Competitor Dies- Ontrack Incident W/ Tony Stewart
It just got updated that he will not race today. I have no prediction whether he will be charged or not but purposefully gunning your engine to intimidate the other person resulted in their death. He can easily be charged, its not murder but it can be manslaughter.

Competitor Dies- Ontrack Incident W/ Tony Stewart
Watching the reports and what Tony said afterwards it seems to be a little more to it. He admitted hitting the gas to show his displeasure, so he saw that guy on the track, wearing black on a dimly lit track had no bearing on it. It is never a smart idea to get out of the car to approach the other cars, but it happens all the time and Tony has done it multiple times himself. It concerns me that his response to seeing the other driver was to run close to him and gun the motor. You have to be smarter than that.

Maryland's Who's who!
I have never heard of anyone actually getting asked for that when stopped. Even when they got a 20 minute inspection. Made it out on the upper Potomac yesterday for a few hours out of Edwards Ferry. Caught a good number of fish but it was a dink fest, could not find any bigger fish. But did have a first, the friend I was with has a jet boat, while running up river we hit something. Turns out it was a sunken tree, one piece hit the water intake perfectly. The end went up the intake and broke off. We beached the boat and tried to get it out but it was wedged in. Went from 25mph to speed to 10 the rest of the day.

Pro Character Traits
A lot of fishing can be considered luck, but in this case you make you own luck. You can be the luckiest person ever but unless you know where to find good fish given the conditions you will not consistently catch them. A pro has to know how to break down a luck to find productive areas on different lakes, at different times of the year and in different conditions

Flourocarbon!
If its for a baitcaster try Abrazx, have had outstanding performance out of it at a good price.

Special Tournament Fishing Regulations?
No, the regulations should stay as they are.

Culling Technique ?
I use the Ardent culling balls, I don't take the time to actually weigh each fish but will estimate a length and put that length on each ball. when its time to cull just look for the lowest two numbers (if the smallest two are close its better to doublecheck) to compare against the newly caught fish. I am not a fan of putting them in the livewell without the culling system because it gets hard to grab them later, and multiple times I have seen guys lose fish because while they were messing with getting a fish out one jumped out and ended up back in the water.

Multiple Casts
Great advice, also remember to cast back to a good spot after getting one. Especially if it was a hard strike or it tried to run out as soon as it bit. May be a sign there are more there and there was competition for the "food".

Co-Angler Étiquette (Myth)
As a co-angler fishing in a tourney I cannot fathom not expecting to paying my boater money for gas/expenses. Yes he is going there and fishing anyway so his expenses are not more having me there but I am using his boat. To me its a matter of respect, I am gaining the advantage of using someone elses boat they do not have to allow me to do so. Anytime else you make use of others items you pay for the privilege, boating should be the same way Sometimes they will refuse and I will stick money somewhere and tell them later. Other times i get caught at this and it does not occur.

What Kind Of Line Will Best Suit My New Reel
I hated flouro until I tried Invizx, kept getting beat by others who used it so I gave it a try. Works out well, it still has some stretch but not terrible. Biggest advantage was the slack line bites, the density of the line transmits bites extremely well. I do use KVD Line and Lure which makes it way more manageable, very small thing to do for great benefit.

CPR, catch photo release. no reason to kill a big girl like that just for the sake of hanging the skin on the wall. the pics and memories are more than enough to remember the day.

Jon Boats Basics
The only problem with rivets is they have a higher tendancy to leak if they are hit into a rock. A dent may open the hole the rivet goes thru allowing water in, a welded seam will bend with the dent and not leak.

Best Boat For Lake W/no Trolling Motors
My initial thought would be kayak, there are some great models out now since its becoming more popular to fish out of them. But will be more of a personal preference, kayak would be the most mobile of the choices. a small jon would give you the most room but hardest to row.

Maryland's Who's who!
I will caveat this answer with this is not normally how I fish senko's, I usually do t-rigged. But what I found when I do it is I have more luck using the regular non-weedless versions, and a quick sharp snap hookset. Doing a strong hookset on those small hooks will pull them out without getting a set into the fish. Good to hear they were biting so good, hopefully soon I can get out there.

First Baitcaster Power?
Another vote for MH, this will give you the option to expand your arsenal. No point in buying another rod, even its a first baitcaster, to fish the same baits as you already can fish. The extra strength in the MH will let you work deeper into the heavy cover where the bass will hide, this is a good advantage to have. A rod 7 foot or longer will help with casting distance and line pickup when setting the hook, good things for a shorebound angler.

Black Lake Ny Or Lake Oneida
Jar11591, same here on the smallies. I was up there at the end of July for years (not this year), did well the first year and made reservations to go back the same time the following year before we left. The second year was insane fishing every day the whole week. We would fish from smallies during the day then go for some crappie the last hour or so of light so we could have a fish fry. Love the place, now that college is done I am trying to go back up next year.

Black Lake Ny Or Lake Oneida
I know Oneida is better known but for a trip like this I would go with Black Lake. It is a lot smaller so would be easier to break down to find a pattern and tons of good SM and LM.

Need Advice On Keeping Our Draw Club Healthy
As a co-angler, in the same club as Stratos20SS, the boater vs. boater/co-angler vs. co-angler setup is one of the best things about the club. With a random draw to see what boater I fish with each tourney I get to fish with different guys. Everyone has their own style and I get to learn from each. Also, our club is setup to help everyone learn, we are competitive but not to the point of being jerks to each other. The two most important features for keeping new members around are being able to learn and being treated with respect. When I first started thinking of joining a club some had a very bad reputation for treating co-anglers like second class members they didn't stay around very long. If they get treated bad because they are a newbie or a lowly co-angler they won't stick around. As Logan said, without new members the club dies and by the sounds of it your club has a lot of older guys who may not be doing tourney's much longer. Can't talk to the boater side of things, never been a boater in a tourney.

Advice On The Right Rod Action.
It will depend on what you are going to throw with it. Are you going to use it for the same baits as the first one, and same weight. MH is a good center point for rods, but if you start getting into 5/8oz and higher jigs you may not have enough power. Same with frogs in heavy weeds and a H would do the trick. A M would work for some smaller jigs, and t-rigs. This is just my personal opinion, but I would look at trying to expand a little. Not a similar setup to what you have but something that will allow you to throw a wider range of baits and different sizes. How to expand depends on the areas you normally fish.

Spinnerbaits, Buzzbaits, Swim Jigs Only For Spring And Fall??? - What Are You Supposed To Use During The Summer?
It is more about baits that can be effectively fished in the areas where the fish are during a particular season. In you example, these baits can be productive during the summer months. But in the summer pattern people may have more confidence in other baits, it just works for them. You just have to find what you are confident with and what works for you. Don't give up on a particular bait because of a pro interview or an article.

Just another person who cannot tell the difference between being upfront/honest and an arse. I do like how his post said "illegal here in MA" but his profile said Dunedin, FL.

Who Does Baitcaster Reel Clean And Repair??
Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle does outstanding work and he is a sponsor for this site. All my reels go to him. There is also a discount for BassResource members, you can't ask for more.

Virus ???
Best defense is use a regular user account during normal use not an admin account. Also, use Firefox with **** and *** Plus addon's. Will improve speed and not let "extra features run. Or use White Hat's Aviator browser.
