Maryland's Who's who!
Can only imagine how bad the river was Saturday, Anna was ugly (I fish in the same club as Logan). When was the incoming tide? A tide going against those winds makes it a whole lot worse. I had a pretty good day at Anna fishing wise, ended up with a limit for 12 pounds even to win the co-angler side. My boater had a great plan to not run main lake and stay in a protected cover which fortunately was holding some fish.

A hard lesson learned
I knew I would learn when I joined the club, was amazed how much in the first year and still learning. If you want someone to go over your game plan before any tourney's feel free to message me.

A hard lesson learned
Its a learning experience and an invaluable one. Honestly the best advise i can give is to just fish. It does not matter what your boater is throwing, fish what you have confidence in for the conditions. Learn to adjust what you do to take advantage of what oppurtunities you get. You will not get prime shots at fresh targets. A slightly different angle, presentation or color may make a difference. One mistake i see others make from the back is just casting to the same spots as their boater. Look for different chance, for example the back side a stump the boater may not hit. Or if they are power fishing pick something finesse to have a shot at fish not hitting moving baits. Remain confiident, take in all you are being shown. Sometimes the best lessons are learned by having your butt kicked. It happens to everyone.

Line size for heavy jigs
Another vote for 20lb

I Need Help!
I see you are from Northern Maryalnd, I am in Montgomery County MD. By the sounds of it you are just not giving them a presentation they want at this time of year and with the up and down temps the bite has been a little off. Last weekend was a decent jerkbait bite, tried spinnerbait and swimbaits but only a couple hits and they were all short strikes. The fish have moved back a little bit, first drop off, due to the weather fluctuations.

Maryland's Who's who!
Alberto knot, easy to tie, strong, small and can be trimmed right down to the knot so it passes thru guides very well.

Trailer towing problem
I agree with senile....sounds like it has surge brakes that didn't release.

Best line for spinning bass setups.
Depending on the size of the reels getting above 10lb mono may not work so well. I am a flouro guy on everything except topwater/punching but if you don't want to go that route I would suggest 20lb braid with a leader. Will be easier to manage than the heavier mono. Being medium rods heavier jigs may be to much also, stick with smaller ones.

A one year old site housed out of Turkey, I suspect it is not a valid site......

Elite Series may pull out of Potomac tourney
Yeah, they threw out this to try to save the event. I would guess the Elite series would still have an issue with things. And it doesn't do anything to help all the smaller tourneys that normally hold events. They can't do this option, Virginia ramps are going to pick up a lot of events.

Maryland's Who's who!
Great fish Ken!!!! I was at BH yesterday but only managed 1 before the trolling motor died. Going out again today with a different boater. Will see how it goes today.

Mark Zona is on these forums!
Zona is great, a day on the water with him would be awesome.

Maryland's Who's who!
I will be on Black Hills Sunday morning myself, just hoping the temp drop doesn't give them lockjaw.

Thursday night tournaments
Go out and fish. My club has a guy with a jet boat that topped out at 25mph. He goes and wins on the biggest lake we fish (Gaston) and AOY with it.

Kind of disappointed in Dobyns
Sounds like the dealer did a clearance sale so had the "All sales final" thing going on with the older model. Dobyns was a shot in the dark, worth a shot but with an old model not much chance it would work for a discount.

Kind of disappointed in Dobyns
Did you go back to the shop you bought it from or straight to Dobyns?

Is Flourocarbon worth it?
Only one test matters, time on the water and finding what works for you.
-
Is Flourocarbon worth it?
I use flouro for all setups except topwater, and punching. Tried a few different ones, stuck with Invizx on spinning and Abrazx on baitcasters. I don't have manageability issues with either one.

Elite Series may pull out of Potomac tourney
The tidal Potomac has been on a decline for a few years now. There is one particular person who has a thing against tournaments. Recently someone close to him was put in a role which influences regulations. So now there are these rules being put forth. These things are not dealing with the actual problems of major loss of crucial grass beds or discharges of harmful substances into the river. Due to someone's personal vendetta against tourneys. The state of Maryland will lose money, businesses around the ramps will lose business.

Elite Series may pull out of Potomac tourney
Well the fiasco continues, after putting in catch and release areas on the Potomac and Upper Bay the state has put in requirements for tourneys allowing only 1 fish over 15inches. This is only for tourney's, meat fisherman can still keep 5 over that length. With this announcement it appears BASS will pull the Elite series tourney and move it somewhere else. The limit on tourneys is only for tournaments launching from Maryland, if you launch from Virginia you do not have to follow it.

Picked up my PPQ
When I started shooting again a couple months ago I was low and left. It was all trigger pull, and have been concentrating on improving it. Now I am am still slightly left, but even with the bullseye. Most shots were right on the edge of the bull rings. Had a few odd flyaway shots with the new PPQ but can work those out as I get used to it. I don't have a good pic at this point, will get one later and upload.

Picked up my PPQ
Got out today for the first time, outstanding pistol. The quick trigger reset took a few rounds to get used to. Now I need to get better with it.
