Revo SX line guide problem
That is why I said gently I was thinking that maybe the cap had unscrewed itself. If the cap backs off can the pawl inside not slip back and skip on the worm gear?

Revo SX line guide problem
On the front of the reel by the levelwind under the line eyelet there will be a round black cap with a slot for a screwdriver. Try to gently tighten it up

Bass Pro Shops Extreme baitcast reel
I bought an Extreme baitcasting combo last year and for the price I have nothing but good to say about it. My second extreme came in the mail last week and I plan on getting at least one more. They definately don't compare to my Revo SX, but at the price point that is not a fair comparision. I would put them against a silvermax anyday though

DieHard Marine
I'm pretty sure that I remember Low Budget Hooker saying that he had a couple Die Hard batteries, you might want to hit him up.

Pro-Tec Tips?
Try heating the jig a little less before you dip it in the powder, it will pick up less excess powder the cooler it is. I use a fluid bed that I made and it helps significantly with the drips.

Ribbontail vs straight worm
I am thinking trick worm when I say straight worm. I usually use Yum dingers and would like to try something a bit different. I am curious about the primary applications for each type of worm

Ribbontail vs straight worm
Under what circumstances would you use a ribbon tail worm vs. a straight tail worm?

What style of hook for a wacky rig?
I also use the Gamakatsu weedless wide-gap finesse, size 1 or 1/0

Gamma Copolymer
If you have an Academy sports near you they sell Gamma copolymer for $7.49. Add the buy 2, get one free deal and the line is actually pretty cheap. I only wish it came in 600 yard spools like Hybrid.

Gamma Copolymer
I have some 12 lb Gamma copolymer on one of my setups right now. I am very happy with the line. It will probably replace 12lb hybrid as my main casting line. Break strength is 20lb per Gamma's website.

How to fish this lake
Lake Cunningham Catt, should I use little or lots of weight. I have tried a t-rigged dinger with a 1/4oz sinker and was having issues making it all the way to the bottom.

How to fish this lake

Bass Pro extreme or Rick Clunn
I have a 6'6" med fast extreme combo already and am happy with it. It sure isn't the same as my Avid/Revo SX, but is 1/3rd the price. I was looking at the 6'10" MH/x-fast extreme, but if the RC is a better rod I might go that route.

Bass Pro extreme or Rick Clunn
Which do you think is a better rod? I can pick up the extreme combo for $100 or get a Rick Clunn for $60, got to Dicks and buy the silvermax/lighning rod combo for $30 after rebete and pair the silvermax with the RC rod. It will be use for shakey head, t-rigs and jigs

lipless crankbait and topwater-Fiberglass or graphite?
I would love to have another Avid, but they are just a little too much money. I could never get the wifes approval until she graduates nursing school and starts to work next year. That is why I am looking at lower cost options. I can understand why the Triumph would not be a good plastics/jig rod, but I thought it might be adequate for the purpose I plan to use it for. What makes it such a bad rod?

lipless crankbait and topwater-Fiberglass or graphite?
I have 3 combo's in mind for this kind of fishing. 1. St Croix triumph TRS70MF with a Promax/Revo S. I love my Avid 66MHF/Revo SX jig/t-rig setup so I am really looking into this combo. 2. BPS extreme combo 7' medium action. I have a 6'6" medium extreme combo that I am using for lipless cranks/topwater/spinnerbait I am happy with it but want to make it my spinnerbait rod 3. Browning silaflex 7' medium with a David Fritts baitcaster. It would serve double duty along with crankbaits until I can get another of the same setup for cranks which will be the next rod after this. What would you choose?

lipless crankbait and topwater-Fiberglass or graphite?
For fishing lipless crankbait and spooks/poppers. Would a fiberglass rod such as the silaflex be a better option than a graphite rod since those baits a treble hook baits?

ST.Croix Triumph and Premiers
The main reason that I asked is looking at blanks, you can expect to pay just as much for an SCII blank as you will pay for a triumph. I would like to know the difference. I even called St. Croix and the lady I spoke with had no idea whatever. She had to pull out her spec sheet just to see what kind of blanks each rod had.

Are the blanks used in the triumph and premiers the same? They are both advertised as being SCII but I can't find anywhere that they are the same blanks.- repairing guide on Avid
The epoxy over the threads on the second guide up from the reel seat has cracked on my Avid. the crack is parallel to the blank. The guide is still in place and is not really loose, but I can move the guide and make the crack in the epoxy open up some. What would be the best way for me to fix it? should I just cover over it with some 5 minute epoxy or use a drop of superglue on it? I can take pics this afternoon if they are needed. - ST.Croix Triumph and Premiers
