Swimming senko vs senko
i voted for senko, i've had luck w/ swimming senko's but find that the tails warped for me in the package i had and after that would never run true. I tried the hot water trick to re-form them, but they just never were the same. maybe i got a bad batch, i don't know

THANK YOU!!! my first bass!
nice fish, i've done the cellphone in the water thing too. So my new phone from verizon is waterproof. That was one of my best decisions. I've gone swimming with that phone and no damage at all.

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
nice fish jay Been able to get out at night for a couple hours and shore fish lately. Looks like the night bite is starting up. Only a couple of fish each time but pretty good quality. Also caught my first bass on a swimbait. I love catching fish on new baits

Massachusetts/East Coast Swimbaitin'? Is it worth it?
Had my first fish on a Yum money minnow yesterday. Not really a full sized swimbait, but a great way to get your feet wet. Not a huge fish, but it was my first time fishing anything swimbait like and it was great to get a fish so soon

evening and night fishing
I've just started night fishing again up here in New Hampshire the last week or so, and have been having great luck on spinnerbaits. big colorodo blades. I often don't get out to the lake till midnight, so i like to use anything that makes alot of noise. No luck so far this year on buzzbaits

Check this Fishing Log out
Databases themselves are only so helpful. But i've never used a database program, including fishswammi.com, that doesn't have a text field in it. The database info helps with a quick comparison And the text section allows me to add the details that i need that database questions do not cover It's a great combination of simplicity and complexity depending on what i need

oiling a revo stx
Trying to figure out where and how to oil my STX just for regular maintenance. I know that there have been posts about this before, and i searched but couldn't find it. I have the schematics but they aren't very helpful. Basically the reel is just a little less smooth then when i first got it a year ago, and want to keep it in good shape. I remember something about a thumbscrew but am not really sure. pics are also helpful if possible. Thanks for any help

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
went out Thursday for 4 hours. I took my mom out for Mother's day and bought her a fishing license. It's the first time she's ever been out bass fishing. So of course I set her up with a watermelon senko. Not a bad a day, i caught 10, and she caught her first 2 fish. All of them were small, but once i figured out that the small ones were up real shallow we just fished for them all day. I'd rather my mom catch a couple of small ones on her first time out, then spend all day fishing for just 1 or 2 good bites. My mom brought a 12 dollor combo that she bought at walmart. It broke in the first 1/2 hour. That's when i set her up with a nice st croix and diawa combo. She couldn't believe the difference. ;D Also saw 2 beds up real shallow, water was 60 degrees. No bass on them, but they are the first beds i've seen this year

Observations On High-End Equipment
x2 great post. I'm the only income in my family w/ a 10 month old son. Fishing is a priority for me, and i try to get the best gear that i can. with that said i have some real nice stuff, some decent stuff, and still a couple of lightning rods. I use the best gear I can. not because i need to, but because i like it. However i'll still fish with the cheap stuff for some applications because i can't afford right now to spend as much as i'd like to

How offten
2 times per week, 3-6 hours normally. one day during the week, and one day on the weekend. once night fishing kicks in up here in the north, i'll probably be out 4-5 times a week
-
Anyone notice
cheap stuff is hardly ever a good deal. I took my mom out fishing for the first time and bought her a license for mother's day and she brought with her some cheap spincast outfit, not even a zebco, something worse. She could barely cast it at all, and had so much weight on worm just to get it out 10 feet. I gave her a shimano set up I had to use and she couldn't believe the difference. First time out and she caught 2 nice keepers. Not bad i'd say

Love the new Bass Raider!
i've had mine for 2 years, and never had a crack. However I have seen one that was cracked and still works just fine, the pontoons are foam filled and will float even if filled w/ water. Pretty cool little boats and great for electric only lakes. I never had a trailer and just threw it on top of my isuzu trooper. I've since upgraded to a bigger boat, but still use my bass raider every once and awhile

night fishing
How early is to early to start night fishing in the Northeast. Will the bass still be up shallow and active during the night like they are later in the summer, or will the colder night push the bass back into deep water?
