Falcon Low Rider
I'm kind of a bottom feeder when it comes to casting rods, but I bought a 6'6" MH Falcon Low Rider a couple of weeks ago and have come to feel that it is the best rod I have ever used. I know there are more expensive rods out there, but I find that I can put a spinnerbait anywhere I want with this rod. The shop I bought it from says they have a tough time selling Falcon. I can't understand why. They seem to sell a lot of rods that cost almost three times as much.

classic country
Just proves you don't have to be from the country to write good country songs. It was written by Steve Goodman from Chicago who also wrote The City of New Orleans. My favorite country singer of all time is Don Williams.

Best tough guy actor on tv/in movies
Jean Reno played a hitman in The Professional opposite Natalie Portman. I thought he played the smatest tough guy out there.

High speed reels ?
I have a Revo SC 7:1 and find it useless for anything except Senko or plastic worm fishing where I find I need to pick up a lot of slack in a hurry. I tried fishing a spinnerbit with it when I first got it but it required so much torque to retrieve even a 3/8 oz. willowleaf spinnerbit that I gave it up. I have a couple of 6.3:1 Daiwas that I use for topwater, RatLTraps, and all other crankbaits except really deep runners. I use a 5.2:1 for spinnerbaits. I am picking up a couple of Quantum Accurist 6.2:1 reels this afternoon to replace my old Ambassadeur 5000s on my flipping sticks. A local shop has them for $80 and Quantum has a $30 rebate.

4th Annual BassResource.com Roadtrip!!!
Kentucky Lake? Hmm, looks like I will have to buy that new truck after all. Can't be pullin' the old boat back home with a 10 year old truck.

Why do people in FL use Hand Cont Trolling Motors on the BOW?
I don't see that in North Florida. I've always wondered why Bill Dance uses one. I was watching him today and got to thinking that I never see him standing in the boat.

Sportsman's Warehouse
This is good news because all we have within 100 miles or so is Sports Authority, Walmart, and one pretty good local shop.

Awesome guitar video
Well, I guess they're OK, but they're no Los Indios Tabajaras. ;D

This is going to far ( Just Got To Vent )
They're from Topeka, Kansas. Any further discussion of their reasons for demonstrating would probably violate BR's restrictions on religious discussions.

Not impressed with Trilene XL
XT is a BAD choice for spinning reels. I love it for baitcasting reels though. I do use 6lb XT on my spinning rigs and it's ok but 8lb test and up is just not a good choice for spinning apps. It did that on baitcasting reels. If I allowed any slack in the line, the XT would spring up off the spool like it was trying to unwind itself.

Not impressed with Trilene XL
That bass was 9 pounds 8 ounces. It was the biggest bass Dad ever caught. He released it after I took pictures. We lost Dad right before Christmas in 2006. Trust me, fishing together is what made a father and son best friends.

Not impressed with Trilene XL
I tried XT last year, looking for more abrasion resistance, but found that it was so stiff that it cast like baling wire and would spring off the spool. I just spooled up a reel with some Bass Pro Shops XPS fluorocarbon and like it so far.

Not impressed with Trilene XL
That's interesting. I keep going back to Trilene XL after trying new lines. The only thing I don't use it for is flipping or frog fishing in the pads.

Sportsman's Warehouse
Does anyone here have any experience with Sportsman's Warehouse? They are going to open a store here in Tallahassee this summer. I have looked at their web page but I can't tell much about the stores or their pricing.

Daydreaming of being in a different industry.
Judging from the number of bad tats I see, that doesn't seem to be a problem.

Revo S or Revo SC
I have the SC and would recommend it. I use mine for fishing worms and Senkos.

Trophy Live Bait Fishing
Bass feed on the smaller bluegill before they become so large that the bass has trouble swallowing them.

Does wiring deteriorate
Brand new battery last year and I keep it charged with a Dual Pro on-board charger.

B.A.S.S. boats?
IIRC, the 1st Bassmasters Classic had the competitors in matched Inboard drive Rebel Bassboats at lake Mead. Wow, you must be as old as I am. I remember that. It was interesting to see some of the early things on bass boats that seemed like a good idea at the time. I remember a manufacturer making bass boats with Corvair engines in them. I also remember when Astroglass boats had headlights.

Does wiring deteriorate
My 1984 Bass Tracker came with a 28 pound Minn Kota trolling motor which, at the time, seemed adequate for the job. A couple of years ago my father replaced it with a 40 pound Minn Kota which seems really anemic. It runs fine but just doesn't have as much power as that old 28. Would it help to replace the old boat wiring? I am thinking of using my tax rebate this spring to replace the trolling motor with a 55 pound, variable speed MK Maxxum.

I'm Back from Chicago!
SWMBO and I spent a few days in Chicago last summer. I'm a small town boy, but we loved Chicago. The Art Institute itself made the trip worthwhile. While we were there we took an architecture boat tour. That was another thing I would recommend to anyone visiting Chicago. That, and Lou Malnatti's Pizza.

Daydreaming of being in a different industry.
I spent 20 years in the fashion industry. Trust me, it isn't fun. Too many drama queens. The women can be contrary too.
