  1. my local pickerel seem to love chartreuse spinnerbaits, chrome lipless cranks, and spooks
  2. whats your opinion on clear? I would say I can see 3 maybe 4 feet down in my lake
  3. Has anyone used Yo-Zuri Hybrid in the smoke purple color? I missed out on the BPS sale for the 600 yds of 12 lb green. Only clear and purple are available in 12 lb. In what type of water does the smoke purple excel in?
  4. You will be lucky if you can find full 4x8 sheets of .125" 5052 aluminum under $300. You will probably want to locate 12 ft sheets of .125" 5052.
  5. To me that looks a lot like most of the 3 pound bass I catch
  6. The craftmanship on that model looks a lot better than a lot of the work I see coming in on the real airplanes I work on. Absolutely amazing
  7. I think split shotting has been postponed for me for a while as I can not even get my boat on the lake since it is down so low. the only public launch is unusable
  8. My terminal tackle box is so full I need another. I also highly recommend the spinner/buzzbait box
  9. I think you need a bag of white trash skinny dippers. Seriously it is a swimbait from Reaction Innovations
  10. Always. The only place I do not carry is at work or places prohibited by law.
  11. Not for fishing, but my gun cleaning stuff is in one and my archery stuff is in another. If I had that tacklebox in my boat I know it ewould end up upside down and dumped out
  12. I keep 4 gallon size plastic bags full of the little bags (trick sticks, worms, jig trailers, misc) in a tackle bag that is made for 4 3600 boxes. It weighs 15 lbs loaded up
  13. I am going so try split shotting for the for the first time tomorow. How about a crash course in it. I have a 6'6" med spinnign setup with 6lb P-Line CXX. I was planning on useing some 2/0 Gamakatsu worm hooks and I have pumpkinseed/ watermelon and bubble gum finesse worms. What is the best way to retrieve the bait. My local lake is down almost 30" so 80% of the lakes surface has grass and weeds on the surface now. The water is probably ranging from 4-8 feet now. If I do hook one how do i get him out of the grass on light line?
  14. The arbor is the spool that you wind the line on to. If you put a couple wraps of electrical tape around the spool before you put the braid on your slipping will stop. Instead of tape I spool just enough monofilament so when I add 75yds of braid my reel is full.
  15. I would have to estimate I have no less than 30 different colors of soft plastics in my boat right now with 60-70 percent of them being some type of watermelon or pumpkin

Can you guys give some tips on some different ways to retrieve the bait in grass. I am assuming that the bait need to stay on top of the grass, right?
  17. Now that is funny, but sadly is probably true.
  18. I hardly ever retie when I am out fishing. I just check the knot and make sure there is no damage to the line. I DO retie after I catch a pickerel or two though.
  19. 3 baitcasters 1 spinning and I can't forget my sons Mickey mouse and Shrek rods.
  20. Point up. A little trick I do for the keeper is buy some jig skirt bands and slide that over the main hook after you put the trailer on. It works 10x better that the tubing you get with the hooks
  21. I thought about buying one for like 1/2 a second until I saw the $39.99 price tag. OUCH
  22. I have been doing good lately on the Bandit footloose(shallow) and the Bomber Flat A(medium)
  23. Academy sells it for $7.49 a spool which really not any more expensive than any other copolymer. I use it and like it.
  24. next time you need to pan down to the other 11 empty Miller lite cans sitting on the floor on his side of the boat. ;D
