  1. There are no spots in Black Hills. Just largemouth and a couple smallmouth.
  2. Finally got thru all the red tape, and picked up my Walther PPQ M2 tonight. Its a 9mm with a 5 inch barrel. Gave it a good wipe down and ready to hit the range this weekend.
  3. Fiberglass and props don't go very well on the upper Potomac except in a couple areas like Big Slackwater. It's very shallow and rocky. Better off looking for an aluminum jet.
  4. If I can't find a boater to go with may just have to go to the Urbana pond tomorrow. There are some decent fish in there just have not figured that place out though. Anyone else heading out tomorrow?
  5. Always charge it as soon as possible after use. And yes you should top it off occasionally, better yet is to have a trickle charger and just leave it charging.
  6. Green pumpkin
  7. The best ever is a discussion with no conclusion, he is near the top. What sets him apart is how cerebral a player he was, game in game out he was prepared like no other. He never had the biggest arm, not very athletic but took what he had and made the most of it. For that he needs to be congratulated for, we see so many athletes waste talents its great to see someone make the best of everything he had.
  8. If its dry out towing with a cover can be bad for the gelcoat of the boat. Road grit gets caught underneath it and acts like sandpaper against the gelcoat.
  9. Now that is a bag to earn a Classic title, wow.. Congrats Edwin
  10. I had Mike at DVT build a 7ft 4in ML for shakeyheads. Has a good soft tip that works great for the Ned rig. It is paired with a Stratic CI4 with 8lb Invizx flouro. I highly recommend Mike, his work is outstanding.
  11. I kind of enjoy the fact they are having to fight for bites, being the best in the world tough conditions is a good test. We all do it why not them?
  12. Finally getting to the end of dealing with the red tape in MD to purchase, and have decided on a Walther PPQ M2 in 9mm. Feels like it was made to fit in my hand with a really good trigger pull. Since I will be target shooting with it the 5 inch barrel was not a bad option either. Cannot wait to get it all finalized.
  13. Here is another post we started earlier
  14. Of the items which they have proposed this is actually the best of the group. The Mattawoman area will mess up a lot of tourney anglers though. Will it help, who knows, this is still not addressing the big issue which is the loss of grass. The son of a certain person against tournament fishing just received a promotion at the regulatory agency so things may get tougher.
  15. I have a Save Phace and love it. Whole face protection that is comfortable to wear. Doing 20 minutes runs at 60mph in 27 degree weather was no issue. When i am wearing mine i have a hood across it and completely covered around the edges. Never had a problem with it moving on me.
  16. As stated before nothing beats time on the water. What worked for me other than time was going a local club. Getting the time on the water with people who knew WAY more than me was a great teacher.
  17. Keep an eye out for $1 gas purchases, a widely used method for these criminals to verify they have a valid card before going to a store.
  18. Talk to a custom rod builder and build exactly what you want. At that budget you can do a great build. Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle built a 7ft 4in ML Spinning for me and its outstanding. Got exactly what I wanted in the rod, paired it with a Stradic CI4.
  19. Its personal preference 100%, fish what feels good to you. Not everyone will be the same. The only thing proven by someone trying to tell you it has to be done a specific way is they are someone to ignore advise from.
  20. Wouldn't worry about breaking it on a fish unless you "high-stick" it, over bending it. I use a 7ft 4in ML for 4in senkos, shakey heads, and dropshot. Caught fish up to 6.5lbs on it with no issue. You won't be able to horse them in quickly but the fight is a lot of fun.
  21. Good to see the ladies out. My daughter just turned 18, one of her presents was going to the range for the first time. Has never shot at all before so put her thru the beginners class which included 50 shots with a .22. Asked if she wanted to try the 9mm I was shooting and she jumped at the chance. Didn't do to bad at all, at least had a decent grouping just needs some work on trigger pull. Kept tightening her grip during the shot.
  22. I install Hacker Keyboard one my devices, gives me a qwerty keyboard and all the normal "special characters". Some websites i end up using function better with the arrow keys which it provides.
  23. Very true but the OP was asking about baits, structure and finding fish is a whole different topic.
  24. Yes...and well...no. Yes, you should try to get comfortable with different baits in order to be effective in different conditions. There is no one bait that works in all conditions, sometimes they want moving baits, sometimes slow, sometimes in tight to cover, and so on. However, you also do not want to make the mistake of over complicating things. Stick with basics in each area until you get comfortable they you can add to your arsenal. Attempting to become efficient with to many things will just make things harder. And welcome to the site, there are a lot of articles and video's to help with learning If any questions come up there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here to help.
