I realy do want to catch a HUGE fish though....you know something over 8LBS of any species just for a new avatar pic! You see I have been realy working hard to lose weight and have been pretty successful and I want a pic of the new skinny me with a big fish which I do not have yet I am sure I will get one soon if I just get on the water more....

Whats with everyone on here using SWIMBAITS all of a sudden? (me included). I guess they are the cool thing for anglers right now...kinda like pogs and yo-yo's were at certain stages of school...LOL

Well you see even though I only make about 30 casts a trip with it I take it with me on a lot of trips. I have had this bait well over a month and only caught two fish on it. I dont know maybe I am using it wrong.... Thing is if I ONLY threw this bait for the whole trip I would probably be out 2-4 hours and catch only ONE bass! I need to catch lots of bass to keep me entertained... Im sure I will throw this bait and get more baits like it when I become pro with it though...

Well have any of you guys ever bought a piece of tackle that you found COMPLETELY useless? I am not talking about stuff like a inexpensive hardbait or plastic you wanted to try and not caught a thing on. We have all had that happen. I mean have any of you bought anything that was expensive or was supposed to be great and turned out to be a complete piece of junk? This includes things like expensive lures, rods, reels...stuff like that....anything over $10 you know...

Its not 8 LBS but please dont be offended by these comments. We are not calling bs or calling you a lier. You probably did not have a scale with you at the time and guessed the fish bigger than it was at the moment you landed it because you were exited. I do the same a lot of the time. I land a nice fish and at the time I land it I look at the fish and think to myself "THIS MUST BE A 6" and then I weigh the bass in the 4 LB range.... Anyway that is still a very nice fish at around 5 LBS which is still a lunker!

About your Wall Mart scale... Is it that black berkey digital one that goes up to 50 LBS and costs about $20? I have this scale and have not had any problems with it at all...I posted a thread on here today that has two bass I weighed on it. Big bass went 5 lbs 9 oz and the second bass in the thread was a more average size bass that went 2 LBS 7 OZ. Anyway I think your 19 inch bass would be very low 4 LB or very high 3LB range. I honestly have not been measureing bass at all since I got the scale....

Yeah it was a good two hours. However 5 of the 7 fish were under 1.5 LBS that I got on the bass assassin fluke. Dinks around that size will hit anything that moves erratically. Those fish were fun on the light gear though... Used heavy gear for the big one!

I been gone so long... since when have you been "brokeju"? Anyway...I doubt I will ever catch a bass that big...that is a toad...nice fish! Gogogogo for the world record!

Had a good two hours of fishing today. Would have stayed longer if it was NOT so incredibly hot. Anyway sorry I have been missing from the community recently. Il try harder to fish more and be on more... Anyway caught 7 bass total today. 5 of them were dinks that were under 1.5 LBS all caught on the small bass assassin fluke... However I did get this nice bass that went 5 LBS 9 OZ! Got him on a big bluegill swimbait!. My second bass ever on one of these baits... Yeah I have only caught two bass on this bait but both of them were big. I also got this guy that was 2LBS 7 OZ on a fluke Anyway about the big bluegill swimbait. I have caught a couple fish on it but I am so inconsistent with the bait it is kind of embarressing. I take it with me a lot of my trips and probably make about 20-30 casts with the bait each trip of a decent length and usually come up empty on the bait. I usually throw it on a heavy action rod with heavy line as well. I usually do a pretty slow retrieve with the bait. I have caught a couple good fish like the one in the first pic on it but I have no consistency with the bait at all....

Got all these bass within the last week... 3LB 1 OZ 4 LB 3 OZ bass on a fluke..... And here is the new FIRST for me. 4 LB 4OZ bass caught on a SWIMBAIT!. I used a castaic bluegill for this guy. I actually was starting to think the bait was a waste of a lot of money because I have thrown this bait several times without a touch on it. I gave up on the bait pretty quickly each time though since I was not having much luck. Anyway this bass crushed it pretty hard.... This Catfish was caught more than a week ago... Biggest thing I caught within last month...and its only 4LBS 8 OZ....I should try for some carp so I can catch a big fish....I forgot what catching a 10LB+ fish feels like.....

Well what are some of the silly things you did when you were first leaning how to fish? Also if you have seen someone else doing something silly where they obviously did not know what they were doing post it here! Ok the best one I have seen was when I saw a guy fishing with a spinnerbait. This guy was not casting the spinnerbait out and reeling it in though. Instead he tossed out his spinnerbait and let it sit there. He also had a huge bobber about the size of an apple tied on his line about two feet above the spinner....I found this funny.

Also mattlures how big is the one in your avatar? Its a REALY small pic but I would guess that one is over 10 LBS for sure

Hey guy what are you favorite baits for catfish? To be honest I find all store bought catfish bait completely useless. I even tested it once. I had two spinning rods with 8 LB test line casted out. One I baiting with store bought bait and the other with raw bacon. Got two cats on the raw bacon. I also lost a 3rd cat on the bacon because the hook came out. I did not even have a hit on the store bought catfish bait all day. I find stuff such as meat(any meat they do not care, even Carne Asada) , mackeral, worms, chicken liver, bread, and dough to be the best baits. Anyone else find store bought catfish baits useless? Got this catfish that went 4LBS 8 OZ about two hours ago on white bread.
