Flurocarbon Line - which one & why??
I have heard bad thing about vanish too. "ya dude, the only thing that vanishes is your fish when the line breaks" But I watched a friend land a 5.5lb bass on 4 lb vanish. Now I use 4lb with no problems yet.

Trying this Fluoro leader deal..need some help
I have been using the Uni-Uni. It passes through the eyelets pretty good. I sure would like to learn a thinner knot though. I typically find this line to line knot to be the week link in my set up. But I still use a leader religiously.

suggestion
You can use any color you want. I would start with the ones you have had success with or the ones recommended here. But my advice is to use punctuation in your sentences and capitalize the first letter of the sentence. I'm not trying to be a complete jerk, but you will get better responses when people can easily understand what you said.

humminbird side imaging
I want one can kinda afford it, but I can't justify a sonar that is more expensive than my boat. In a year or two when I upgrade my boat I will have one.

Braided line vs. mono???
My opinion is braid with floro leader for everything. I am addicted to braid for its sensitivity. I enjoy the manageability and castability. The floro eliminates my concerns of visibility. I like its abilities. ;D

Is rod sensitivity "over rated" for many techniques?
Wow. I hope my skills reach that level one day.

Any spinning rod suggestions in the $100-$150 range?
I have a Shimano Crucial Drop Shot 7'2" M,XF. It has become my most used rod. It is very versatile in that I throw weightless plastics, and 1/2 ounce spinners and cranks with it. I don't have a lot of other rods to compare it to though. I have one Fenwick HMX and the crucial is clearly better, but nearly twice the price. I have a Loomis IMX MH,F. It is obviously better, but almost twice the price. The IMX MH,F is to stiff for me to feel comfortable with cranks and spinners so this rod is dedicated to C-rig, T-rig, frog. If I could find the Avid that I wanted I would probably go that route based on what the experienced members of this board say. I suspect it is between the Crucial and IMX, but at the Crucial price.

Florida ?
I think that's the same place I took mine. Near Brandon / Tampa. You are right it was tedious. It was a new style of test for me. I was used to non open book tests. But it still passed first try thanks to the prep classes. I think it's a 60% fail rate. I saw a lot of ticked off people after that test. The prep class even went so far as to tell me to bring bookends, jacket, watch, snacks, drinks, and water. A note to everyone else, if you are going to take this test take a prep class. It is worth every penny. I finished one segment of the test 2hours early and bought some shrimp and fished under the bridge crossing the intercostal. Nothing to report there.

Is rod sensitivity "over rated" for many techniques?
My vote is for $120 sensitive. My hands are not as well trained as the more experienced on this board an i enjoy feeling the exact wobble of the lure. I can tell what type of weed I bumped into and I can feel sand, mud, branch, stump, picked up weed while still vibrating correctly, picked up tiny leaf while still vibrating correctly, and of coarse a bite.

Florida ?
PM sent. Very much in line with what these guys said. That GC test was the hardest 2 days test I have ever taken. I had a headache for a week after that test.

Fixing Leaky rivets
Have you tried tightening the rivets? I have yet to see a better technique. I work with fiberglass for surfboard repair and more recently fiberglass hull repair. I do agree that it is permanent or close to it, but the work put in to it is close to double that of tightening the rivets which I feel is just as permanent. And I hate trying to wash fiberglass resin off my hands. But I guess it could also depend on what supplies you have readily available in your garage.

Florida ?
I am GC in Orlando. Yes there is still lots of work down here in the commercial sector despite the economy. Residential is slow now. From what I understand the pay scale is lower down here though. We don't have unions. If a lake is 100% developed the gators have usually been removed. If a lake is 50% developed then it's only a mater of time for your dog to get eaten.

Do Expensive Polarized Glasses Make a Difference?
This is my take on optically perfect. With your naked eye focus on the farthest object you can see clearly. Really focus on the details. Now put the glasses on and look at the same details. If they are distorted or can't be focused on then the glasses are imperfect. That being said no glasses are 100.00% perfect, but many are close enough that I can't see any imperfections. Using this technique has allowed me to rule out most $40 polycarbonate lenses for myself. PS. I have a pair of Natives and cant find any imperfections with them.

Coming soon to a lake near you!
I agree, you can never be too precautious. One introduced species can be detrimental to a lake and that would be a shame, especially to a great lake like Casitas x3
