  1. LOL...you're alright man! You don't friggin' mess around!
  2. I had a couple of those. Mine were really good, very solid performers for many years.
  3. I don't mind, will be interesting to see how they work with it.
  4. Just received my small order of Tungsten flippin' weights from Siebert Outdoors. That guy is squared away, 3 days from ordered to received. That's incredible service right there!
  5. I guess not. What reel are you using it on? How many feet of line do you get on the reel? Not that you need much but...
  6. Acknowledged! I do have some padded knee sleeves that would be excellent protection. Was there at least a reduction in stretch with 30lb? I know it will still stretch but hoping it's reduced some at least. No sir. I stay away from it. I don't think it any better in the stretch dept.
  7. Very same for me. I do still enjoy the cranking combo but not sure what I'll do with the others yet. Definitely something I could have done without. Was fun but the novelty has worn off.
  8. You got one of them close by? Maybe you could pick up a half gallon and ship it to me. Been a long time since I've had a proper Root Beer!
  9. Past or present, what's the heaviest mono you've used for heavy cover flip/pitch/punch presentatiuons. I've always stuck with 17lb XT (used 20lb Big Game once) but I've read of guys using 20,25 or 30lb test, so I'm going to give 30lb (.022 dia) a shot just for the heck of it. Leave the braid comments out of this. I use braid as well but just interested in those with heavy mono experience for this discussion. The truth is, I prefer mono over braid but line stretch is dangerous when you're hanging up in heavy cover at close range. I got blasted smack dead center in the knee cap last week with a 1/2 oz jig that might just as well have been fired at me with a stout slingshot so one of the things I'm looking to do here is reduce stretch by going to larger diameter mono line. Anybody here been there, done that?
  10. Gopher Tackle Mushroom head Owner deep throat series. http://www.gophertackle.com/mushroomjig.html Scroll down to find the Owner Deep Throat series
  11. Pistols are soooo much fun to use. I had a custom 6' pistol with fightin' butt made for my worm rod but my oldest boy liked it so much he got it for a Christmas present. I'll probably get another one made one day. I sometimes use my custom 5'6" Avid pistol when I'm wade fishing. It's just amazing how accurate you can get with those short rods!
  12. Depends if you can weasel a deal on the unit cost, but I'd guess a pair would run you about $4000 minimum. Ask Ajay, he's got a pair installed on his new boat.
  13. I've used black/blue a lot in clear water and have caught a lot of fish with it. Black w/emerald green flake works better for me though.
  14. $88?? That's a really good deal!
  15. Sufix has NanoBraid now too. I've used Fireline for many years now. I like it but most seem to hate it. It cuts through vegetation like a razor blade! It was wildly popular among the walleye guys when it first come out. They used it to troll with, because of the small diameters so they could get baits deeper. I don't know if they still do that or not??
  16. No kidding. Clean it up and be done with it. Maggies are pretty clean really. I've read that they secrete an ammonia solution or something similar which keeps them clean. Since they are, or have been, used medically to clean wounds they can't be all bad. Ain't that big of a deal and certainly not worth throwing out a good tackle box!
  17. Well, that one word got my attention. Curious why you're obligated to recommend. They pay you to do that, or....? I use Trilene XT.. I just stick to XT because I've been using it for 25 years now and it's been good to me.
  18. I don't know much about the Kigan 3D guides used on the new Premier but from what I could gather they are good quality guides. Anybody here have any specific info on them or familiar with their reputation?
  19. Would you pick a GL2 over the SCII?? Well now....really?? You don't necessarily love Loomis, you just hate St. Croix for some reason to make a choice like that! The Premier is not without fault, but it's a very solid performer in it's price group. Every single one I have is more sensitive than the one GL3 I own.
  20. It's a matter of T-wing or not. I'd want T-wing.
  21. I only have 1- 8 ft'er (Talon) on my Champion. Would love to add another but it's not going to happen. Importance of item to me falls right after bow mount trolling motor. I could not fish without the bowmount, I could fish without the Talon but I really wouldn't want to give it up. As Ajay said, total game changer, money well spent!! I use mine quite a bit.
  22. Everything he makes is top quality. Buy with confidence.
