If you could thank one person..
I guess i have the INTERNET to be thankful.I wouldn't have 1/4 the knowledge i do now because of websites like this one. None of my family got me into fishing....I just went to summer camp one day when i was just a very young boy...while everybody went swimming all i wanted to do was go fishing for some odd reason. My mom says i have my grandfather's blood running thick in me...he was the only hardcore fisherman in the family.Sadly i never got the chance to meet him. My passion was bluegill fishing which i still do once in a while.

Shimano Compre Versus Okuma Concept C3.
I can only speak for the C3 which i have.A lot of people have said this rod is a little heavy(I don't notice it much).I guess if you are used to super light rods this rod isn't for you.If you don't like split grip, this rod isn't for you.If you don't like rubber type handles this rod isn't for you(if you rather use cork or soft foam type grips). But if none of that bothers you.... Then it is an awesome rod and sensitive enough to feel some very light bites. For the price they are asking,it's a pretty good deal if you ask me.I haven't had one problem with mine.I was going to sell it awhile back, but i changed my mind and ended up keeping the rod instead. Shimano has a warranty on their rods that is pretty hard to beat. But I've changed over to split grip type rods based on personal preference on my part.I just like split grips better and they feel more comfortable to me.

Re: Fishing Line For Everything
I gotta agree with this one.

Help Me Out Here
I did it once.....let's just say it was a bad experience and i never did it again. Don't let an understaffed unexperienced blood staff member take your blood. I remember when i was in High school and they came trying to get Blood from the kids.A few of us did it just to get out of class that day.... ;D I wqould have been better off staying in class to be honest. :-/

Fat Ika help
Rig em' backwards(skirt forward) and fish them weightless. They don't wiggle like a senko.but they do one thing most lures don't do...when casted to a certain area they fall away from you. If you cast to a under hanging tree branch that fat ika will glide under that tree. Most of my came as the bait was falling. If i don't get a bite on the first fall,I just raise my rod,let it fall on slack line and reel in any extra slack.

How early is good for MICHIGAN
Do i go out before the season starts? Yup! I just don't target bass while I'm out though. White & Black crappies can be found as well as walleyes. But those pesty Hungry bass will eat anything also.... :

Should I respool or not?
I agree. As long as there is no nicks or line damage, it should be fine. Remember that many times line sits in warehouses and the shelf for some months or years before you even buy it (sometimes), so a few more months on a reel should not be a problem. I second what these two said.I've put on brand new line and used it twice, cold weather ended my season(late NOV-early DEC). Only to bring the reel spooled with the same line and use it again in April when the season opened again.Absolutely no problems with it.

Triple Grip trebles
I use them on my inline spinners.....I give quite a few away to my buddies and none of them has complained about the hooks on them.Matter of fact quite a few are surprise when i tell them it's Mustad triple grip hooks I use.

Superstions?
I skunk out almost every time i bring my camera.....That's one of the main reason i never really remember to bring it.Of course this is superstition and i know it....it still hard to convince myself to remember that camera though. I also do well when wearing a tackle warehouse shirt or hat...I make a point in making sure i have one on before a fishing trip.

Split Grip Casting rod
The way i grip my rods, split grips just feel much, much more comfortable.Gimmick or not, there are people out there that really prefer the split grips over the full covered grip rods for this reason. I don't know where the tip heavy is coming from...none of mine seem tip heavy at all. :-?

No more BMF hooks as we know them
So they are basically a cheaper weaker made hook, but costing $2 more? I was going to pick some up....what you said now is making me change my mind.

Lone wolf
Lone wolf. My mom says i take after my grandfather. He died at a very early age.He was a fisherman for Sturgeons in the Great Lakes.I think i would have gotten along real well with my grandfather. It's always interested me when my mom told me stories of those 6 foot monsters he was catching.
