  1. I haven't used mine yet but I just got a Daiwa T3 1016SH 7:1 just for pitching. I am retiring my old Castaics for something much more compact, lighter and modern technology.
  2. I stand corrected! In any case, nice topper!
  3. http://tackletour.com/reviewdballistic2500h.html There's the TT review. You can get it for $140? And you don't have it yet? Great price!
  4. Same thought I had. Ain't that the Billy Jack look? My first spincaster was a Zebco 202 on a yellow fiberglass Holiday rod.
  5. Do you have a copy? I have one that was a library book so it's well worn. I'm looking for another.
  6. Yup....talk to them boys at The Tackle Trap (Gary or Brian). They can hook you up with everything you want for that reel. They are great to deal with and run an "on the ball" business! They are my 1st stop for my reel needs. Mods to any reel you use that make it better for you are never a waste! I have stuck a lot of money into my Fuego's and TD-Z's and have no regrets! The Sol is always going to be a reel worth having!

That's purty! Man, I love working laydowns like that!

Nice catch! More details, what kind of tube? line wt? spinning rig? cover?
  9. Short works great if you are really close. I've seen plenty of guys get really tight when they are skipping dirty water docks and they use short rods like that. I've even seen some using customs that are shorter than 5'10". I use a 6'3 or 6'6" most of the time. I have a 6' MH Crucial I use if I really squeeze in there.
  10. Tube, big ones. 4" Prowler Big Butts, weightless, on docks.
  11. I'm so glad to have a Cabela's close by! Love the place! I use the "ship to store" option when internet shopping to save a few bucks. No BPS in my area and Gander is more expensive. New Dick's nearby but it's worthless. I don't do Walmart. Have a couple really good independents (Capra's and Thorne Bros.) close by that actually get most of my business.

  13. It's rare that I don't have at least one spinning rig laying on the deck. Usually it's my MH senko rig or M/XF that I throw tubes with. Some days there are more spinning rigs on deck than casting! I love the days where I'm catching most of my fish on Sliders/4" worms with M/XF spinning rig! Too much fun!
  14. I can tell ya it didn't work on powerbaits for me.
  15. Welcome! lots of good folks here, you'll have yourself a good time.
  16. No, he makes bony fishcakes!
  17. Nope! LOL...
  18. I was up north and got nothing but dinks, both days, no matter where or what I fished. Worst weekend I've had in a long time, was getting ticked off!
  19. I don't care.
  20. I have 4 Hawgtech handles. 2-Shimano swept 102mm and 2 Daiwa (90 and 94mm straights) Like them all, love the winn grips they have. The 102 swept feels a little flexy but it's mainly torsional and causes no issues in use that I noticed. The 94 straight is an absolute rock solid handle and with the Winn grips is my personal favorite. I have the 94 on one of my TD-Z's. Highly likely I will get more of these in the future.
  21. I don't eat smallies, but I will eat 12"-13" largemouth. The small ones are pretty tasty!
  22. I have the ZX Frog rod and do not feel it is under-rated at all. I actually bought mine to punch milfoil with. It will not disappoint in any slop conditions, I can promise you that! It is a beefy rod.
