  1. My boy got his first fishing pole (shrek combo from wal-mart) at age 2. He is almost 3 now and can cast that thing 20-30 feet. I figure in the next year or so he will move up to real hooks and not just a casting plug.
  2. Return shipping is covered under the $50. You only have to pay $10 to get it there so it will be $60 total
  3. Use St.Croix's gold star warranty. It should apply in your case even though you did not fill out the warranty card. $50 gets you a new rod. For about $100 you can upgrade to a legend tournament
  4. This is my charger. Should I leave it connected 24/7? I did not get a manual for it as I bought it for $20 as a open box at lowes a few years ago. I did not think that it had a float charge at the end so I have just been unplugging it
  5. If you have a tiller motor why not just mount your transducer to the transom and be done with it.If you have a bow mounted trolling motor, then transducer mounting becomes beneficial. But to answer our question transducers are typically mounted to the trolling motor with a big hose clamp with zip ties holding the wire to the trolling motor shaft
  6. I have a vector charger that will handle 2, 6 or 10 amps. If charging one deep cycle battery what setting should I use? I have been using 10 amps but am afraid I am not getting the most out of my charge due to it charging so fast. Will the setting change if I decide to charge 2 batteries hooked parallel at the same time?
  7. I am thinking about getting some CX premium for my spinning reel, I went to the store and saw that it only comes in clear fluorescent or green. Does the fluorescent part have any effect with how visible the line is under the water, or just under the water. My next choice is Gamma copolymer in clear
  8. Wayne P, thanks for the guidance, I will try it out this weekend.
  9. I exchanged mine last week . The sitcker on the battery says made 04/08. Mine is yellow.
  10. The rig pictured looks like it might severely limit a hookset. I usually use a wacky rig on fish that won't bite anything else. Tin, is that the weedless wacky you are talking about also?
  11. Does anyone make one of these? I caught my first bass today wacky style with a 1/0 Gamakastu weedless finesse widegap with a splitshot crimped on the shank. Are there any premade heads like this?
  12. The best way that I have found so far is to throw the tube away that comes with the hooks and buy a pack of jig skirt collars $2 for 100 of them. Put the hook on the spinnerbait and slide the collar on after it. the collar is held much better by the barb as opposed to the stock tubing which is too big. Andy
  13. L.B.H. I have used that paint on some bowpresses that I have made. It gives a good finish but I have noticed that in order to be really durable it needs to cure for at least a week before you put it to use. It scratches very easy during that curing process.
  14. I used 1/2" on my boat. with zero flexing issues. I have aluminum supports, but 2x2's should work well
  15. Its not a taken at a very good angle, but here is my boat
  16. I have heard that one of those magic erasers work good on cork, but have not tried it for myself.
  17. At Home Depot you can pick up some kleen strip ks-3 premium stripper for around $20 a gallon. I used it on my boat and it worked good on the multiple layers of paint. you will probably need 2-3 quarts of it so you will have enough to do the trailer also.
  18. Of course they are all v hulls since that is what he asked for. XcoM274 referred to his boat as a mod v when it is not. I agree with LBH on taking out bench seats as long as the hull has some support
  19. Here is my boat http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1183418037/0
  20. Of course state laws vary, but if he "lost" the title that was in his name I don't think that it would be a very big deal to get a duplicate. If he "lost" the title that was in another persons name then it will probably be a lot more complicated, if not impossible to title it.
  21. I only plan on buying 1 rod for all my cranking needs. Would I be best off by getting a 6'6"M, 6'6"MH or 7'MH. It is the Browning Silaflex rod I am looking at.I would guess that 80% of my cranking will be from 0-10'
  22. I have been looking at getting a David Fritts 5.2-1 baitcaster to pair with a silaflex for cranking. The only thing that is holding me back right now is the fact that it does not have instant anti-reverse. For anyone who has this reel, does that annoy you or hinder your fishing ability? Reading through Iaconelli's article here he lists a superior anti-revesre as one of the 3 most important reel characteristics. Are there any low geared baitcasters in the $75 range I should be looking at? Andy
  23. spray silicone, you can get it at Wal-mart in the auto section
