  1. How about Tuna Fish Sammiches (that way all that falls over the side of the boat becomes chum) Seriously, homemade beef jerky, cliff bars, water, beer/alcohol does NOT make it on my boat
  2. A wise man once told me "if you have to ask, you can't afford it." My advice would be to pay cash for the boat, typically, boat loans are not the greatest ideas. The boats depreciate much faster than cars/trucks. As far as insurance, mine is around $150 a year with tournament coverage. A storage space for a 20 ft boat is going to be costly, around $100-$200 monthly for that size. if you can't afford to pay cash and don't have a place to store it you may want to reconsider...... just sayin
  3. WOW!! Forgot how much I missed a custard filled heart stopper.
  4. Option 3 Get rid of wife, buy new bass rig, move to Mexico and live like a rockstar while fishing ElSalto until ticker gives out. Leave remaining money to dog....... Old joke: Put dog and wife in trunk of car and leave for an hour. Then, open the trunk and see which one is still happy to see you.
  5. Could not agree with you more. Congrats to Ferris State! It still amazes me that hockey is not more popular. I get it that most of the country never sees ice, so hockey is not really an option for most to enjoy. However, it is one of the last professional sports that hasn't been tainted by money, egos, and bad officiating. I can't even watch the NBA for most of those reasons. Go Red Wings!!!! Bring home Lord Stanley
  6. I just read an article in a magazine, outdoor life, field n stream? that was written about these carp. It went on to say that they performed blind taste tests on hundreds of people using Tilapia, Carp and either cod or haddock. 2/3 of the test subjects chose carp over tilapia. All fish were prepared the same way. I also read an article that talked about the ability to farm these Asian carp and utilize the meat to can and send off to homeless shelters etc. These fish are a bounty that is untapped and can be used rather than government idiocracy twitlling their thumbs until they hit the great lakes. Someone had to eat the first lobster too.......
  7. If you get a chance, head up to Flushing Hicks Outdoors. Ask for Ryan Thibaut. He will give you all the info you need.
  8. Try contacting the NBAA. Most of the santioned tourneys for division 60 are based out of that area and fish Lobdell, Ponemah, Oakland, Fenton, Mott etc. Tournament director is Rich (?) sorry can't remember his last name. Lobdell has a non sanctioned Wednsday night tournament that launches from Whites every week from 5-6pm till dark. Also look up Bassaholics. Friend of mine runs this club. Josh Wright. Hope this helps
  9. Hard work beats Talent when Talent doesn't work Hard.......
  10. Years ago I used to hide small notes to the bank tellers inside bank deposits from my restaurant. I wanted to make sure my managers were verifying the deposits in the morning before taking them to the bank. Between bands of $5 I would place a small note with things like " Hello bank lady, my name is ________ I am wearing aquaman underwear" or "Hello bank lady, you can't tell but I'm not wearing pants right now" My guys always went through the drive through so it was even better. The bank tellers started keeping the notes and putting them on a board. They told me that they couldnt wait for our deposits in the morning.
  11. Sam I respect your opinion. My original post was not intended to be political as I said. I just tnought it was an inspirational patriotic message. I am curious to your thoughts
  12. I know and was crushed to hear about the XR. I have been to the Blantons distillery and it is a good tour. Mid September is the annual Bourbon Festival in Bardstown KY. A very good time
  13. This is a topic up my alley. Maybe my favorite thing other than fishing is a fine bourbon Bourbon: Blantons Canadian: Crown Royal Extra Rare (way too expensive though) My daily bourbon is either Buffalo Trace or Henry McKenna Not much of a whiskey drinker though, I will have to try the Pappy's.
  14. You guys have gotten off point a bit. The original reason for my post was that I was proud that a cultural icon like Eastwood was in essence telling Americans to stop whining, get off our Arses, and fix the problem, together.... The ad wasn't exactly "Just" a car commercial. It was a statement to the American people in my opinion. I think Chrysler was spot on in their casting of an American legend to make people relate and actually listen. Plus, its JOSE FRICKEN WALES!!!
  15. Any by Reagan I mean movie star turned President. No political intention meant
  16. Actually, most of Chrysler isn't even built in Detroit anymore. Only two models are still built there. Everything else is either out of state or out of country. However, gotta love Clint getting the nation fired up. The patriotism part really got me going and who is more American that the Outlaw Jose Wales????? If he wasn't already like 120 he could be the next Reagan. HOOO RAA Gunny Hightower
  17. That is the same model I have. built to last..... I purchased the props for about $25 a piece online but I dont remember the website. I probably should have purchased two for that price.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEM9dodyABo Eastwood for President!!!! :respect-059:
  19. I will have to agree about the trolling motors. I have one on my 96 Stratos. I am the third owner and I told my wife I wont spend money on a new trolling motor until the OMC factory one dies. Well, 16 years old and it is still running like a champ. I have replaced the prop once. Darn thing is like a tank. I just cant justify dropping $700-1400 when it is still working fine.
  20. I believe that is what is commonly referred to as a "butter face" cute picture
  21. Good question and I don't have the answer. I am sure it has something listed at the website or by contacting the dealer
  22. My 97 was purchased about a year ago. I bought it as a beater to drive back and forth to work (35mpg). I do not have a key fob either. However, my alarm works by putting the key in the door and turning it clockwise and hold until the car doors lock and the alarm beeps once. Then your doors are locked. In order to unlock from the outside you place the key in the door (front doors only) and turn the key counter clockwise and hold until the locks unlock. You can also lock/unlock from the button on the dash next to the rear defrost. It should be the far right button on the middle dash under the radio. If you lock the car and try to turn the car on the alarm will sound. Also, if you have the car locked and try to open the trunk it will sound the alarm. Hope this helps.
  23. This boat was fitted with a 30lb thrust trolling motor. The guy at the show said his actually had a 44lb thrust motor and said it would darn near rooster tail across the lake. lol There were some other features that were noteworthy. It came in either white, or olive green. Due to the lightweight construction it was less than 100lbs and could easily be taken down by one person.
  24. I also have a 97 jetta. Are you saying that the alarm goes off without setting it? It sounds as if you set the alarm from the passenger side and then opened the door from the drivers side, thus, never disengaging the alarm. More details will help us diagnose your issue I think. if you have a scan tool you may be able to diagnose it quicker by running a system check.
  25. The price at the show was $999. Which, is not an outrageous price for a fiberglass boat. the difference between this and the Pond Prowler/Bass Raider is that eventually, they leak. Sorry guys. i have had one and you eventually end up with water in one side or the other. The other cool feature is that it breaks down. It was very stable and well made. i especially liked the wheel for transportation.
