IMO Xfast tip is softer then fast being more rigid. X fast will cast weights within the rods rating easier. Sensitively is feeling line movement and a soft more flexible tip absorbs line movement reducing feeling line movement feedback but increases visible tip movements. The parabolic a rod is the easier lit is to cast lures but softer the rod is you loose line movement feedback and increase tip movements visually like diving crank baits. Tom

The 1st lures I sold after selling my boat was big swimbaits. You can’t back seat using 8’ rods and chucking heavy lures 60-75 yards! Tom

This is very difficult for me coming to grips with winding down bass fishing. This started with selling my boat and most of my tackle. I realize age has caught up with me but my desire to fish hasn’t. I will try to fish the 2025 pre spawn and after that look for what is letting my tackle to go up on the Flea market. I will take photos of my tackle for anyone interested not sure whatto do with the fish mounts? Will cross that bridge later. Tom

I would vote for a decade later 85’-95’ casting reels came out with free running spool and instant anti reverse, bass boats eliminated glass over wood transoms and stringers, AGM batteries and digital TM’s, longer Graphite casting rods plus spinning rods for bass fishing and Super braids , FC line. For me it was the height of giant bass fishing and big swimbaits entered bass fishing. Tom PS, facing the reality that 2025 maybe my last bass fishing year due to arthritis in my hands🤬

The SC LXtreme casting rods are high end 7’” MHXF rated 1/4-3/4oz, 7’4” rated 3/8-1 1/2 oz are very different rods. From the specs the 7’1” MHXF would be good for worms and jigs under 1/2 oz, more accurate casting, 7’4” HF fit jigs 1/2 oz to 1 oz heavy cover. Tom

I can’t think of a local tournament trail that lasted always some shenanigans going on. Letting anglers fish for money and trusting them to be honest ends up poorly. Dishonest people can be very clever. I liked to fish night charity derbies because cheating was rare stealing from a charity kept most everyone honest. Tom

I remember going over to Iovino’s house to deliver a tool he wanted made and Don was exited to show me a new Yamamoto soft plastic he was using to catch bass. Don and Gary were close friend's and Don got all the new products to test. He had 6” watermelon red Senko rigged Texas no weight walked over to his swimming pool made a cast watch closely as it sinks and notice the slight tail wiggle. Don said do you see it and replied see what? He made another cast and I did see a slight shimmy. Don’t give it any action just cast and watch line as it sinks. Don gave me a bag and it was lights out the bass haven’t seen a Senko and it never made it to the bottom! Tom PS, Don showed his new trick using a Peg-It through the hook eye cut off about 1/8” both side of the eye. You pull the rubber into the nose of the Senko to keep from sliding down the hook or tearing out fighting bass.

Gary made a video where stated he was making a Sluggo type soft jerk bait that would sink without adding weight and named it Senko. Tom

I bought the SC Victory 6’10” MLXF based on stats and BR member hype. Big mistake the rod was a noddle with not enough tip to keep a drop shot bass pinned. Traded the MLXF in for MXF and satisfied but not welling to recommend it, cost me $35 in lieu of original cost. Good customer service and really like the handle design….blank is satisfactory. Tom

This thread question was about MM spinning rods. Most “Walleye” rods are moderate action compared to “Bass” rods. The Loomis PR844S salt water Popping rod is an excellent small to medium size crank bait rod. You can find these used in new condition at bargain price because anglers think it’s a fast action but it parabolic action with strong lower end power. Tom

T-rigged with a weight the Senko type stick bait becomes a fat worm. Neko rig started a wacky rigged Senko with a nose weight. Tom

There is a big change in LMB behavior when it becomes an adult size 4 lbs+. Now the bass can eat and live wherever and what its desire's. This adult bass 4 lbs+ is more them likely a female and tends to hang out other adult size bass. Juvenile size bass become a prey source and avoid adults occupying a different location for survival. If you want to catch adult size bass fish for them where they are located with lures that replicate the prey they are targeting. No panacea just a lot of time on the water armed with the knowledge what to look for and where. Tom

Sitting in a kayak is very different from standing and that could impact your rod choice. I use Iovino Splash-It rod 6’8” MF rated for 1/4-1/2 oz for jerk baits, top water and medium diving crank bait within the rods lure rating. Also works good for 6” T-rigged worms. I believe any 6’8”-6’10” MF rod you like will work good. Tom
