Powder paint
It the Powder paint that is used for tacklemaking the same as what actual powdercoaters use? It is probably cheaper to go buy small quantities of powder from them instead of paying $5 for 2oz. Has anyone used powdercoating powder?

New TD- pro at BPS
I see it online for $119. What I am looking for is someone who has held it or fished with it to give a review. I was going to get the TD-advantage at Academy but was going to have to settle for a curado 100d or Revo SX since academy doesn't sell the TD-A anymore.I saw the TD-pro this morning at BPS.com. My only places to shop are academy and BPS

New TD- pro at BPS
Has anyone heard anything about the new TD-pro available at BPS? I might be very interested in this reel since Academy no longer carries the TD-A 153HSTA I had my heart set on with Christmas giftcards.

Removing Paint
Heavy duty chemical stripper is what I used on mine. I had several coats of paint also. It is a very tedious process no matter how you do it.

3M Marine Adhesive Sealant?
It is called stop-drilling like I pointed out in the other post about this boat. The holes on the end of the crack captures the ends of the crack and stops the crack from growing any bigger. I do it quite often on aircraft structures. If you drill the hole and don't get the very end of the crack, you will soon have a bigger crack with a hole in the middle of it!

New BC to go with my avid? Suggestions?
I just bought the same rod that you have. As of right now I am planning on putting a Team Daiwa advantage super tuned. I held one last weekend and it felt absolutely awesome. They go for $159 retail, ledd on ebay

Transporting Long Rods
Why not cut a notch in the side of the tube to allow the rod to fit in it with the reel still attached? You could probably cover the tube in some wood glue or something else to gain some long term durability.

If you have used both cable and digital steer...
I like my PD40 for my application. Electric only v-hull boat. I can sit in the back of the boat and run across the lake with both bow and stern TM's on. I have figured out a trick that helped me greatly with the Powerdrive pedal. When running in constant mode up and down a shoreline, etc I turn the pedal 90 degrees and use the top half of it as a heel/toe steering like a cable motor. Before that I was having some difficulty keeping on track. Would I have liked to have a cable motor? YES Would a cable motor work for my application? NO The powerdrive works for my application

A crack in my pelican fiberglass boat!
first thing you need to do it so stop drill the crack or it will just keep on growing. Take a 3/16" drill bit or so and drill a hole at both ends of the crack, it should look like this O------------O. I would then sand it well, make sure it is clean and cover it with some sort of plastic-compatible and flexible epoxy. If that ended up breaking off I would make a little aluminum repair patch for it and rivet in in place.

I also recieved an order confirmation, but no shipping confirmation. I called them and they said they still had some of the rod that I ordered so it should have been filled. He didn't seem very enthusiastic to actually pull up my order and look at it.

I would not carpet over any woods seams. The wood will flex at the joint and it will look bad very quickly.. I used Lowes carpet for two reasons one was that I bought enough on a remnant sale to do my entire boat for somewhere around $20. Second is that this boat is only temporary for me. I plan on getting a 14-16ft flat bottom or a bass tracker in 2-3 years. I just could not pass on the deal for the boat and trailer. I have zreo problems with the carpet and am very happy with it so far. I would highly recommend adding a plug to the back of the boat. I believe they sell kits you can bolt on after you drill a hole. My drain hole was stripped out on my boat so I cut out a 3" circle out of 1/2"aluminum plate with a 1" hole in it and riveted it to the bottom of the boat. I use a brass expanding plug

Tierra vs Accurist PT
That reel has me very interested. I will have to try to find one here or at basspro to check it out before I buy one.

here is a link to the floors in my 14'v. I have since made the front part that is lower the same height as the rest of the floor. I can post pics later if you are interested. 1/2" plywood primed and painted with polyurethane. The benches are removed to be replaced with 1 swivel seat in back and a tall leaning seat up front. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1183418037/25#25

40% off most St. Croix @ Reedssports....
I talked to Reed's today to check on my order, they had 46 rods to pull at the time. They told me they are in negotiations with St.Croix to purchase ALL remaining Avids, upwards of 800-1000. They are all going on sale till they are gone!

Tierra vs Accurist PT
I am looking for a new mid-priced baitcater for my new AVID rod. I have been looking at the Daixa Tierra and the Quantum Accurist PT. Which would you get? I am steeping up from a BPS extreme. Are there any other reels under $150 that I should be looking at? Maybe a revo SX? Andy
