I've caught random huge crappie where bass are hanging out (and while catching said bass), so who knows really.

I tend to "just know" exactly where, when, and how a bait with shine. Sometimes I'm right, a lot of the time I'm wrong, but I always "just know." Fish with confidence. *will shine It won't let me edit to correct the autocorrect.

I wasn't sure where to place this thread. Has anyone played this game? I'm a gamer, and a diehard bass angler (hence why I'm on these forums). Every fishing game I've ever played has been bad. I'm wondering if this one is any good? It looks very nice, but for $45 I'm trying to find actual people who have played the game rather than online reviews which are often made by bots. This could be an easier winter to get through. Thanks.

I have never and will never fish in a storm or take the chance if a storm is scheduled in the area. It's not worth it. I was once on the lake in a pontoon with my wife and kids and some friends and a sudden, unexpected storm rolled in. I beached the pontoon and made everyone get off and get under some trees (everything was woodland). I'm not sure if that was the best decision, but I know being in a metal boat on water in the open with lightning had to be worse.

Absolutely not. Outside of something super specialized like big swimbaits, there's really nothing I can't do effectively with a M/F spinning, MH/F casting, and H/F casting. Outside of that it's nothing more than enthusiasts having the money to blow on a hobby, which isn't a bad thing, but it isn't necessary either. When reading the articles and watching the videos it's very important to remember that you're taking in information from well off and well sponsored pros and the top 1% amateurs and enthusiasts who have the time, money, and space for such things, because for them a negligible difference matters where the every-man wouldn't even notice.

5-10 acre ponds without a lot of pressure for LMB. They're big enough for big bass, and small enough to fish thoroughly and without too much thought each trip. No time or money spent trying to find them. They're there if you know how to catch them. Next would be wading streams for SMB. The bites are plentiful. Fishing a lake can be interesting and beautiful sometimes, but I don't enjoy spending more time hunting them than I do fishing for them, or all the preparation that goes into launching for them. I want to show up, fish, and catch.

The Dobyns Fury 664c fishes very heavy. A 4 power (H) Dobyns rod would normally fish like a MH, but this rod is an exception. It fishes like a 5 power, a true heavy rod. This is due to its length of 6'6". And for what you're asking, that sounds perfect for you. The only problem would be that some people say they're not sensitive enough. I don't share that opinion. ymmv
