  1. ive only caught two pickerel, and i caught em both walking the dog with a senko underwater on braided line. the first one barely put a knick in the line and the second one did nothing to the line. should i use a thin wire leader just to be safe? i have no problem using a leader with spoons and spinners, but will a thin leader affect the action of a jerkbait?
  2. cool thread. this should get interesting. well the person i would want to fish with the most would definitley be hawg caller. paul is a great guy who really has his facts straight on catching the bigguns. i'd learn alot in fishing with him. we met on a different bulliten board a pretty long while ago and have been buds every since. i would alo like to fish with Tin, we'd have a good time ;D i have fished with BassinWill301 and we had a good time, he lives down the road a few miles so we plan on fishing together alot when it wrams up
  3. when you say it can be perfectly calibrated for general use, do you mean that you can manually calibrate it, or that it comes dead on?
  4. korea_bassin that is a very good example of trick photography. that fish really does look as if its 10-12" long, and its hard to estimate how long it realy is! your hand is huge next to it so i'd have to say its around 6".
  5. braid. unmatched sensativity and zero strech=good hooksets. also gets you out of cover nicely.
  6. those kids are really idiots....... :-/ you think that's funny (which it is) watch this!!! http://youtube.com/watch?v=4JMOh-cul6M but bad language in that video though :
  7. never heard of em but they sound cool. have any links?
  8. great thread! lol heres a pic of me looking like a sped holding a 3lber. i was tryin to tell my dad how to operate the camera and he snapped a pic of me talking:
  9. oh, and....your fly's undone ;D
  10. the pic of that brookie is just beautiful keep it up dude!!! need more pics!!
  11. SICK FISH DUDE!!!! i dont care what you caught em on those are some great fish! good job keep it up!!!!
  12. the other day i noticed my strike king buzzbait was lacking in the skirt department, so i took one of the chart./white elaztech ez skirts from the chatterbait kit i got as a gag gift and put it on the buzzbait. looks better than when i first got it ;D
  13. a day on the lake with my dad in our old leaky jonboat. we were fishing on a new lake and we got as far away from the truck as possible in our search for the good spots. we had a crummy old interstate battery powering our 36lb thrust minn kota and the batterey was old and weak. to make matters worse we forgot to charge it the previous day. to make matters even worse, we forgot to pack oars. to make matters as worse as possible the batterey died on us at the complete opposite side of the lake than where we parked. so we had to row back to the truck with a stick that i snagged. took us like 45 minutes to get back to the truck. we got a new batterey the next day
  14. i got a new avid crankbait series rod for xmas and a citica to go with it, and i bought my self some yo-zuri hybrid copolymer line to use. im excited to break that combo in!!!!
  15. WAY TO GO DUDE! what a great bass!!! and a nice trout too! how did you manage to get that trout?
  16. wow paul those must have been a very good fight! i love UL fishing. i need to do it more this year. last time we were at bps, my dad bought his own UL rod/reel so we no longer have to share mine ;D only thing is its hard to get a solid hookset with a t-rig when you use UL (unless you add a trebel, but then you are sacrficing snaglessness)
  17. go here http://www.rapala.com/how2tv/ and watch the video for the subwalk. the wings are to stabilize the lure under water so it doesnt roll over. i like x-raps alot. ive had good success with the silver/black. i think thats the color i'll stick to....unless i can get my hands on one of those muddler colored xraps (not sold in the us).
  18. my last fish was this chunky 3lber on november 11, 2007: at least i ended the year with a nice fish :
  19. i fish for fun alot. cannot stand tournament fishing. just my opinion and i guarentee lots of people will disagree but i think that tournament fishing takes the fun out of things. youre under so much pressure to catch the biggest for money. i dont think thats right. i think fishing should be a relaxing fun hobby, which is why if you ask me who's my favorite fisherman i would say something like bill dance or hank parker, because they arent in the tournament trail, they just fish for leisure. but hey thats just me, to each his own.
  20. winter for sure. i dont like not catching fish and i also dont like it when the bass are finiky, but at least when that happens in still out there fishing, winter just sucks cuz there is no fishing.
  21. I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO USE MY NEW FISHFINDER SO I CAN TARGET LARGER FISH IN OFFSHORE WATERS!!!!!
  22. great job. ul bass are awesome. my best ul outing was at a farm pond, the top of the pond was covered in duckweed. i took an ultralight with 6lb test and was casting out a weightless 7" ribbon tail worm and crawling it across the top of the duckweed. little dinky bass would just expolde on it. ended up catching 18 bass that day, on that setup, biggest bass was about 16". with the ul rod, the 6lb test, the bass, and they few pounds of duckweed they were haulin', it all added up to an excellent fight.
