Maryland's Who's who!
Can't wait to get out, between weather and homework its been awhile. Doesn't help I signed up and paid for my tournaments at our club meeting Wednesday night, or the web master put a count down clock on the website to our first tourney. Have a three day weekend coming up for Presidents Day, hopefully get out during one of those days.

Getting Introduced Into The Tournament Scene?
Look for locals clubs and start as a co-angler. Gather some experience, make connections with other tournament fisherman and go from there.

Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
Pohick is actually a pretty good ramp, doubt you will have any problems.

Beer Sponsor Of Flw
LgMouthGambler, what is the difference between tobacco and beer? Both legal substances for adults to use. I have no issue with it, cannot get what the issue for some is. Its not like this is the only place they will see it. Better to get an explanation from the parents about things then get to be a young adult and get info from "friends"

Maryland's Who's who!
Glad to hear the leg is doing better, hopefully it won't cause you any problems when its time to go fishing again. I guess it soon time for the Harrisburg outdoor show. Been a couple of years since I made it up to that. Large show but seemed to be heading away from freshwater fishing except for guided trip information for Canada or Alaska. Anyone been up there in the last couple years with more recent information? Seems the cold weather is finally settling in, not sure when I will get out. Guess I have no choice but to do my homework now.....

Maryland's Who's who!
Its been tough at Dickerson in the winter the last couple seasons. Cannot remember the last time they were actually running heated water. Its fishable but tough when no heated water is running. It can be very good when its running though. I have been there with temps in the teens, big chunks of ice on the main river but heated along the shore. Caught fish casting a popper, some between chucks of ice which meandered into the heated water area. Have a picture somewhere....

Maryland's Who's who!
The Ag Center is closer to Sharpsburg, does have a pretty good sign out front. If coming from Hagerstown it is on the left off of 65.

Co Angler Blues....
Leviathon, that is part of the fun of being a co-angler, learning to adjust on the fly. You just have to fish your strengths in whatever your boater does, depth of water or boat speed. You do not necessarily have to fish what your boater does, a lot of times something a little different works better. Look for different angles to cast to if he is fishing visible structure, a slightly different fall rate or color may help.

Laptop For Under $600
I just bought an Asus, so far it has been excellent. Hardest part is getting used to Windows 8 but it is not that bad. I would suggest spending as much as you can, as fast as things develope in the computer industry a cheaper laptop can become obsolete rather quickly. I would try to stick with the Intel I series of processors. And you are correct, as much memory as possible is one of the best things you can do for performance.

Maryland's Who's who!
This will be my 4th year with FOBA, i guess you left before then. Its been a lot of fun, learned a lot since I started there. yeah Dramer, getting off the bank definitely has its advantages especially in the colder months when fish are deep. Only place I know of up there for this time of year is the heated water discharge but I do not know specific directions. Basser89 knows the details I am sure he will chime in.

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey JP, I am another one of the guys from Montgomery County, would enjoy a chance to fish with you. Ever thought about joining a club, great way to meet guys for fishing. The one I am part of is based in Germantown, the website is www.fishonbassclub.com. If interested let me know I can let you know anything you need.

Maryland's Who's who!
Rippin-lips, that should be it, you have to go into Fort Frederick park to get there, drive by the fort itself, then after a set of railroad tracks you will see a dirt road off to your right. That is the road to the boat ramp. Dramer, once spring gets here hopefully we can get something set up for Black Hills. I am sure Basser89 will want to join it, spring is his spinnerbait time at BH.

Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
As long as you stay in VA creeks or the main Potomac River you are fine with one exception. Going into DC waters would require a DC license. That is pretty good trip up the river, no need really to do that. I think I saw it on here but to be sure, everyone would need a Saltwater Registry card in addition to a license.

Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
Not really any more pressure than any other times, only heard a few cases of someone fishing up to close or running on plane a little to close. Just keep in mind if anyone acts like an idiot don't let it ruin our day and just move along. Pohick probably would be okay anyway, it seems most like to stick in Belmont Bay, Aquia, Mattawoman, Blue Plains or the Spoils.

Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
There are always multiple tournys on that section of the river. just a couple are bigger. Except for the weekend series or flw its not usually much concern.
-
Meet And Greet On The Potomac August 24Th And 25Th
Pohick would be a good place, nice ramp and that area has plenty of places to fish without hitting the main river. Have to check tourney schedule along with kid schedule to see what weekend I could do but hopefully I could.

Maryland's Who's who!
I was out last saturday but it was down in Occaquan creek on the lower Potomac. Even down there there was ice, had to use the boat to break it up to fish some areas. Bass were not biting but did get a few nice crappie. If there is no ice left fishing is still worth it, it may be slow but better than sitting at home. Just check that some of these places are still open. A lot of places are closed from Dec 15th thru March 1st.
