  1. Pbizzle, somethin' ain't right. 1) 50 cents/ per fish is a bargain anywhere. How many fish do you catch? 10 at a time? that is 5 bucks. 2) I usually catch several on one Senko. 3) In my part of the world, Senkos are for bigger fish, not dinks. Granted, bass will hit a worm or bait double their own size, but I think the Senko bite tends to be better quality than alot of other baits. But if you can't tell the difference in the bite, I'd use the cheaper ones also. But that is not what I see when I go fishing. I have been a worm fisherman for a long time and loved Mann Jelly worms and Culprits, but once Senkos came out, that was the end of all that stuff.
  2. I remember my first trip also. I was in my 30s. Me and my buddies would sit around at work in NC and make big orders to save on shipping. We always said we were going to take a road trip to MO. or wherever the main place is that we were ordering from. ANd then it seemed like they started building them all over the place.
  3. Ha! If you ever need a babysitter, let me know.
  4. I hope you still took it back. I have little doubt that they would still take it back. Maybe not a month later but the same day?
  5. If that was the standard, nobody would say catfish.
  6. Did you say that right? I never hear southerners say croppie. I live here. I did not even know it was optional till I was about 40! I don't watch Lindner because he is always going after walleye and other fish that we don't have but I would have guessed he was a croppie guy.

In my humble opinion, 90% of fish lures and innovations are designed to catch fishermen, not fish. I don't care what color it is as long as it is not going to reflect light. So, I haven't used a gold hook in many years. I have red ones and black and grey. I can't tell any difference.
  8. You are from Maryland so as always you are caught in the middle. Southerners consider you a yankee so I am sure that CROPPIE is the way to go. If you were down here in NC and called it a croppie we would all know immediately that you were a yankee. Since we are not as sophisticated we tend to say things they way they are spelled. And yes, on occasion we do enjoy doing things just to tweak the noses of other people. Try perch!
  9. I do think that fishing plastics requires a little more effort and technique than most fishing. In my opinion, you really have to focus on slowing down. try keeping a finger on the line just above your reel. You may be getting bites and just not realizing it. Unlike Cranks and SBs you have to set the hook on them. I have never caught a fish on a jerkbait. Everyone says they are great but i don't get it. No help please, I'm just saying there is something about them that i don't get. Luckily, there are a multitude of ways to catch a bass.
  10. I'm actually glad to hear someone not poor-mouthing about fishing. Drives me crazy to hear all these people trying save a buck on line or melting worms to reuse them. Good grief. I know everyone has needs but it reminds me of people driving across town to save a penny on gas when 10 gallons amounts to a savings of 10 cents. I may try one if I find one.
  11. Say what? Never heard of such a thing. Had to look it up. 30 bucks! Man, it better catch fish. Do you use 100 lb test to make sure you don't lose it
  12. First, move south! ha, just kidding.
  13. Man, I guess I have to try this wacky rig thing. It just looks goofy to me and i have never tried it. But I guess it really works. 30 lb Braid! I like your optimism
  14. My only bait I can always count on is a Senko fished weightless and I use mono or braid. it does not matter. I would buy Senkos. I don't know how much these other people fish but truthfully, if you can't afford 6 bucks for a bag full of worms and twice that many fish, well, I'll just stop there. I mean, I have a boat! Senkos are cheap. Boats are costly. I fish fairly regularly and a bag or two of Senkos last plenty long. I don't have a favorite color. Dark and Light. F I S H T H E M S L O W !!
  15. One thing is that you are going to keep alot more lures! Now if you get hung up you can get to the problem and putt it off the back of that stick or laydown or rock.
  16. So dump the leader. I have no trouble using braid on the lure.
  17. Yeah, I've read the articles also. Its still a mystery. It does not resemble anything in their world. It amazes me whenever it works. ANd I still think it is funny when I see people going to great lengths to make a lure "just right". There is nothing in a Bass' diet that rattles but they hit Rat-l-traps. I'm convinced that fishing has much more to do with 1) finding them 2) finding them when they are interested or active. Lures make much less difference than most people think. Same goes for presentation. Just my opinion.
  18. Brother, I am surprised every time I catch a Bass on anything! ha Honestly, buzzbaits amaze me. When I hear fisherman jumping through hoops to trip the skirt on a bait or alter the color or make something perform differently, my response is always the same. A bass will hit a stinking BUZZ BAIT!! C'mon man! There is nothing life like in any way about a buzzbait. It does not imitate anything that fish sees in the natural world. So, when I hear you have to have this kind of line or the fish are too smart to hit it, I have to laugh.
  19. My personal opinion is that the really big fish are weird. They have strange patterns and that is why they make it so long without getting caught. They are probably skittish. However, they have to eat every day to get that big so they are not too shy.
  20. I only wear polarized. But I have to say that Oakley's are ridiculously high. I paid over 100 bucks to replace my wife's lenses and I have to do the same for mine. Mine are so old that they don't stock the lenses in the store. Are these glasses you say are as good as Oakley's cheaper? I can get a good pair of Oakley's for about 175. (which is fine by me. My sunglasses are well taken care of and last a min. of 8 years)
  21. Awesome! Thanks. I'll start using the "Follow this Thread" right away.
  22. Thanks Road Warrior. I knew it was you but I could not remember your name. I just remembered you were holding 2 fish.
  23. I'm pretty good ar forums but I can't figure a few things out. 1) I was looking at a pretty old thread about guarateed ways to catch bass. It had many pages and was started back in 2010 or 11. Now I can't find it. I have searched but no luck. It was about fishing Senkos 10-15 feet from shore very slowly. 2) I see people talk about making stickies or things to that effect. I see helpful threads from time to time and want to save them but I don't see how. thanks for your help Yes, I did read the help and FAQ and it did not help me.
  24. J, yuou realize that guy is a foreigner, right? I don't listen to foreigners! Just kidding, of course.
