  1. I can’t speak for the whole Bass Resource family here but I would think that if a company actually made a “backlash free” reel, everyone would want that immediately. Logically speaking, it doesn’t make any sense to me to buy a reel that has a “chance” to backlash vs one that does not backlash. I would buy the no backlash reel 100/100 times. I’m getting older now so I want to continue working smarter not harder. Not saying that you are not a hard worker, just eliminating the stupid mistakes. I still occasionally have backlashes but it is operator error and not as many backlashes as when I was learning initially. I bought the Daiwa Tatula CT 7:3.1 to help me learn with minimal backlashes. I’m happy with it so far. And I have straight mono just in case the backlashes got out of control. I needed to keep the cost of fishing line low while I learned the process. 😊
  2. For me, you are right on the money @Swamp Girl !! I don’t have a canoe or a kayak or a bass boat. Only 2 feet and 2 legs. 😂. Bank fishing at its best. I mentioned this last year I believe but, I absolutely love fishing an underspin with a keitech paddle tail. Never tried it before but when I did, it’s now one of my favorite lures. Underspin with a single, silver willow leaf blade. If I can make it on the water around 530 am though and the water is like glass and no one is out there, my first lure of the day is a black hollow body frog, every time. Love throwing that frog first thing.
  3. Welcome to the Bass Resource Family!! Happy to have ya!!
  4. Wow 🤩!! Congratulations on the new purchase!! I’m super excited for you. Would love to see that sitting in the driveway. Colors look amazing! I’ve always seen your signature line on your profile and comments and been waiting to see the pics. 2026 Basscat Cougar 203 Hybrid (arriving spring '26) Suzuki Stealth 250 Garmin graphs, Livescope and PPs
  5. That’s awesome!!! No prize money but a very prideful moment!!! Something you will never forget. I’m happy for you Joe!!! If it was me, that will be going into a frame for all friends and family to see. Now you can joke with all your peeps and let them know, you are currently taking reservations for guided trips and angler seminars on your boat. 🤪 Congratulations again!!
  6. This is exactly what I was thinking after reading through the thread. I have 2 higher end St Croix’s that both come with a 15 year warranty. That alone should be enough to have faith in the product. At least it is for me. 7’1 LBT MHF - casting 7’1 Victory MHF - spinning I needed ALL IN ONE technique rods and these are both in that category of using multiple techniques. Within the last 5 years or so I had a St Croix MOJO BASS casting rod. Because of the price point, it only had a 5 year warranty. I was fishing on a large wooden dock with some other people. Somehow, that rod ended up on the floor of the dock and one of my guides got stepped on and damaged. I used the warranty option, got a really good trade in value for that rod and used that to upgrade to the Legend Bass Tournament rod. Super easy process and they mailed out my new rod. I was super excited for the rod but also, just the ease of the warranty process itself. 15 year warranties, come on, that should be a no brainer. I’m staying with St Croix’s. Plus the factory is only 4 hours North of where I live. Going to make it up there one day. All my rods could break, I don’t care. Knowing I have a solid warranty in the back of my mind, makes me feel great. 👍
  7. WOW 🤩!! That looks pretty awesome for bank anglers. I think I will get one sometime this year. Thank you for the suggestion. Spot on for working SMARTER not HARDER. 👍
  8. Definitely like the GMC’s. When it comes to purchasing vehicles I like the look, first and foremost. If you told me you had a great deal on a vehicle and it had 1,000 miles per gallon but looked terrible, I’m passing. I don’t care. I have plenty of patience for the right one. My hard earned money will be going towards something I will enjoy and be proud of. This must of been a super exciting experience for you AJ. I’ve never special ordered a vehicle before. Congratulations again!!!
  9. I’ll even throw in another $100 for the truck. So $300 for the complete boat and truck combo. 😂😂
  10. Through a warranty claim last year, I upgraded to a St Croix Legend Bass Tournament 7’1 MHF casting rod. I paired it with my Daiwa Tatula CT 7.3:1. That is considered an all in one rod. Probably my favorite in my minimal collection. 😂 Because I’m a bank angler, I need the all in one type rods so I can enjoy multiple techniques. I wanted at least 1 casting and 1 spinning at the minimum. I’m not lugging more than 3 rods around on my adventures. I also have the St Croix Victory 7’1 MHF spinning rod. I have that paired with a Pflueger Patriarch 5.2:1. That is my favorite line of spinning reels, Pfluegers. I love this rod setup as well. Definitely get some nice compliments from my fishing buddy on those. He uses Ugly Stik with Pflueger spinning setups. Just my opinion for my price point on entertainment value.
  11. Sorry to hear about this but definitely understand it’s part of the process of raising, loving and enjoying the time with them for as long as it is. We have a Morkie and she turned 8 this past February. I know that time will come for us someday and when it does, it will be next to impossible for us. We have no kids and have been married now going into year 18. So she is like our kid. Our little weekly/bi-weekly trips to Petsmart for an occasional stroll around the store or just picking up her treats or getting her nails trimmed, are priceless. She loves car rides, she poops in store and I clean it every time and when she is ready to leave she heads for the doors. 😂 It’s hilarious. The VET and I had a conversation about this situation for when that time does come. He says that a lot of people/owners leave the room when they do the procedure because it’s too sad for them. But he said the animals are really sad when the owners leave them. He said we should always be there with them at time of passing no matter how hard it is because they will feel more comfortable with their owners in there. It left an impact on me so I will not let her go through any procedure without me at the very least staying in there with her. I have too much love for our little girl. She is family to us, not just some animal. Just my 2 cents, hope this helps.
  12. That Daiwa Tatula CT looks like an amazing deal for $99. I bought that same one a couple years back for $150, except I have the 7:3.1 and it was and is my first bait-caster ever. Taught myself how to use one over online videos over the winter time and bought it the next spring. I definitely had some backlashes due to my learning curve but I love that reel. I have it paired with my St Croix Rod, Legend Bass Tournament LBTC71MHF 7'1" MEDIUM HEAVY FAST I love that setup. I was considering buying the Daiwa Tatula Elite and swapping out the CT. Now I may buy another CT and ADD another St Croix rod. Maybe a BASSX or a BASS MOJO or splurge for another VICTORY rod. I love my VICTORY MH FAST spinning rod VTS71MHF 7'1" MEDIUM HEAVY FAST Tough decision here. 🤪
  13. Being a part of this Bass Resource Family is priceless!!!! Talking about anything and everything fishing is absolutely amazing but having those other moments, when we all have something else we need to speak about, everyone here is just understanding and compassionate. Proud to be a part of this amazing family!!
  14. Thoughts and prayers are with you @NorthernBasser !! I can definitely relate with you in regards to having a port installed into my chest and then on treatment days, running liquid CHEMO for almost 4 hours straight, 1 day a week. After the 4 hours though, I had to take a CHEMO fanny bag home with me to run for an additional 46-48 hours every other week. Definitely rough. My CHEMO cocktail(4 CHEMO’s together)was the most powerful for my situation. My wife had to take me and bring me home from treatment. No way I could’ve driven. I was in a zone after I left the cancer center. Now I’m in radiation treatment with CHEMO pills(2x a day, 1500 mg each time). During my 8 treatments of the liquid CHEMO, I couldn’t grab anything cold without a feeling of needles going through my fingertips. Definitely could not drink cold things either so going fishing late last year and grabbing fish out of the water or cold fish in general was a no go. It’s been tough not being able to get out. I’m still out of work since last September. I have some pills in case I get sick or nauseous but so far so good. It’s definitely been one of the toughest things I’ve ever dealt with and that includes a time of not catching a fish on a 7 hour day in the past. 😂😂 Hope that wasn’t too much but I thought I would share. I’ve tried to stay positive through this whole process and it keeps me feeling better. Stay strong brother!!
  15. Welcome to the Bass Resource Family!! Happy to have ya!!
  16. I don’t have a boat or know how to wire everything up but this is like a small instruction video. I love watching your progress here. Super excited for your maiden voyage. 👍 You’ll have to setup a fishing schedule so we can all participate as a co-angler and test out your new ride. 😂 There’s nothing like a “LIVE REVIEW”. Keep the flow going sir!!
  17. Those pictures look great. I would rent a canoe and call my top water FROG crew and go to work. 😂👍 I am always fishing from a bank. So normally 2 poles, 1 casting and 1 spinning, my sling pack with my tackle and my net. I would like a fishing kayak someday so until then, I’m banking it. 😂
  18. WOW 🤩!! Congratulations!! The fact that you caught a 15.75 pound bass was amazing enough but to potentially get a state record for that fish, that’s priceless!! Such an impactful moment that you will never forget. Super happy for ya!! 🥇
  19. Welcome to the Bass Resource family!! Happy to have ya!!
  20. This is exactly why I like to fish early!!! Plus , I love a first cast, when the water’s glass and your line starts to run!!! That’s a line from Jordan Davis, country music singer. Nothing better!! 🤪
  21. Going to tell people to try the under spin jig with keitech paddle tail trailer. It was one of my favorites last year. I’m going to try the 6 in pearl mega bass magdraft. The freestyle option and the rigged option. Never tried either one and super excited to see what they are all about.
  22. I hope I’m not in the Sesame Street category for fishing line knots but I use the Uni Knot on all three of my rods with no leaders. I have two spinning and one bait caster. The spinning have braid and bait caster has mono. Super fast to tie for me and I’ve never had an issue with that knot so far. I learned it over wintertime some years ago. So far, not super motivated to learn any other knots. I also use the barrel swivel with a U shaped access clip. Because I don’t have a FLEET of rods for different techniques and lures, I need quick access to change them out. So I normally don’t do a direct tie to a lure. I normally fish the weekends from like 5 am to 9 or 10 am. That way I can get some good fishing in before yard work(mowing and trimming) and going with wife to get groceries or Menards or whatever. She is happy as long as I’m not out there for 8+ hours just fishing. I did fish one afternoon for like 6+ hours, missed dinner and neglected to let the dog out. She was HOT. 🤪. I should have been more responsible and respectful of other people that day and I wasn’t. So I try and fish early so everyone is happy and it all works out. 😂
  23. We just had a homemade chicken pot pie casserole with rotisserie chicken. Super delicious!!! Wife also likes to make an enchilada casserole. Meat loaf with side of Bob Evans mashed potatoes. Spaghetti (thin spaghetti)with ground Italian sausage, meat sauce and shredded Parmesan cheese. My niece loved our homemade Mac and cheese(Barilla elbows) American cheese and sliced up hotdogs(Hebrew National 100% all beef). Her mom was mad one day when niece kept requesting it and she couldn’t duplicate it. Her absolute favorite. 😁 All great for leftovers!!!
  24. Happy New Year to every one here!!! Stay safe !!
  25. Thanks @Eric 26 appreciate the info!! I’m a right handed guy and I reel with my right hand and hold rod w/left hand. Most comfortable for me. I like the pricing though.
