Tennis elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis) treatment is rest, PT, pain relievers, steroids. Surgery isn’t a common treatment. Take the month off and rest. I was a gymnast from age 12 to 22 and managed to do a lot of tendon and skeletal damage, not to mention racing and competitive water skiing. If you want to heal reducing inflammation is critical. Being a youngster it was no pain no gain…wrong wrong wrong! Oddly my elbows are in good condition at age 82! Proper bait casting technique helps! If your pain is high get a steroid shot to relieve the inflammation and reduce down time. Tom

Night time is the right time. 600 moof Avail reduces the inflammation. Shouldn’t get tennis elbow fishing unless your casting technique is incorrect. I watch today’s pro’s casting the cast with the reel spool parallel to the water thumb upright….incorrect! This motion strains the elbow ligaments. Correct motion is your thumb pointed at your ear the reel handle sideways, using the wrist more, no stress on the elbow. Tom

The bass may be out roaming hunting at night and don’t return to weed beds until after the sun is over head. Hot air doesn’t always mean hot water, it takes several hot days to heat water a few feet deep without wind. Check the water temps! Tom

Air temps affect us not the bass for them it’s all about water temps. If the weed mats are not green and water temps over 85 low DO could be the problem. I would look for areas with moving / nervous water or with waves. With a hollow body frog try 3 hops and pause vary the number of hops with pauses, straight steady retrieves rarely work. Tom

If you lakes have Pike and Musky they are the top predators and take over the prime areas. LMB if that scenario tends to to locate inside weed line areas, tight o cover. Tom

Typical holding areas for LMB should have some form of cover along with the structure elements. Aquatic plants can’t grow in sand or clay (very fine sand) and on rocks, they need soil to root in. Can’t “see” aquatic growth using sonar maps, overhead satellite imaging you see it and on the water sonar use. What structure elements I look for; Long under water main lake points, easy to find. Saddles connecting connecting humps ( underwater islands). The best saddles are perpendicular to the wind or current. These are funnel zones. Steep bank or river channels that drop off to a small flat area then continue dropping. The flat can be table size as long as it is at the right depth*. *Right depth is the life zone where baitfish are located above the thermocline depth. Master those few structure elements then learn isolated structure on structure like boulders and will find the bass you are looking for. Tom

Welcome, we have a forum for this type of question. Spool end play side to side shouldn’t be more then 1/16” or the thickness of a penny, 1/4 is way to much for any bait casting reel. Your reel has a knob to adjust spool tension*. The basic method is with the lure you plan to use adjust the knob until the lure start to fall on it’s own weight. The fine adjustment is the reel spool should stop turning when the lure hits the ground. About a 1/8 knob turn looser the spool is in free spin and could backlash without proper break adjusts it light touch using your thumb. Tom * you may have lost the knob!

When Barlows came out with their silicone skirt tabs the world of possibilities opened up like a giant vacuum sucking my money up. Must have made every combination I thought of that might work. I made my own jig heads so it was easy to have dozens of combinations, it was nearly endless! A few actually worked good, especially the mixing natural and fine cut tabs. I believe it was 018 black copper flake brown fine cut tab worked great until they stopped offering it…I took stock and got off the band wagon selling nearly everything to do with silicone tabs, hundreds of jigs!
