  2. Also you know your addicted to this site when you are a senior member and have been on the forum for less than a year.....
  3. Avid you realy do make me laugh. You are probably the most entertaining member of the forums. You always have funny stuff to say.
  4. Thats a realy nice bait... This post will be moved to fishing tackle soon though...
  5. What type of fish is that second one? We dont have those in San Diego:( I wish we did though that thing looks like it would be a good fight. I know its some kind of pike, gar, or muskie but I am just not sure. Again sorry to sound like an idiot not knowing what kind of fish that is but in San Diego we have absolutely NO fish like that whatsoever...
  6. Hmmm I dont know... Maybe try to catch a bass on the one type of bait I have never caught a bass with... a jig.
  7. LOL@ the expression on your dads face
  8. Hey dude you should realy post pics like this in the outings section. A lot of people wont get to see a great pic like this...
  9. Dude... in early december I caught a 10 oz bluegill on a rattletrap while bass fishing. It was pretty cool. I also once caught one that could have been close to a pound on a rapalla while bass fishing. I personally think for their small size they put up a bigger fight than bass....
  10. I have caught many strange fish but have yet to catch a fish with any kind of deformity. I have seen people like T-Rig and Troutfisher post deformed fish and I wonder if any of you guys have any other pics of deformed bass or any other kind of fish. Lets see them...
  11. Went out fishing with the ultralight and 4LB test again thismorning. The bite was much tougher. A storm moved through the San Diego area last night and today was very cold and windy. temperature in the 50s and very strong winds. I went out for about 2 hours and only had three bites. I was able to hook up and land all of them on my ultralight though. Biggest fish was also a pretty good size one. 2 LBS 5 OZ. I caught all three fish with a weightless 6 inch purple roboworm again... here is the pic of the 2LB 5 OZ bass i got today on the ultralight. He put up a very good fight and he has very pretty colors... Sorry for the "avid" style pics anyway...no one to take a picture....
  12. Oh i forgot my other bone head move.... I purchased the rocked rod.
  13. All the big boys came on a white Boo Yah Pond Magic spinner bait. Surprisingly it way out fished the regular size spinner baits. I was just burning it right under the surface near any bait fish activity and clumps of reeds. I didn't have a scale on me so im not quite sure what they weighed. I'm sure the bigger ones were over 5 but tell me what you guys think they weighed Hard to guess the weight from most of those pics. I think the second fish is a 2LBer. The 4th fish is probably a 5-6 Lber. That is a hawg. The fish laying on the ground next to the rod is probably a 4 LBer... just guessing.
  14. I was fishing a small pond brush pile with a 4 inch senko in the summer time. I got a hit and set the hook as hard as i could. Thing is the fish was a dink and came flying out the water and got stuck in the tree behind me. Was quite funny...
  15. Wow X-Rap looks like you had a GREAT trip. Over how many days did you catch those fish? Also about the drop shot....most fish that you catch on it will be around that size. For me the drop shot is the rig that catches me mass numbers of dinks but hardly any good size bass.... Maybe its different for other people but I seem to catch a dink on every other catch when i use a drop shot....
  16. Im jealous man. Two 3.5 LB largemouth bass in an outing... I have not caught a bass over 3.5 LBs in 08 so far
  17. Non taken, she wasn't that long. Just a short chunky northern Nice Brokejew, now I know where to go when I head up to the Bay area this weekend Yeah at often times a picture never does a fish justice. I have a pic somewhere af a 11LB 5 OZ carp and he only looks 7-8 LBS..
  18. I decided to fish for bass today with an ultralight set up and 4 LB test. I cannot seem to catch a big fish to save my life recently so I decided I would try for some normal size bass with ultralight gear instead. Went to a local private pond that is surrounded with reeds and brush and started tossing a 6 inch weightless purple roboworm. I ended up catching 5 bass within a little under two hours. The biggest one was an ounce shy of two lbs but he felt like a monster on the ultralight rod with 4 LB test. Here is a pic of that fish... Do any of you guys ever fish for bass with ultralight gear? I think you should try it if you have not. It is great fun and makes catching smaller fish much more enjoyable.....
  19. I agree with you on these newer mitchell reels. I used to have an old ugly mitchell real as a kid and it worked well. However many years later i bought that same mitchell reel you mentioned. You could not case the thing three times before getting line twists so bad you had to cut your line. I took the reel back the next week...
  20. Nice colors on that second trout
  21. Ok this bass was caught yesterday. I posted his pic in the outings section but I think it belongs here as well... check out this HAWG
  22. I saw this show today. Sad thing is I was up at like 5 am with nothing to do so i turned on my tv and saw this fishing show on versus. It was a good show and had nice footage of fishing a bed for smallmouth bass. I just loved the underwater footage off the bass going through the spawning ritual. The best part though was when the angler hooked a big smallmouth and it came unbuttoned very far away from the nest. Then the underwater diver followed that smallmouth bass all the way back to his nest. The bass was able to find the nest even though he came unhooked very far away...
