  1. Nothing beats pan fishing with you love one. My wife also enjoys pan fishing for what she calls bait stealer! But they do make excellent table fair
  2. Finally got out on the water in my canoe on Sheldon Reservoir. Mounted a Old Shakespeare 25 lb thrust 5 speed trolling motor on it side and headed out for a day on the water with the gators. Gators Spotted: 5 to 7 8 to 10 footers ( two bumped the canoe) 3 that were about 12 foot (Burst out from the Lillie pads and Hydrilla) 1 that was at least 15 footer (swimming pass the canoe within 2 feet) Fish caught: 12 to 15 Bluegill on Live Minnows under Float 3 Channel catfish Real Earthworm under Float 4 Crappie none were keepers all on Real Earthworm under Float 3 Large Mouth Bass (All three caught off the two trees in Picture) 2 on Lure - Zoom Super Salt Plus 6 Inch Lizard Pumpkin & Chartreuse 1 on Lure - Heddon Tiny Lucky # 13 Kept the smaller of the three and release the others This used to be a 10 hp or less water way but they have since change that rule. Any size outboard is allowed but boats must not exceed headway speed while operating on the lake. Their were several boats out their with 90's up to 250's blasting around on that water like they were on Ray Hubbard. All in all it was a nice day on the water even when I got bumped a couple of times by the gators. This place is crawling with gators. But they normally stay at the far north end of the lake and avoid boats.
  3. Not tryig to change the tread: Cart7t, what is this, reason I'm asking their is a boat about 5 miles from me that has 3 similar looking post on it. It's in someone back yard and the guy is not to friendly
  4. You didn't say which model of the 19 footer you had so below is a brief of the 1988's that were 19 foot Three Modes Fit from 1988 Listed below (IBoats.com Source) 1988 Laser Boats TX 3800 Twin Console This Laser outboard bass boat has a fiberglass hull, is 19 feet long. The boat weighs approximately 1020 pounds with an empty fuel tank and without any gear or passengers. The maximum horsepower we have listed for this outboard boat is 185 hp . If repowering you will want to verify the max horsepower for safety and to make sure your insurance company will insure your boat. New engines are expensive so having the manual for your engine is a great investment. Despite the fiberglass hull on this bass boat, we recommend that the boat be kept dry and covered in order to preserve the value of the boat. Proper care and regular maintenance can help your craft stay nice and increase resale value. We have included some outboard engine information since a boat isn't much good without a good, reliable source of power. 1988 Laser Boats TX 3850 Single Console The 1988, 3850 Single Console is a 19 foot outboard boat. The weight of the boat is 1000 lbs. which does not include passengers, aftermarket boating accessories, or fuel. The max rated horsepower of this boat, as listed by the manufacturer, (according to records we have) is 185 hp . If you do not have the manual for your engine then we highly recommend that you get one as repowering is costly and it takes you off of the water. When repowering, it is best to verify this information for the sake of safety and to ensure that your insurance company will cover you. While this bass boat does have a hull made of fiberglass, it is beneficial to keep the boat clean and dry by covering it properly while not in use. Good maintenance and care can help your vessel stay in good condition and have a higher value at resale. Applicable engine information has been included below since a boat needs reliable power. 1988 Laser Boats TX 3880 Flippin This outboard bass boat is 19 feet long and weighs 990 (pounds dry). This weight does not account for passengers, fuel, or gear. The beam of this craft is 85 inches. The max horsepower for this boat on our records is 185 hp . If you choose to buy a replacement engine for your Laser 3880 Flippin boat, it is recommended by many, that you verify the max horsepower for your boat. This is because of safety reasons - as it would effect the insurability of your outboard boat. Be sure to have the manual for your engine handy, not only for your safety, but to save you money on repair costs. Your Laser fiberglass hulled boat can be kept in better condition by covering it properly when not in use. This will help to prolong its use and resale value. Proper maintenance and care (and winterization if needed) will also help maintain the usability and value of the craft. As outboard engine life also effects the value of a boat, we have included engine information as well. Mods.... ok Not ok I'm not sure See Below Here is a link at IBOATS to 5 pictures of a fast looking at least 1987 Laser 19 http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/marine_classifieds/view_photos.cgi?ad_id=453895&img=0&count=4
  5. How do you guys attach more than one pic in a reply / post (Ok I See "Imageshack" and the Likes) Add a stripe to match that 25HP Mariner Motor
  6. I can't quit my day job and become a painter
  7. x2 And besides that, Bass don't care what type of boat, Pole, Reel or line for that matter. The only thing they care or have any care for is in that lure or bait at the business end of that Hook! I'd fish from a bath tub if it was my only way on the water!
  8. Straight 24V Tm will usually only have 2 wires On the 12/24 TM most will have three wires. 12/24 Is a TM that has a 12/24 volt switch or setting and can operated on either 12 or 24 volts
  9. That's a sweet ride. It should do you well. The one thing that I would do is secure that portable gas tank! Tight Lines to Ya!
  10. I have a 17 foot Aluminum Canoe with 30 inch with. Very stable I taken it out on day trips to fish but never fished from it with a motor. I fished from it the first time today with a motor. Covered a lot more water, Only used one anchor, Two would have been better. I had planed on using a 41 # MG Brute 12/24 TM but I went with an old 25# Shakespeare trolling motor for the first power trip. I'm glad that I did for I'm sure that 41 # would have thrown my canoe around like a rag doll. I was very surprised as How well the little Tm push, dragged MAN Handled the Canoe. 3 I didn't make any kind of fancy mount for the TM, I just place a 2x4 between the clamp and the side of the canoe and it worked well, after i found the sweet spot for it. Only thing I didn't like was turning. Not sure if it was due to the Keel on my canoe of the spot which I mounted but it was not easy to turn it around quick. But it would do fine on large turn but you would end up father away from where you were trying to get to at first.
  11. So your saying that after the truck and trailer back down in to the water the driver got in and attempted to drive it to the other side of the lake to get it out. And that is why the setup was turned around???? Things that Make you go Hummmmmmmmm
  12. That a nice rig. You and the little fellas should have a blast fishing off that ride

  14. Get youself of these, then you can recharge your batteries, also you can have a few comforts of home while at the camp. 15. I would guess that the truck was park with the boat off the trailer. Driver either forgot to place the vehicle in park and hoped out to do this of that and the truck and trailer just rolled away! Would not be the first time this has happen
  16. yep! get the Deep Cycle, not the dual purpose one.
  17. One is a true deep cycle battery and the other is a dual purpose battery. The duel cycle Starting/trolling has higher CCA but not as much Reverser Cap which gives you less trolling time but has the capability of starting larger Outboard due to Higher CCA The deep cycle one will give more trolling time, It still has the power to start your motor but it not what it's design to do. I believe this will shorten the life of a true deep cycle battery in the short run. If you just need a trolling battery get the one that is a true deep cycle. if you need both starting and trolling then get the duel purpose battery, or get both and used them accord to their design. Just my two cents...
  18. two 15 lbs anchors http://academy.com/index.php?page=content&target=products/outdoors/marine/anchors
  19. Don't take this the wrong way but this seams like a lot of useless trouble to gain 5 knots/mph, just so you will not be beat to the honey hole of your and the competitions choice. Put one of those Yamaha 5.3l 350 motors on that thing and just drive it at 65! Weight, don't worry about the extra weight. If the boat starts to sink at the stern from the heavier motor just go a little faster and before you know it you will at your honey hole and all will be well. 5 Miles and hour. Seams like you would want more after the fiver was added. I would try to increase the speed to at least 100+ that way it will be a while before you feel that need to increase HP to in crease the speed again Fishing at 65 mph must be a blast with crank baits Oh If you want to use used what you have and still get to the fishing spot first. Below is all the prop you will need to get their first, It has several settings no tools needed and you can install it your self It can be test either on the lake or at the house on the muffs. One of the settings should get you what you are looking for.
  20. Hum.... That poster 2 up from this one did just that. Garage sale camera for 20 bucks, The camera came with a small TV/monitor. Both the camera/TV were both AC and DC ready. Lights were taken out of some old instrument panels at work that were being thrown in the trash. ""Prob not worth your trouble to rig it. "" I didn't rig it up because I'm cheap, I just like to build stuff out others trash/garbage. Old Saying........ One mans trash is another mans treasure Not my two cents but I'll pick em up ;D
  21. camera equipped Baby Monitor at garage sale. homemade Plexiglas box with one side regular glass glued together. On a 10 foot poll Worked great till trolling motor prop got it and it sprung a leak!
  22. If it ain't on Jerry Springer, it more than likely ain't worth watching. i would guess this feller has the whole Shaw Brothers Collection.
  23. I might add a curved piece of wood to the 2x4 floor supports as seen in your last picture. It would be so that the load of your supports is not on a small area of that 2x4 that contacts the floor but a larger area. Reason being I can't see if your upper floor 2x4 framing rest on anything other than the side walls of the vessel. This added material might keep your boat from spreading out some due the weight of your deck across the gunnels. Just my two cents.
  24. Redlinerobert..... Was this an evil plot to get us to challenge your brute with our level one guys against your level 6 guy. Only to be slaughter by your level 6 brute giving you more experience points
  25. Not fair that dude had a Battle Axe! :-[ I shall return >
