  1. Structure scan is a Lowrance item. The Helix 7 SI will come with a transducer to make it work. Just make sure to follow all directions for install.
  2. Haven't used live bait in a long time but when I did I hooked them just under the dorsal fin.
  3. Dont see where it was said to stay away just because of the wood. Only to be cautious on its condition. To not be cautious and check it out would be horrible advice.
  4. It has a Dual Pro Professional 15x3, I took a look and its listed to be approved for AGM.
  5. I may be wrong on this, but if I remember correctly in 2006 was still using wood in parts of their boats. Would be very cautious on how it was holding up 10 years later. That Tracker looks rather good in the pics, definitely worth a look.
  6. Ethan, recessed trolling motor pedals are outstanding to use. Being able to stand flatter, not on one leg balancing while the other is on the pedal is a night and day difference.
  7. Both, 2 for trolling motor, 1 for cranking/accessories
  8. want to switch out the group 27 lead acid batteries in my boat to group 31 agm's, when reviewing capacities what is most important? Reserve capacity at 25amps?
  9. Love my RT188, I have not been in a RT198 personally but have been told the extra foot of length is behind the seats. Front deck size is the same, and there is plenty of room. The first time I had my 188 out and got to run wide open it went 47mph (I have a 115hp Pro XS 2 stroke). with a little adjustment they are running low 50's with them.
  10. They are the same thing.....
  11. Hey wait there Megastink, why do you have my truck..... Nice rig, perfect for the OP's purpose.
  12. Glass would have to much weight, tin boats are perfect for it. Just do not go with something less than a 48 inch wide bottom, the wider the better.
  13. Bunnielab, one of the biggest concerns I had before buying was not being mechanically inclined. Goofy issues like this will drive me nuts until I get thru this learning curve. As long as I do not blow it up before I get to that point....
  14. Okay, found the answer. You have to twist the yellow portion of the cap assembly to counter clockwise to release the pressure on the o-ring. Then to reinstall you push the assembly in and turn the yellow portion to clockwise to tighten it. This was not explained in the owners manual, only says to remove cap and reinstall cap. Yes I still feel like a moron for asking this one but leaving it up just in case others run into the same concern....
  15. Sorry for all the stupid questions, first time running the boat and running into things I do not know so asking.... This one is really stupid, the oil reservoir on the front of my 2015 115hp Pro XS has a cap which does not screw in it has a rubber gasket and just pushed in. Took it out to fill up the tank and now cannot get it back in. The rubber gasket does not want to fit back in. Can someone tell this moron the secret...
  16. yeah she was rather thirsty for oil yesterday, ran thru 3/4 tank of gas which was almost a full tank of oil. Except for the one time she hiccuped she jumped up on plane very easy. Only did a short WOT near the end, ran 5800rpm and 47mph. Not to bad for this little boat.
  17. Its a 2 stroke, nice big oil tank on the front of the motor. I followed the break-in, did the 1st hour with the rpm and trim restrictions then started to fish some. The next 3 hours of break-in have only one restriction, do not run more than 10 minutes at the same rpm makes it easier to fish while doing it. Just run spot to spot.
  18. Finally got my 2015 RT188 out yesterday to get thru the first hour of break-in. With the 115hp ProXS it jumps up on plane and ran great. However, the last time I went to leave a spot I got blue smoke for about 5 seconds (none at all before) and after about 45 seconds of idling out of the no-wake area I hit the throttle to get up on plane and the motor hiccups. After a second or two it gets going as normal and ran back to the ramp like nothing was wrong. I am still in the double oiling stage so was thinking that had some to do with it, just not sure. Any have any thoughts?
  19. Just saw an announcement, Timmy Horton post on Facebook, that FLW will have a 6 week tourney on CBS this summer. Major network coverage of bass fishing....
  20. You can use spinning for any tactic/cast, not optimal on some but functional.
  21. queue all the post about how that is nothing, were they live its -100 every day, winds 50mph and 10ft of snow with no school delays.......
  22. No, would not be optimal for a lot of people but no reason not to use it if that is what you have.
  23. The RT188 I just purchased has the trolling motor hard wired, there is not plug to go bad. Granted switching to a different trolling motor may be harder but for reliability and performance this is the way to go.
  24. Far down the list of things to think about. location, time of year, etc
  25. This year bought a boat, but really try to have as short of an off season as possible. Even in colder temps the bass are still catchable.
