G loomis
I dont know lots, but i have heard repeatedly g-loomis is good for IMX and GLX. But there are beter options than G-lomis if you were looking at there lesser rods.

TM-front or rear mount?
In a 9ft Pond hopper it should be easy to try it both ways. You could even switch while on the water. Let us know which way you prefer.

Power poles?
I haven't used any sort of vertical sleeve pipe on my boat yet. I simply stab into the mud and tie on to it. I am sure it would fail in heavy wind, but in light variable winds that tend to switch and spin your boat around it is just what the doctor ordered. I have seen a commercial product that is basically a flexible fiberglass pole you stab into the mud. The video for it showed it worked pretty good so I just duplicated it. Truth be told mine is an aluminum pipe. but I am sure anything will work. I have also seen comercial dock builders with large pontoon boats do the vertical sleve on bow and stern with a 3" diamiter tall pipe. It held solid like a floating dock.

Legend Tournament, tough choice
I know this isn't the question you asked, but can't you use the warranty to replace the broken rod? Have you contacted St Croix to see if they want to help? Even if you Bill Dance the rod I would contact St Croix. They frequently want to replace broken rods just to buy loyalty.

Oakley polarized glasses
verry good advice. My Ray bans woork really good and look good. My Costa Del Mar work even better, but arn't as stylish. Lots of quality glasses on sale. http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/subcat/9/Sunglasses.html Costa Del Mar Fathom with glass polarized 580 lens at 40% off http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/CDM0004/Costa-Del-Mar- Fathom-Polarized-Sunglasses-Costa-580-Glass-Lens.html I bought them a year ago for $150 and am very glad I did. My best glasses. This website lets you return anything undamaged for any reason. Such as "didn't fit". You lose the shipping price though.

Power poles?
I had those same thoughts. I have since bought a Manual Pole 8ft version. It cost about $20 at home depot and about 30 minutes of whittling to sharpen one end. I am actually surprised how well it holds after you push it in to the bottom.

4 wheel drive vs. All whell drive?
I could be wrong, but this is my layman's take on it. 4WD is not safe to run on pavement. There is no front to read differential. So if the tires run slightly different distances something has to give. That's the differentials job. Without it the tires need to be able to slip (like on dirt) or the gears could break. AWD has the front to back differential and is safe to run on pavement. And it's always in 4wd mode. What I am not sure about is the positraction. If one tire is stuck will it spin needlessly taking all the motion away from the other tires? This would leave you stuck at the ramp if one tire is spinning in the sand.

Hook Manufacturers need to get the hint!
Are you guys having this problem with Owner and Gamigatsu? I use Owners almost exclusively and haven't had that problem with suffix braid. I don't get to fish but once a week though.

What frog has the highest hookup ratio?
Thanks J I was thinking the poll should automatically be viewable so that people don't bogart the results with uneducated voting just to see the results. I don't think the author should have to make an extra vote spot for the uneducated vote to not be tallied or needlessly tallied. I have used the spro a little bit, but i have other top water lures that work so good in slop that i never bother throwing frogs much. Spro is the only one I have and I have caught the 1 bass that hit it. I am sure i would catch many more if I used it more.

What frog has the highest hookup ratio?
I don't want to pick one, but I can't see the results unless I do. I think this pole has valuable information in it and I would like to be able to see the results without skewing the results with my 1 frog opinion. This frustrates me and I have said this on a few poles. So can someone please tell me the results so I don't have to bogart it?

Deep Cycle Batteries
Good to hear that you got 3+ years from your last battery. I am still working on my first el cheapo battery (1.5 years) and can't comment on better brands yet.

Deep Cycle Batteries
+1 Battery maintenance is more important than brand name. If you are good with maintenance than up the brand name otherwise stick with the cheap ones.

Harris - Kissimee - Central Florida Fishing Report
Lake Conway 4-11-08, 5:30 till sunset. Calm winds building to 5mph SW at sunset. One toothy critter on the first cast. 1/2 lb speck about 20 casts latter. Both on broken back shad rap. 1lb bass on a tiny minnow. Then as the light changed I caught 3 bass in 5 casts. 2.25, 1.5, 1.5 lbs on the broken back shad rap. One more bass at 1/2 lb at twilight on tiny minnow. Lots of pan fish nibbling on that tiny minnow lure. If I had any live minnow I think I could have caught 20 1/2 lbers.

bull #@%& fishing ticket
Is there a reference number to the rule / code that states single hooks only on the ticket? It kinda sounds like a guy impersonating an officer. Why would anyone need to show up in court for such a minor infraction? Speeding tickets don't require a court appearance.

makeshift anchor
+1. Alot of guys have 'em sitting around collecting dust and would be glad to get a few bucks out of em. +2. thats as cheap as it gets. I have a stack of block here you are welcome to, but it may not be worth the gas money for you to come get them. anything that weighs 10 or 20 lbs and you can tie a rope to will work.

Super Glue Dispenser

HOWto keep decking level
My back deck is out of level. It slopes to the back of the boat. It doesn't really affect anything. If you want it level be sure to float the boat before making any level marks.

Are Bass really worth this??
Wow. That sounds like a great pond. Nice fish.

styrofoam boat floats
I haven't seen to many boat builders on this forum. Google http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=boat+flotation+foam And thinking out side of the box I have used milk jugs, water bottles and Ping-Pong balls. I assume they work, but fortunately have never had to test them.

20hp Mercury problem
Start with the cheapest repairs first. Fuel filter, fuel lines, fuel pump. Those are my top suspects. Clean the fuel filter. If there is anything in it that looks like it could be the inner lining of a fuel hose than replace the fuel hoses. The fuel pump on my 60 HP Johnson took me about $15 and 1.5 hours. These steps ended up fixing my similar problem when I thought I needed a carb clean. I have also heard of trash in the fuel tank being picked up and clogging the pickup line. Sometimes when you stop the motor it falls back into the tank. Then your motor runs fine for a while until it gets picked up again. That sounds like it is worth a check too.

Super Glue Dispenser
Thanks guys. I was worried it might spoil a bag of plastics if in the same tackle box or something. But I guess there is nothing special to it. The standard squeeze tube is just fine.

Harris - Kissimee - Central Florida Fishing Report
Conway on Sunday dodging rain storms. There were some real nice calm spots in between storms. I slept in and went for the lunch bite from 11 till 2. I had to hide under the bridge for two of the down pours but still fished for 1.5 hours. Caught 1 healthy 1.5 lber on 10" motor oil or watermelon seed colored worm in 12 ft of water. Strong fighter.
