  1. If this thing was a Rio Grande then it was a huge one...i looked these guys up and it said they were usually around 6 inches fully grown...this guy was around 8-10 inches...god i feel like an idiot for forgetting to measure him. I know he was bigger than 6 inch though...
  2. I want to catch one of those.... I heard they put up a better fight than largemouths for their size yet they dont get as big.. Too bad we dont have them in San Diego....
  3. That 2 lber is a nice fish
  4. That is a trout no bass would be able to handle....infact I bet that thing would actually eat bass....
  5. It does look similar but my fish is much darker....I wish I had spread my fish's fins out to see what they looked like better. It could be a dark roi grande perch though i guess. The spots on my fish go into the tail like they do on your pic. My fish also has a ragged tail like something tried to eat it. Are Roi Grande perch native to the southern California area? If not where are they found and how big do they get? Actually il go look this up now on google. I know that it was put in there by an individual person and not stocked into the lake though....
  6. This one i got on a live crawler. I went out today with only finess worms and a little tub of crawlers I was given. I got a couple one pound bass with the finess worms. With the crawlers I got this thing that I am clueless as to what it is, some good size bluegill, and a little bass.....
  7. Was fishing with worms with my ultralight rod and caught this.... I have no clue what it is...I think it could be some kind of sunfish hybrid or maybe an oscar that someone released into the lake because it got too big for a fish tank. This fish had small teeth in its mouth as well. Anyone know what kind of fish it is?
  8. What is a helicopter lure?
  9. Yes he is back in the pond....the pond is actually just behind the camera man in the pic. I have a pic of my releasing that same fish as well.
  10. This is by far the biggest largemouth I have caught out of the local pond which is just down the street from my house. The pond im refering to is very small and this is the biggest bass I have caught in there. I have only ever seen a couple others around this size. Yeah I can tell if a fish weighs 1 or 2 pounds but I am not good at guessing the weight of these bigger bass. I also didnt bring my measureing tape with my this day so I do not have the bass's measurements . Im guessing he is probably around 4.5 pounds though
  11. Maybe its just your camera but that fish seems very dark...I wonder how much it weighs....Probably 9-10 lbs
  12. I live in San Diego California. That is one of two ponds located by my house. That pond in the picture is actually a pretty good size lake. It is actually 3/4th of a mile to walk around it. That pond is a 5 minute drive from my house. The other pond is much smaller and is surrounded by reeds yet there are many openings in the reeds you can fish from. There is an island in the middle and lots of structure. The lake in the picture does have quite a bit of algae on it in other parts of the lake not shown in the picture. Also the lake in the picture does not have a lot of structure to fish however it has many deep drop offs.
  13. I once decided to prove the point that a nesting male bass would hit anything by rigging up a gummy worm and tossing it on his nest. He hammered it.
  14. At first glance of the pic it does look like some kind of record fish. However when I looked back again I noticed he was holding the fish way out to make it look bigger. The moral of the story is that if you catch something you think is a record to get it certified. I dont think it is a record though from the measurements that he gave. From those measurements I cant see any way it could be over 8 pounds at most.....
  15. oh btw I have caught 5 largemouth bass over 7 lbs but unfortunately I caught ALL of them before I got my camera. I just got a camera at the end of last year so I dont have pics of my biggest bass
  16. That is quite an ugly looking bass....hes got a big chunk missing from the top of his back infront of his fin...I wonder what that is from?
  17. Oh by the way guys I got you all beat.....Check out this monster....
  18. You going to have a replica made?
  19. I read in another thread today that you have the swiss largemouth bass record... Can you post the pic of that hawg here please so we can see it?
  20. Did you compare your big fish to his three pounder for size? Just wondering if yours deffinitly looked bigger than his?
  21. Did you actually weigh the one on the right at 2lbs? It looks about two pounds in the pic so im guessing you did. Also from this picture it looks like the larger fish on the left is around 4 pounds. He looks bigger than 2-14 from that picture to me
  22. This fish was realy fun for me to catch. He was my first cat in like 3 months. I went out yesterday for about an hour with some dough balls and caught two more small cats as well. Today I found out that that particular lake was stocked with 500 pounds of channel cats about a month ago. Im going to go down there next weekend and throw for them again. Hopefully I can get a big one like the once I used to catch in there a few years ago. Here is the pic of the full fish
  23. Nice fish...thats not just a hawg for ontario but a hawg for anywhere.....
  24. Please tell me you got a pic of that fish....and if you did please post it as soon as you can...
