky! Sounds like what I do t-rigged except with a smaller hook. I'll give it a try at my earliest convenience.
