  1. Uh, that made me laugh....
  2. I thought you moved to MN?
  3. My regret is I don't have it yet. I will soon though.
  4. I've made 2 big mistakes in my fishing, #1 was ignoring the Senko for many years, and #2 was ignoring drop shot for the past 3 years or so. I had immediate success with drop shot when I first picked it up but the fish I caught were all dinks. I left it alone until last year when I picked it up again and gave it a more thorough workout. I will ALWAYS have the drop shot ready to go now and plan to use it a lot more. My point would be DON'T make the same mistake I did. Do not put it down. Do whatever you gotta do to get comfortable with it because it is mega effective, especially on those post front days!!
  5. Well, I know of the Garcia rounds obviously but I didn't know any of them had been tailored to light lures. I did a quick google, those bring some good money yet! I could not get a good idea of actual size in any of the pictures I saw though, but I assume they must be a bit smaller?? Cool info though, we can take finesse casters back to mid 70's now!
  6. Razor blade would make clean, easy work of it.
  7. He's on his way I'm sure. He'll close it up any minute.
  8. I have this rod. It's got it's purpose and it's like the long arm of a crane! When you need to use big wire hooks and heavy weights on heavy line, in the heaviest crap imaginable, this rod is an option. I could not even consider casting ANYTHING with this beast. Flip it or maybe pitch it very short distance.
  9. LOL....I've caught hell on here for using the "sissy stick" label before too (RW took offense). It's what they were always called in my era among us bassin' guys. We never got our feathers ruffled about it, just a joke among us, but the walleye guys didn't, and still don't, like that term. A top Daiwa sponsored pro has called them "fairy wands" on national tv...lol Whatever, those of you bothered by such a thing need to take a deep breath and relax. It just ain't that big of a deal!
  10. Peacock rig? Whatever the case, that will be a righteous combo!
  11. The Hawgtech's are a legit product. I think I have bought 4 of them so far, all with those big and beautiful Winn knobs they have. The 102mm swept models have a bit of torsional flex that concerned me but after actually using them it was never a problem. The 90 and 94's are stout! Pretty certain there will be more on my future builds.
  12. Definitely not new. My PM-100 dates back to 1982 I think. I don't know of an earlier model (factory designated) ultralight casting reel but that one takes us back 34 years in the finesse caster game. There was also a mini Millionaire (round version) from around the same time, could even be older yet??
  13. I have Daiwa Alphas Type F, Daiwa Presso, Daiwa TD-Z 105H, ABU Garcia LTX and the old original finesse ultra light Daiwa Procaster Mini PM100 that I've used for finesse duty. All these reels have some level of upgrades done to them, I think all have ceramic hybrid spool bearings, either abec 5 or 7. Which one is best performer? Honestly....in my own opinion, even though I'm a Daiwa guy, that LTX impresses me most so far. That old Procaster is incredible. Very close to being casting champ of the group if I could just control that spool a little better. I don't like to give this reel any credit (because I don't think it's built to last) but the Pinnacle Producer LTE I have is doing a pretty darn good job of throwing light stuff with 6 lb mono on it. Not true 1/8 oz, but I was throwing 1/16 and 1/8 oz wacky jig w/4" finesse worms a respectable distance with a M/F rod. While all this is fun, if you can stand to use spinning gear it will ALWAYS be the cheaper and just as effective route. I have more money tied up into this "fun" venture than I like to admit. It's fun and addicting and then it gets quite expensive. If you have the slush funds, I recommend it, if you don't....back away now!
  14. Maybe, but I kinda doubt it. I bet this kind of conversation is non existent at the BR Road Trip events....but I could be wrong.
  15. If you guys all got together one night in a conference room for a fish fry and fellowship, would you waste this much time on this trivial subject? LOL....this is fun to read though, I'll say that!
  16. About every 10 yrs or so I try to get myself comfortable with a left handed reel. Just bought a new Daiwa Tatula CT 7.3:1 lefty to give it a try. Will probably come up for sale by mid June with little use...lol.
  17. Zona's show is my favorite. Highs and lows and zany humor, it's all there. The guy has a great sense of humor and apparently loves his 5 hr energy drink....lol
  18. Bingo. But....so is a swimming senko and they make that, right?
  19. Guidewear for me x2. I have the Bass Angler suit for summer (it's a bit lighter) AND standard Gore Tex Guidewear suit for cooler spring and fall use.
  20. Absolutely! Heck, I'd be excited every time I picked it up.
  21. Didn't you have several of those A.O.i. Beautiful reels! Being that the TD-Z/Fuego has become my favorite the A.O.i just trips my trigger. Thanks for sharing the nice pictures!
  22. I guess sort of, but not really a rabid brand loyal type like some. Am very happy with my Daiwa's though and while most are quite old they still suit me just how I want.
  23. Same here. I'm still playing around with different options but I use a lot of XT and will continue to do so!.
  24. Wow! That's quite a difference there. Hoping for the best for you guys down there.
  25. The Cabela's Tournament ZX rods are legit (I have 2 now), especially at sale prices! I have my share of St Croix Avids and Premier's but the ZX rods are a bargain. I see guys using them on tv or in tournaments quite a bit.
