  1. any advice on fishing x-raps. I plan on fishing them alot over weebeds 2-3 feet under the surface.
  2. Does everyone prefer the size 8 or 10 Xrap for largemouth. I picked up 2 size 8's today in olive and goby. These are my first jerkbaits. I catch 1-5 lb fish in my lake if that matters.
  3. With this, rigged weightless. I am going to try a bead in front of it today like the Ribbet package calls for to see if it will help with weeds. Owner 5/0 twistlock hook

  5. The combo really is fugly. The mouse pad though I would love to have
  6. Both of my extremes are fairly tight loosened all the way also. They will not go loose all the way like a Revo.
  7. or how about this one from BPS with a spring scale
  8. Does anyone have one and how do they like it? Is it worth $50?
  9. I already had backing set to leave 75 yds of fresh line because I did that with my yo-zuri hybrid. My biggest concern that I had was about the braid digging in with that much mono under it.
  10. I finally broke down and bought some 50lb powerpro. Has anyone had any issues with putting 75yards of braid over 50 yards of mono? I have read that all you should use is a few wraps of mono to keep the braid from spinning. I would like to be able to spool 2 reels out of one box.
  11. The floor has some aluminum aircraft seat track extrusion bolted to it in key locations. I have zero flex issues. only the front half of the floor is attached to the boat via aluminum angles. The aft 8ft of floor is laid in place with a slight interference fit with the ribs to prevent shifting with the seat track bolted directly to the floor on th underside
  12. If you are open to suggestions I would suggest that you at least put a rubber boot over you positive electrical connection. It would not be good to drop a pair of needlenose, etc and short the two posts together. Your build looks great.
  13. I decided to try a little toad fishing yesterday. I was using a yum buzzfrog with a zoom frog hook. I ran it over the tops of some layed down lily pads and right when it went into the water, BAM!!! It was the most vicious strike that I have felt yet. The first time I jerked too soon and was promptly pelted with a buzzfrog traveling at mach 3. The second time I waited a second and has a fish on for 2 or 3 seconds, then it got off. I am definitely hooked now. I need to get some braid and try it again. What are everyone favorite soft plastic toad so I can get some more?
  14. I would probably assume the flat bottom to be more stable. What are the bottom widths of the 2 boats?
  15. I will only but the new generation. Comparing the two in the store the hooks are night and day different. I have 17 bass and 3 pickerel on one of the new traps and I still have 95% of the finish
  16. that sure is super clean, great deal
  17. drill the hole where the instructions tell you to on the lower unit and zip tie it there, you also zip tie it to the shaft above where it goes into the head , unit making sure to leave plenty of slack for turning. I ran my transducer down the shaft to avoid that problem and to get rid of the weeds that got stuck on the cable
  18. That is not true, at least in SC. Some of the mustang auto PFd's are classified as a type V, which must be worn to count as a PFD. If you are concerned obout it , get a type II Mustang, which is in the same class as those orange around the neck PFD's and does not nee to bo worn all the time
  19. Why not just keep an extra PFD aboard your boat. That way if you are not wearing the inflatable, it will not have to count as your PFD
  20. RF choke from Radio shack http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103222&cp=&sr=1&origkw=rf+choke&kw=rf+choke&parentPage=search
  21. I have 2 of those extreme rods and am happy with them. They are not the best of the bunch, but for the price they are very good rods.
  22. I think a miniature schnauzer is in your future. Smaller build and they DON'T shed. The perfect house dog
  23. I use 12 lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Gamma copolymer for all of my baitcasters, including my spinnerbait setup
  24. If you are looking for a transom trolling motor, the best bang for the buck definately has to be Minn Kota with their rebate going on. I also agree with buying the biggest you can afford to some extent.
  25. You are lucky, It is a 1 in 10 chance that any of the Wal-marts around me even have any Gamakatsu's except for a few packs of 1/0. They surely don't have any value packs.. Try Ebay, but you are going to have to buy an awful lot of hooks to save money when you have to pay shipping
